Great job, Matt. It's one thing downloading a file and 3D printing or cutting it - but designing your own from scratch and seeing it turn into reality is a whole leap ahead. Fantastic result!
Looks great, I could have done with one of those cutters when I volunteered to make an engine shed for my son's wooden railway set many years ago - the result was interesting.
Greetings my friend, that was a outstanding build, and dedign job, not all you have to do now is upscale to either 72nd or 48th scale, and I think it would look good with a Phantom as well, bedt bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👌👍👌👍👌👍
Awesome diorama Matt, love the detail on the hangar. Your model of the English Electric Lightning looks so at home, in the hangar. After seeing I am curious to see what creations you will make next . On both the laser cutter & 3D Printer. Anyway keep up the great work!
Great video again! Awesome diorama! Wonder if this is possible with a bigger kit in 1/24 or a 1/72 Lancaster or b-17! That'd be awesome to see! Or maybe an airfield diorama like the ones in B-17 Flying Fortress The Mighty 8th!
Oh bloody hell the wife will kill me as I want a 3D printer now :-) Yes I know this is a laser cutter. The results were really good... what next? The Forth rail bridge in N gauge?
3D printers , laser cutters and even the cricut have really changed the ball game in modelling esp when it comes to detail and speed what would take days or even weeks to produce now takes a few hrs. Love the hanger project can't wait to see what you come up with next. I use librecad , freecad and inkscape for all my model designs and the best thing is they are all free 🙂
@@BobMuir100 They seem to be popular with crat / modellers, have a look at everad junction he uses one for all his buildings some of which are very big.
Well, I love it all Matt it’s ACE!! What is the paid promo by the way? I have yet to join the 3D printer or laser playground………..money and nervous about which etc etc. You appear to have landed on your feet and produced a really good diorama! Well done Matt Bob England
That is fantastic! Now you have a laser cutter you can make all your own scenery! I see a new side business coming from you now 😉 Maybe you could do a Sepecat Jaguar or Tornado now 😉
Awesome Mat.reminds me of the Revel aircraft shelter ,ground crew and Eurofighter set in 1/72 from a few years ago....had 2 of them and sold both of them which i now regret.
Its a great looking diorama Matt. But you know my thoughts on the aircraft used. Would have looked better with a suitable 1/144 scale fighter or maybe larger at 1/72 scale.
I did think about going to 1/72, but the parts would have been large to the point that the material I used would have resulted in waste (it would be like 1 part per sheet) and also take much longer to cut - time being something I was short of. Not to mention the space required, 1/100 was the sensible choice with the time, space and resources I had available at the time (not to mention the maths to scale down dimensions is so much simpler at 1/100)
@@ModelMinutes You would probably need a base size of 18 to 24 inch or more for 1/72. I think most 1/72 Jets will be about 10 to 12 inch long and 8 inch wide. The HAS width would have to allow for about 3 inch either side of the planes wings. So, yeah, maybe 1/144 is the biggest scale you could go.
the design is based on a HAS which was only intended for one aircraft - I took the sizings based on drawings at the correct scale so is fairly accurate for 1/100

Thanks! It was quite the challenge :P
Excellent work Matt very creative use of the cutter, like the lighting too. Sorry I missed the premier !
No worries!
Looks great, I could have done with one of those cutters when I volunteered to make an engine shed for my son's wooden railway set many years ago - the result was interesting.
Yeah, I can imagine! The thing with a design like this is that it’s now repeatable as many times as you want which is cool
Great diorama, looks very authentic.
Thanks! Glad you like it :)

Yeah! I think the files shouldn’t have any issues being scaled up, although I might have a problem with space 😂

Thank you very much! I have some ideas and inspiration for other projects but I guess only time will tell!

Possibly! But I’d run out of space before I complete it 😂
@@ModelMinutes I like the sound of 'Possibly!'
Excellent résult particularly as it is the first go 👍🏼
Lovely diorama overall.
Thanks very much 😊
@@ModelMinutes You’re welcome 😊
Great job Mat 👏 👍 👌
Thanks! 👍
It looks fantastic!
Thanks very much!
Now that is amazing!
Thanks!

What about a laser cutter?

Looks great mate. Well done 👏.
Thank you! Cheers!
Very impressive
Thanks 😊
Very nice work. Inspiring indeed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks pretty good, Matt ! Despite that people says, that the hangar doesn't fit the aircriaft, regarding the time period.
Thanks 😊
wahw Matt super!!
Thanks 😊
Super 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 😊
@@ModelMinutes thank you ☝🏻
Hi Matt, great idea for a diarama, can see the potential for a Telford competition entry in the years to come
That would be cool! Maybe one day...
Nice has (hardened aircraft shelter) looks pretty much like a nato one
Thanks! Whilst it’s not an accurate representation of any specific time, I was inspired by those
I would really like to see a build video on the revell 1:144 eurofighter typhoon
Something I might be able to do

Definitely! Once you’ve got the design they are all instantly repeatable too 😊
Hi, I am mulling it over and your mention of the Cricut caught my eye, do you think it’s useful to us modellers?
@@BobMuir100 in some ways, it can be handy for decals and masks. But I find the software hard to use, it’s not user friendly

Great job....the diorama looks great with the Lightning. 👍👍👍
Glad you like it! 😊
Anything Model Minutes does is always wonderful!!!!
It came out really well and looks very effective for what you wanted
Thanks! I’m really happy with it

@@ModelMinutes thanks mate. So are they worth the money ? Will you use it much?
@@BobMuir100 I’d like to use it for a lot of things, it’s just having somewhere to use it at the moment which is the main barrier
Brilliant Matt?
Thanks!
Need more space for work? Methinks a gazebo, or even a conservatory, could be in the future...
I'd love a shed!

I wouldn’t describe it as ‘Awesome’, it’s very small, at twice the size the Hanger would look realistic.

No one scratch builds anymore..... Everything is 3D printed, another skill has been lost
Not completely true
