Mr Thompson was the best teacher I've ever had and I don't think I'll ever have one like him. This piece he composed is a small insight into the incredible talent and love for music he had! ❤️❤️

Following after Gustav Holst and Harold Darke is no easy thing. I pressed "play" with not a little hesitation and, wonderfully, soon my reluctance was erased with a mixture of emotions: delight at such a lovely melody sensitively matching Christina Rossetti's words; joy at such a beautiful arrangement and orchestration - John Rutter needn't now bother to lift his pen; great pleasure at the singing and playing and sadness at the poignancy surrounding the piece. The words "Let us remember before God all those who rejoice with us, but upon another shore and in a greater light" have rarely been more appropriate. Respect to all involved.
