      +Geetanjli Kalyan
      First of all, thank you for your valuable comments Geetanjli.
      I think from the video Xbar-S chart must be clear to you.
      We can draw Xbar-S chart when data is continuous, collected in subgroups and subgroup size is more than 8.
      Now, as you had asked for Pre-assessment and PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) along with this control chart, it will be having 3 phases of the same control chart.
      1st phase, we can called it as a "Baseline data". In this phase, we draw the Xbar-S chart, we can refer it as a "Pre-assessment".
      2nd phase is about "Post intervention data". In this phase, which indicates effectiveness measurement of actions we had taken by following Plan-Do-Study-Act or in other words, Study the impact and then plan further actions. This will continued till we get the desired results.
      And the 3rd phase is about "Continuous monitoring" to ensure presence of assignable cause immediately and correct it.

    I was under the impression that XBar-R charts were for constant subgroup sizes between 2&10. Is this not correct? Is this a recent change in Lean? please advise. My current course material has that range listed.

    • @learnandapply
      @learnandapply  5 лет назад

      Thank you for your valuable comments.
      You can use Xbar-R charts for subgroup size up to 8 and use of Xbar-s chart will be more accurate for subgroup size more than 8.
      Using Xbar-R chart for subgroup size 9 or 10 won't be wrong, but Xbar-s chart will be more accurate, logic is same as that of difference in Range and Standard deviation...
