Dr Forrest, thank you for this beautiful, sensitive and tender composition. The arrangement brings out the depth of the words and lifts our heart to respond to God's love for us through Christ. May God continue to use your gifts for His glory and to touch many lives for Him! May you also be blessed and ministered to, just as your music has blessed many 🙏😊
I am Haitian,i barely understood the English lyrics. But, anytime i listen to this, i always cry. I really feel the power of a beautiful and soulfully melody. Thank you Dan Forrest for this arrangement , this leaves me without voice.
Dan Forrest ... Deus continue lhe abençoando. Melodia incrível, canto em um coral aqui no Brasil, na cidade de Recife, e esta melodia faz parte do nosso repertório!! Ela é simplesmente espetacular.
If the name Dan Forrest is found anywhere on the score you can be assured you will be hearing the finest arrangement!!! No one is finer than Forrest!!!
And can it be that I should gain An int’rest in the Savior’s blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain- For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Refrain: Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? ’Tis myst’ry all: th’ Immortal dies: Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine. ’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more. He left His Father’s throne above- So free, so infinite His grace- Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam’s helpless race: ’Tis mercy all, immense and free, For, O my God, it found out me! Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray- I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine; Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th’ eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Beautifully sung overall. At 0:55 the publisher could have saved some trouble with a simple courtesy accidental for the orchestra (2nd violin?) at meas. 4.
As a musician who's performed in those outdoor mic'd venues quite a bit, it can be very disorienting, and you can't hear the orchestra very well, nor can you see the conductor. Also, they are on hand held mic's, which makes it easy to sing and move forward on the beat, singing with partial resonance and breath support. What bothered me more was the big wrong note played in the orchestra in bar 4....someone played a Db instead of D nat. You can see the smirk on some of the players' faces as it happens.
@@jrthiker9908 LOL! I noticed that too! To your first point, it appears that the composer is "pushing" the tempo a little, trying perhaps to give it a feeling of urgency. In the score there are constant indications to move forward, con moto and poco piu mosso, only to bring it back down at the end of the verse. Every time the choir sings, "Amazing love" the score is marked poco piu mosso. There really is no steady tempo, but that's the way it's written.

The lyrics! Thank you for showing them! I am smitten by this song…❤❤

Wonderful music performed well. A bit slower tempo would make it perfect

It felt too rushed. Not the way it is supposed to be performed. It seemed the choir were abit ahead of the orchestra..
A bit rushed..and a very young sounding choir. I heard the voices before I looked at the screen. I thought it was a school choir
