This was a great review and comparison between the two cooling pads! Well done! EDIT: I really like the fact you used smoke / steam to show how the fans work as well. I'd love to see how they go moving objects as well, to see if they can easily blow a tissue or small microfiber cloth or something.
I actually got a MSI laptop very similar to the one you are using, a Vector 16 HX A14, and was looking for a way to get better cooling on it. The fact that the everest, despite offering better cooling, does not let the laptop seat well and is also louder, sways my opinion for the ultimate as something that I can use for being more portable. Temperatures are not the only important metrics, u also need to check the actual performance as certain laptop models tend to run faster eith better cooling
Hey GraboS21, thanks for your comment! Although it isn’t mentioned in the review, I did a test with the laptop elevated using a basic laptop stand. I raised it to a similar height as the laptop cooling pads and performed the test. After the initial 20 minute “warm up”, I recorded the temperature for 20 minutes and found an average drop of between 1-2°C. This demonstrated that elevating the laptop does provide a minor reduction, but the active cooling of the pads did provide further reduction. All the best, TruePreView.

So an 18 inch laptop like asus rog strix g18 wouldn't benefit much from either? I mean it has lots of openings under it but some will be blocked due to spacing?
Don't buy it mine got bad within 1-2 months of ordering it now the Fans operate real slow than earlier and my predator Helios 300 gets hot like a blonde babe on a summer beach everytime I start it up, till the very moment I'm done shutting it down, no effect of klim scam cooler whatsoever 😅😢

I see that you tested with an MSI Gaming laptop. Perhaps because they often emulate Molten Lava temperatures when gaming!
