This is pretty refreshing in terms of game review content. How often have I seen game reviews from around the time you put this out that weren't comedy-focused? Nicely done, sir.
it's nice seeing you playing the game for longer than just a few seconds in the end for what I consider my all-time favorite arcade game. you're pretty good at it.
I hope that one day when Mark retires he flies the Intergalactic Space Arcade back to earth and opens it up to the public, running a classic 80's style arcade serving beer and sharing the love for classic video games with everyone!
Excellent game Millipede is... In my top ten all time for sure. 7:05 Don't you know you can't talk and play this game at the same time lol Arcades coin op machines are the best. It was a part of my childhood growing up. The Big Bow Wow in Howard Beach was my stomping ground as a youngster well, when my dad kindly drove me lol. I remember looking up through the wheel playing Pole Position and still competing with my dad and he was pretty good..That's all he damn played haha
My favorite from the classic arcade era of late 70s early 80s. I actually bought one for my own personal use at home, took me 4 months to break the high score, which is now 412k.
This game is addicting fun, have it on NES and on one of the Atari compilations on PS1 (which is the arcade version). Prefer it to Centipede as it plays at a far more frantic pace. Used to play the arcade machine at a pool hall for teens back in the day, it sat next to a Xevious machine, Arkanoid was also there, along with Time Pilot, Quartet, Mat Mania, and the sitdown Star Wars Atari cabinet.
And to think this game was contained in a 16 Kilobyte ROM. My record (with mouse) in MAME stands at 469,000 with all settings set to HARD and 15,000 bonus.
The way I enjoy Millipede and other classic arcade games is with a cheese or pepperoni pizza and breadsticks from Pizza Hut and either Pepsi, Coke, or Royal Crown Cola
my record in millipede is 215600, started at 36000. But that is inMAME and with a mouse instread of trackball. Planning to build my own centipede cabinet. How much the programmers crammed into that 16K code, is beyond me.
If you're scoring 100k-200k points on Millepede you are EXPERT LEVEL. Its Basically the Original Bullet Hell ...You have to best experience it using the TrackBall... I recently got the Atari Legacy Cab from Arcade 1up... Just getting to 40k points on Millepede takes learning the skills... The game is Extremely Fast Pace... More so than Most anything Else.
I bought one of this just after I turned 16 after I found one for a great deal. Almost a decade later it still plays great and I still suck at it. I could use some new barrings for the trackball but other than that its great. I don't think I could ever sell my first arcade cabinet.
I think there's money to be made in producting LCDs with built in CRT emulator software so you can just directly connect up any old arcade game and still get that old fashuioned CRT feeling, albeit flat but with the vibrant scanlines and phosphors
Ok, I found your trak-ball reviews for the Atari consoles, they seem cool, but disappointing. Good reviews though. Seems like a trak-ball would be useful in a FPS today if it were made well.
ClutchKman Omg that is an amazing idea. because i suck at console fps's because i'm way more precise with a mouse than a right joystick. patent that dude.
ClutchKman I don't think so because with a trackball you would have to do so much more extra movement with your hand and arm, not only would it be ineffective but also would heavily strain your wrist in the long run. And it still wouldn't be as precise as today's laser mouses I fear. The "secret" in FPS's and mouse play is to set the sensitivity down and use an XL mouse pad. That way you can get very precise controlling.
I played this game. It is nearly impossible! Still a great game nevertheless. I love it, probably more than Centipede, even if it means that it's more frantic than Centipede.
Unfortunately, the flashy effect that happens when you die gives me a headache, so I tend to avoid Millipede. I also avoid Centipede because I suck at the game and it just isn't fun for me.
HOLLY SEVENTH DIMENSION BATMAN!!! Millipede is just too fast, too insane and too intense Kind of like when they sped, up Ms Pac Man I didn't mind the speed increase but it completely fowled up the action of the joy stick. I'll stick with centipede. I just bought a use Centipede tonight and the track ball went bad while moving it it worked when I tested the machine, it will have to be repaired or replaced. P.S As Johnny Fever on W K R P said "Speed kills Del!"
lol i wounder what his wife (i dont know if he have one or not) think about having all these games does she ever nag on you like my gosh aren't u too old for video game you should sell them or get rid of it
l love the extra life sound from Centipede and Millipede... So iconic. I remember hearing it above everything else in those 80s arcades.
This is pretty refreshing in terms of game review content. How often have I seen game reviews from around the time you put this out that weren't comedy-focused? Nicely done, sir.
This video easily should be restricted to 18+ due to how good Mark is with those hands.
Millipede is best enjoyed with beer, pizza and super spicy chicken wings!
life in a nutshell
unadulterated by big tits or that bouncing ubiquitous booty
true peace
I think everyting is more enjoyable with beer, pizza and chicken
RAPEE APE
I agree.
My balls spin faster when I have just the right amount of pizza grease.
Tabletop Millipede to rest your 🍺 & 🍕 while you play 😎
it's nice seeing you playing the game for longer than just a few seconds in the end for what I consider my all-time favorite arcade game. you're pretty good at it.
Millipede and Robotron 2084 were crazy games.
I used to play this on my Atari, such a fun, frantic game. That arcade cabinet is attractive.
I love the sound fx in this game. they're amazing
Very nicely done review. Centipede and Millipede are games that require the arcade cabinet. The ports are fine, but there's just no substitute.
The trackball make this game and Centipede very unique as well as very challenging. It's a true arcade classic.
I hope that one day when Mark retires he flies the Intergalactic Space Arcade back to earth and opens it up to the public, running a classic 80's style arcade serving beer and sharing the love for classic video games with everyone!
That was some intense gameplay especially in the earlier parts of the video. I was even starting to feel that through the screen.
Excellent game Millipede is... In my top ten all time for sure.
7:05 Don't you know you can't talk and play this game at the same time lol
Arcades coin op machines are the best. It was a part of my childhood growing up. The Big Bow Wow in Howard Beach was my stomping ground as a youngster well, when my dad kindly drove me lol. Well, you're one heckuva Millipede player. I would have lasted about 5 seconds at the speed you're playing... ;)
My favorite from the classic arcade era of late 70s early 80s. I actually bought one for my own personal use at home, took me 4 months to break the high score, which is now 412k.
Fabulous!
I love this game but my god it is the most stressful game I have ever played
Millipede was always one of my top 5's but I too think Centipede is a hair better!thanks for reviewing
My mom's third favorite game of all time.
Derek at the beginning! So funny!
For those tight on space. You can get a kit to add Centipede to Millipede so you can have both games in one cabinet.
I'd love to visit the Intergalactic Space Arcade.
Mark shoild have a contest where like 3-5 people could win a chance to visit it XD
JackysArtandGames
Just order some pizza, smoke some bud and play arcade games all day long. That's heaven brother.
MasterAdam100
Indeed :D
Yeah. He's actually a pretty damn good millipede player. Wow.

Holy crap. I dont think my heartates ever gone up watching someone else play... That was fucking intense
I miss the old arcade days. Gauntlet with my brothers was memorable I always got stuck with the elf
I have never played Millipede in the arcades only on home ports. It really does look way more frantic than Centipede.
Totally awesome stuff.
Oh how I love Millipede!
Centipede is one of my all time favourite games to play. I hope I can find a Millipede machine somewhere so I can try it out.
i lolled at "GIMMIE A FRICKIN BREAK MILLIPEDE!!" haha
And to think this game was contained in a 16 Kilobyte ROM. My record (with mouse) in MAME stands at 469,000 with all settings set to HARD and 15,000 bonus.
All time classic right there
The way I enjoy Millipede and other classic arcade games is with a cheese or pepperoni pizza and breadsticks from Pizza Hut and either Pepsi, Coke, or Royal Crown Cola

a great game, and a great beer. that's all i need.
love this game !!!! going to look for my Gameboy copy right now & play the hell out of it :)

LMAO, Poor Derek!
Derek was basically the punching bag around the CGR Intergalactic Space Arcade.
Actually Mark, you DO get points for shooting the millipede and mushrooms.
I wish I could own some arcade machines. Guess I'll just keep attempting to live through Mark.
Derek is such a wimp he can't even push a weightless arcade machine in space.
I wanna play this now because of this video
Mark is mean with Derek :s
I love it. Too bad TJ wasnt in that punishment. XD
Sato
or Brandon for that matter.
You have all the best games from the past.. Where do you find your rare cabs from? You have 3 of my favourites
this is madness....
I bought one of this just after I turned 16 after I found one for a great deal. Almost a decade later it still plays great and I still suck at it. I could use some new barrings for the trackball but other than that its great. I don't think I could ever sell my first arcade cabinet.
I can hardly imagine myself playing with a track ball... I'm so used to D-pads...
this game reached the pinnacle of action it couldnt go any forward from this.
40 anniversray of millipede
Was ported in various systems too
Is great game!
unrelated: cute avatar :D
Love this one a lil bit more than Centipede, but both great games.
Tempest is still the king of the arcade, has far as the early Atari machines!
Personally, I'll always like the Centipede Cabinet Art a hell of a lot more than Millipede's.
You need to do more Aracde reviews
NOW CONTINUE TO FORCE MANUAL LABOR ON DEREK UNTIL HE REVIEWS DONKEY KONG COUNTRY: TROPICAL FREEZE!!!!!!
Looks freaking hard
i just love CGR, man! ^^
That CRT is almost dead. When the retrace lines are visible t get a decent picture, it needs a rejuvenation, badly.
I think there's money to be made in producting LCDs with built in CRT emulator software so you can just directly connect up any old arcade game and still get that old fashuioned CRT feeling, albeit flat but with the vibrant scanlines and phosphors
Is Millipede available on any game console that you know of (PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, X Box Series X)????
Nice moves Mark! I've always wanted a track ball on a home console. Did they ever make one? A good one?
Ok, I found your trak-ball reviews for the Atari consoles, they seem cool, but disappointing. Good reviews though. Seems like a trak-ball would be useful in a FPS today if it were made well.
ClutchKman
Omg that is an amazing idea. because i suck at console fps's because i'm way more precise with a mouse than a right joystick. patent that dude.
I know, Mark would be like Billy the Kid with those trak-ball skills he's got.
ClutchKman The Steam controller is hackable, so you can add trackballs to it to replace the touch pads.
WE NEED MORE HEYZOOS!!!
This game was fucking hard. Games that have no ending of winning makes it hard for me to play because I like a happy ending.
the happy ending is getting the highest score ;)
How r u so good at this game!? Any tips because I feel like a huge scrub now
You can play this in Google Chrome as well.
Dat Skill.
What's the difference between centipede and millipede?
Millipede is 10 times faster than Centipede
Havent seen a faster game since. A couple got close. But millipede is king of speed and anticipation.
this game looks like it could be hezoos's favorite game. it's like centipede on crack.
How does he have all this stuff where does he get the money?
The 8 bit Atari computer version is quite good.
Where do you get the arcade machine?
Unfortunately, the flashy effect that happens when you die gives me a headache, so I tend to avoid Millipede. I also avoid Centipede because I suck at the game and it just isn't fun for me.
That trackball needs an adult.
this game looks fucking sick
I had this for the Atari 2600. I was better at it than playing Centipede.
It's missing a sweet El camino
Hells YES!
watching again; you're fucking boss at millipede mark.
How much a machne with this game woukd cost back in the early 80's
PUT IT INTO PLACE NOW!!! I WILL GIVE YOU A GAME COM 😂😂😂
What if he forgot to turn off the camera
How has it taken you this long to get one?!?
Poor Derek XD
...I need a rocket...
(To get to the intergalactic space arcade)
great thanks
1 all time score back at butterfly arcade was 1,000,026 spent $14 ok i lied all time was 100,000 points and i think i spent like 30 bucks in quarters
5:58 😂
I approve

hard game XD
I comment to help ¿do you?
lol i wounder what his wife (i dont know if he have one or not) think about having all these games does she ever nag on you like my gosh aren't u too old for video game you should sell them or get rid of it
Mark's lucky, all his awesome shit is at the office.
..................
Hilarious.
F.... firs... first?
Maybe?
...
I was better at this than centipede on the 2600
Very few games are better than this.
I prefer Centipede, Millipede looks intense
