      I have a bit of a problem , I hope you can help . When I make doors like this or similar to this in space on "station" grid they lock up after merging and un-merging and things refuse to move . Any idea why ?

    • @MjuMeli
      @MjuMeli  5 месяцев назад

      @@russellbridgman3052 Hey! Have you checked that the door grid really detaches from the static grid? Meaning there are no hidden connections besides the merge block. If it's because the grid stays as a static grid even after detaching, then I'm not fully sure how to fix it... I may have run into the same issue, but it's been a while so I don't remember how I solved it. And to be fair I mostly made small grid doors that would never have this issue to begin with.
      It may be possible to solve this with either a programmable block or an event controller; when the merge block is turned off, it tries to automatically convert the door grid into a ship. This sound pretty janky though.
      Hope you'll figure it out!

      @MjuMeli thanks for the feed back , I think it's just a large grid space thing , just converts to station and locks up , proper nuisance .

    I love your work dude, I got hooked on your circle videos and this one gave me an idea about a emergency Escape pod using some tips from your super small airlock. Pretty convinced you can make an escape pod in small grid that would fit a 1x1x1 large grid cube worth of space. Not so sure about life support systems in that size but I only just watched the video, so I ain't built nothing yet.

      Ooh, That escape pod is an awesome idea! Excluding an oxygen tank (I wish there was a small version like the hydrogen tank) you should be able to fit everything in a 5x5x5 cube.
      The air inside the pod will last you a while and you could add small cargo containers in the walls with some oxygen bottles inside them for some extra air supply.
      And yeah I noticed your comment (BTW thanks for blessing me with the power of your first comment :D) and left a reply. Didn't you get a notification? It's in episode #1 if you can't find it.

    • @MjuMeli
      @MjuMeli  3 года назад

      Awesome! A custom landing gear is something I've wanted to build for a long time.
      Hey how did you work around the double press issue? Extra timer to turn off the initial timer block for a certain time?

    • @thefistofshadow7392
      @thefistofshadow7392 3 года назад +1

      @@MjuMeli i made a "start"-timer that is just there to be turnd on and off, after that the start timer triggers the second timer, the "lock"-timer, the "lock" turns off the "start" and splits the timers like you did in your setup.
      After the last timer did his action, he triggers the "unlock" timer which turns the "start" back on.
      If you have delays, for example a piston, you have make the delay on the next timer block, so it waits for the command to triggre.
      i think that you could make that easier but i want it to make as logical as possible xd

    These are very beautiful and functional designs. Your work is really great, and I love how you present it with snippets of failures. I was wondering if you stuck to the small block design because of overall door size. Have you made anything like this with large blocks?

    • @MjuMeli
      @MjuMeli  2 года назад +1

      Thanks man! For any given size of door it's way more compact in small grid. But I see no problems with making any of these in large grid. They will just be a lot lot bigger.

  • @chriswhittington5790
    @chriswhittington5790 2 года назад +1

    Does the grid type make a difference on if the doors work or not? I'm trying to figure out custom airtight doors myself and I'm having an issue with the doors not opening after the merge block is turned off. I have the grid I'm working on set as a station so the kracken can't run off with it, is that the issue?

    • @MjuMeli
      @MjuMeli  2 года назад

      Most likely the issue is that you have some other place where the door connects other than the merge block. You could be hiding an extra connection somewhere on the side of the door for example.
      I guess it could also be related to the grid becoming static if the frame is a static grid. I've never had this problem, but then again I've only used small grid which can't become static.
      I have a tutorial if you wanna check it out.
