  • The FBI is carrying out a criminal investigation into the cargo ship Dali, which caused the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Authorities are examining whether crew members were aware of the vessel's 'serious problems' before departure. The incident on March 26 claimed six lives as the bridge partially collapsed, plunging construction workers into the Patapsco River. According to reports, the massive container ship had experienced apparent electrical issues before it left port but set out anyway. Alarms went off on the ship’s refrigerated containers while it was still docked in Baltimore, likely indicating an inconsistent power supply. The ship’s crew was aware of the issues and indicated they would be addressed.

My question is if the person in charge of the Dali had called for help when they first lost power could tug boats have gotten to them in time to prevent them from hitting the bridge.

What are the test results of the fuel, contaminated or not.

It has been publicly stated that the fuel was not contaminated. At this time the most likely cause was instability in load sharing between the running generators. This is a complex subject and can result in tripouts The NTSB has th ball on this.
