Don't know. Depends on what ending to mk11 they go with. if they go with Liu Kang's ending then most of the rosters won't come back because they aren't born yet. And if they go with Shang tsung ending then I can see these people returning to try and stop him

This is MK 30 year anniversary, and Jade was in the very first game. If she’s not then it would be ridiculous. I think the OG roaster is gonna be intact.
They really should bring back every ninja, male and female. It's crazy to me how you sited large fan bases for several characters that you have returning but you don't think Jade is. She has a huge fan base, it's hard to tell Kitana's story without her, and she adds to diversity.
If i was Ed Boon i would continue the story from the last game with Liu Kang winning and starting over the timeline but implement Onaga The Dragon King's story early in the timeline and making him the big bad because let's face it, with the way NetherRealm has knocked it out of the park i think he could reimagine Deception and weave a good narrative with Onaga being the big bad, or he could just give Deception the RE2 and RE4 Remake treatment.
I can see that happening. Like Liu Kang can be starting over the tímeline and somehow he mess up and the Dragon King Onaga got released/imprison from wherever he was kept. I can see it like how DBZ movie Boyjack got released, after Goku teleport Cell to the Kai planet and exploit it and Boyjack got released/imprison.
I want Onaga in the next game simply because of the hint that Cetrion state Liu Kang will the flame of Onaga. That shit is actually huge. I mean the thought of Liu Kang is related to Onaga is crazy. This will explain well why Liu Kang was originally so strong in OG timeline, and most importantly his ability to summon and morph into a dragon.
With MK12 very likely being set in the great Kung Lao era, the edenian and outworld characters have a high chance because the age differently than earthrealmers. Other characters will most likely be their ancestors or previous mantle holder.
I truly hope this isn’t true it’ll make me sad since Jade is my all time fav character, though I would love if she looked more like when she was first introduced holing she is apart of the roster with Sindel being done over the correct way I hate what they did to her
Exactly… JADE should be back for sure. If it’s rewriting the history then it was Sindel plus Kitana, Jade and Mileena. And Jade is an amazing character. And Jade is crucial in correcting the messed up retcon 😅
I Hope Jacqui and D’Vorah doesn’t waste space in the roster. I hope they bring back Ermac, Smoke, Kintaro and Motaro. Orchid and Fulgore from Killer Instinct or Beta, Negan or Daryl from The Walking Dead would be awesome guest characters!
If I would have to guess roster for MK12, I would say, they will bring back all 11 characters that were in every MK game since reboot (Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Sub zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Kitana, Mileena, Kano, Liu Kang and Kung Lao), Smoke and Stryker as they were missing in previous 2 games, Reptile and Ermac as they have quite big fanbase, from MKX Cassie, Jacqui, Kotal, Erron and D'Vorah and also some fan favourites from 3D era (Havik, Ashrah, Nitara, Sareena, Hotaru). That gives us 25 characters+3 new and Onaga as boss. I think that would be quite good base roster.
Happy to see D'Vorah in the "Will come back" category. Agree with all the points, aside from killing her off. Honestly with MK we need villains like her which hold weight if they are in the story. As I'm sure everyone would be anticipating who is going to die to her next. We dont talk enough about how she killed Scorpion, or rather the significance of it. Her written to go over on Boon's day 1 favorite, and poster boy. We just dont have any villains like that anymore as all but maybe Shang Tsung have been trivialized by this point. So we need to keep her around.
I have more than 3 in my thoughts that should be able to sit out for this timeline game, Sonya, Raiden (he gave his powers might sit out) Kano (honorable mentions of Jax and Johnny if we are going to be staying in the past for one game)
MK won’t feel right without the special forces or Kano and they need to find a way to have Raiden get his powers back because the game won’t feel right without him either

The Sonya logic doesn't make any sense because that contradict the Scorpion returning where Hanzo literally died but Scorpion remains, yet Sonya dies but her younger self returned. We dunno if this a continuation from MK11 because I also heard it's a rebooted MK 1 story. So if that's true, the OG MK 1 characters should automatically be returning period.
Wishlist rosters like these for MK12 is honestly so difficult to create because it's really hard to predict who will or won't come back or what could happen next because of the point they're at now. Because, depending on how much power Fire God Liu Kong has now over time after his big reset bringing us back to the Great Kung Lao era, we may or may not see certain characters appear at all yet until their places in time finally comes in the future, assuming he doesn't just immediately bring all his friends back into the past. And with F. G. Liu Kang promising that Shang Tsung would never return in his New Era (even if we all know there's no way NRS will actually commit to that lol), implying that he actually has power over who will or won't return, it makes me wonder how other villains like Shinnok, Shao Kahn, or even Onaga will be handled if they ever start showing up again, if at all.
It's hard to do character predictions because nothing from the previous story actually matters. MK12 is picking up from MK11's ending, which has 2. Both of those endings reset the timeline tho. So who died in MK11 doesn't matter.
There’s going to be a whole bunch of new characters. In MKX it was characters from future generations in MK12 we’re going to get ancestors of popular characters. The more recent characters will probably be in DLC packs.
Mannnnn i'de be pretty upset if Raiden didn't make it into the next game, been my main and favorite since the beginning, but considering he is such a staple, they would probably find a way to get him his powers back.
I think if they made it ps5 exclusive it would be so dumb. They’re are so many people who play mk on ps4 and other games in general still, and it’s still pretty hard to find Ps5. I think they would lose a lot of money if they did that however, I’m pretty sure ps5 users would get early access though. But yeah I want my baby Jade as well. Too many people use her and I don’t think they want another Mileena situation happening lol
I feel like they could really try the chaos realm and have havik and onager as the main bosses … Then keep it at current timeline and have more chance at making sense to have returning characters
I just want the series to do more new ideas. If anything, I'd want a graphical style shake up to something more stylized and a shake up in the roster to include new characters and returning ones that haven't been in a title in a while. Li Mei, Havik, Shujinko. And I would cut some characters like Mileena, Raiden and Fujin.
I'm not expecting raiden to show up, especially after losing his powers.... Maybe a small roll, or unless there's a raiden from a different time line....

I think since Kung Lao is reborn under a different timeline I believe Kenshi will return, Liu Kang might return to the story though but playable...they might want to give him a little Raiden shine I mean the tournament will start all over again and instead of Raiden being the spiritual advisor he will take Liu Kangs place, Shang Tsung has also been beaten to a pulp far longer than other jobber since MK1 but if he returns that opens the door for others as well, maybe overall they'll do a character good bad swap to balance it out which could be fun, what would a Ice Demon Sub-Zero look like in place of Scorpion and maybe in place of Scorpion we get Cole Young just like MK3 Sub Zero was replaced...idk I think that could suck if the moves aren't epic enough though, MK12 has to be a deeper remake of MK1 with a ton of changes or...how Ed and John originally wanted it to be and very controversial like MK1 but without using any real world references

Agree, but in terms of the kombat kids, I'll can see coming back if NRS does the time skip again alternate timeline route like they did in MKX and MK11. That or the first couple of chapters in story mode will be in the Great Kung Lao era, then progress all the way until the present day
I'm going to say here, the same thing I said on TrueUnderdawgGaming's video discussing this topic. Other than Rambo, Terminator Robocop, Joker, and Spawn ( Ed Boon pretty much de-confirmed him already), I say everybody else from mk11 has at minimum a 50-50 chance of returning. Some are higher than others, but my point still stands. If they're not a part of the main roster or in the story mode, they'll be DLC. All depends on the direction MK12 goes in terms of the story, though. The roster reveal can't come soon enough 😎
If the next game had another Story expansion pack and had another 2 characters. Having those 2 characters as Sub-Zero and Scorpion would make it the most sold MK DLC ever.
This installment of the franchise should consist of all the characters of the franchise and special appearances like Freddy and the others. This game has been around for 30 YEARS now they gotta capitalize on that and celebrate it.
I feel like Shang Tsung should have more of a chance of coming back, I especially love that Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa played him again as he was amazing in the 1995 movie, if he's not the main antagonist in MK12 at least make him a big enough of a threat on his own, Onaga like I said before needs some more appreciation too, if Shang Tsung evolves his sorcery from Onaga that would be awesome so he can stand up more to Liu Kang

Really depending on the story where it directs but the characters that you mention David if ed and nrs are merge up the timeline from the great kung Lao era most likely the mainstay characters won't be above the horizon cause they were not present or born. But in shang tsung timeline I can see another mk7 ish armageddon roster into the fray and we could easily see the 3d era bulge in for the first time to jeopardise the other realms and see onaga the dragon rising and make a statement. I'm really hoping they don't use the hourglass thing again cause there was a lot of time-travel. Returns from the kombat kids me personally are takeda cassie jacquie. I agree on most list you mentioned uncaged. But dvorah must be the definition sideline of see you later alligator cause she is the queen insect and by far she was the most formidable killer femme fatale in mk history. She has slayed multiple characters including mileena. Then the basic characters I wanna see are nightwolf, Johnny cage ,rain, kitana, jade, noob saibot, please smoke,reptile,ermac that sick costume in 11 better have justice in 12,sonya blade, of cause liu kang cause now he is the new raiden and is equipped with elder god powers,raiden still wanna see him despite he is not the face protector anymore of earth but I wanna see how he will perform without his powers. Jax is the alpha male for the special forces cause sonya without him she may never catch kano. But sonya killed kano twice in 11 future and past self but still she needs jax always by her side. and finally kano he might sit out since he is a weak character. But let's see where the story goes again. Dlc maybe striker,kabal,baraka,skarlet,and some shokans, and yes erron black was the most charming and relaxing character he is a megablast shield for outworld

That's a given since he was in some of the ending stories (Robocop and Joker). Also, If Shang Tsu beats Lui Kang in the extended content, his general say that only two dimension yet stand: Earth Realm and Chaos Realm.
The characters who were NOT part of the Mortal Kombat 11 roster I think should come back are Smoke, Kurtis Stryker, Takeda, Kenshi, Bo Rai Cho, Reptile, Ermac, and Goro!
I don’t think a lot of people talk about this but, in MKX Story (if I may remember korrectly). Smoke escapes along with Takeda & Kung Jin. So……..they should return somehow especially Smoke.

There’s going to be a whole bunch of new characters. In MKX it was characters from future generations in MK12 we’re going to get ancestors of popular characters. The more recent characters will probably be in DLC packs.

I think if they made it ps5 exclusive it would be so dumb. They’re are so many people who play mk on ps4 and other games in general still, and it’s still pretty hard to find Ps5. I think they would lose a lot of money if they did that however, I’m pretty sure ps5 users would get early access though. But yeah I want my baby Jade as well. I just want the series to do more new ideas. If anything, I'd want a graphical style shake up to something more stylized and a shake up in the roster to include new characters and returning ones that haven't been in a title in a while. Li Mei, Havik, Shujinko. And I would cut some characters like Mileena, Raiden and Fujin.
You should do a kontinuation with the kharacters who have not been in a game since Mortal Kombat 2011.
I'm not expecting raiden to show up, especially after losing his powers.... Maybe a small roll, or unless there's a raiden from a different time line....

I think since Kung Lao is reborn under a different timeline I believe Kenshi will return, Liu Kang might return to the story though but playable...they might want to give him a little Raiden shine I mean the tournament will start all over again and instead of Raiden being the spiritual advisor he will take Liu Kangs place, Shang Tsung has also been beaten to a pulp far longer than other jobber since MK1 but if he returns that opens the door for others as well, maybe overall they'll do a character good bad swap to balance it out which could be fun, what would a Ice Demon Sub-Zero look like in place of Scorpion and maybe in place of Scorpion we get Cole Young just like MK3 Sub Zero was replaced...idk I think that could suck if the moves aren't epic enough though, MK12 has to be a deeper remake of MK1 with a ton of changes or...how Ed and John originally wanted it to be and very controversial like MK1 but without using any real world references

Agree, but in terms of the kombat kids, I'll can see coming back if NRS does the time skip again alternate timeline route like they did in MKX and MK11. That or the first couple of chapters in story mode will be in the Great Kung Lao era, then progress all the way until the present day
I'm going to say here, the same thing I said on TrueUnderdawgGaming's video discussing this topic. Other than Rambo, Terminator Robocop, Joker, and Spawn ( Ed Boon pretty much de-confirmed him already), I say everybody else from mk11 has at minimum a 50-50 chance of returning. Some are higher than others, but my point still stands. If they're not a part of the main roster or in the story mode, they'll be DLC. All depends on the direction MK12 goes in terms of the story, though. The roster reveal can't come soon enough 😎
If the next game had another Story expansion pack and had another 2 characters. Having those 2 characters as Sub-Zero and Scorpion would make it the most sold MK DLC ever.

This installment of the franchise should consist of all the characters of the franchise and special appearances like Freddy and the others. This game has been around for 30 YEARS now they gotta capitalize on that and celebrate it.
I feel like Shang Tsung should have more of a chance of coming back, I especially love that Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa played him again as he was amazing in the 1995 movie, if he's not the main antagonist in MK12 at least make him a big enough of a threat on his own, Onaga like I said before needs some more appreciation too, if Shang Tsung evolves his sorcery from Onaga that would be awesome so he can stand up more to Liu Kang

Really depending on the story where it directs but the characters that you mention David if ed and nrs are merge up the timeline from the great kung Lao era most likely the mainstay characters won't be above the horizon cause they were not present or born. But in shang tsung timeline I can see another mk7 ish armageddon roster into the fray and we could easily see the 3d era bulge in for the first time

Returns from the kombat kids me personally are takeda cassie jacquie. I agree on most list you mentioned uncaged. She has slayed multiple characters including mileena. Then the basic characters I wanna see are nightwolf, Johnny cage ,rain, kitana, jade, noob saibot, please smoke,reptile,ermac that sick costume in 11 better have justice in 12,sonya blade, of cause liu kang cause now he is the new raiden and is equipped with elder god powers,raiden still wanna see him despite he is not the face protector anymore of earth but I wanna see how he will perform without his powers. Jax is the alpha male for the special forces cause sonya without him she may never catch kano. But sonya killed kano twice in 11 future and past self
