While I’m probably not as philosophical as you, I loved learning about your journey through rebuilding the farmhouse, leaving the corporate rat race, and transitioning into Farmer Pete. I wish my husband had your love of the land so he could entertain doing the same. You’re making a huge difference in the world, both through the amazing food you’re creating, but also through redirecting your audience toward what truly matters ~ keep it up, both of you!❤
That "farm lumber yard" makes me happy. I saw a yt video last night of someone replacing their flooring. They were throwing out 15ft lengths of 3/4" x 6" white oak into a dumpster because of nail holes. It hurt me deeply.
Yes, as I can relate with the Cornstar family when they were redoing their 100 year old Victorian farmhouse. They were not saving anything, including the oak planks because it had some damages and warped beyond saving and having an open air concept, it was necessary for them for their growing family. It pains me to see all that wood going into the burnpile. Sigh.
I truly miss Brownie, Bossy pig, and Billy. I always loved that Billy enjoyed being loved on. My father in laws pigs never were given that privilege. I do understand. God bless you Pete, Hillary, and your children.

It just occurred to me that the enthusiasm for your channel is as much about your values, mostly shown by example in the way you live your life, as it is anything else. Looking out at the world today, from the never ending march towards a completely digital world (and all the harm that comes with that) to the insane wars abroad (which feel like they belong in the last century), and looking out at this country, from the legalized corruption in the federal government, to the never ending transfer of wealth upwards that results, to the outraged and outsmarted public, fighting amongst themselves, your channel is like an antidote to it all. A man of integrity, humility, common sense, and a joy to watch as a master of this craft. It's you and me (and I imagine many of the folks who enjoy this channel) that stand opposite all of that craziness out there. Here's to a breath of fresh air that's shared here on your channel, and may we be that solution to all of the problems out there, simply living our quiet lives of integrity. That's not to say that any of us are perfect, but in the real world there still are pockets of sanity, folks guided by their conscience, really trying to do what's right, where we can, acting in good faith. Our institutions and our technology will never save us, but maybe these little pockets of integrity, hopefully growing stronger, one day will.

Hiya Pete, love the humor, This video is a great demonstration of the resiliency of the small family farm. Even in adversity (losing the piggers) you find a way to repurpose the space into something useful for the farm. Very little ever goes to waste even unused lumber from past projects finds a use in the next project. I will bet the old gate hardware removed from this space will reappear in some future project you haven't yet thought up. Have a great day!!

I always enjoy watching. I lived with my uncle on a farm in Kentucky. Raised about 40 Black Angus, a few pigs, (25). The outhouse was in the chicken run to disguise the aromatic fragrance. You bring back those wonderful long hard-worked days to memory. Keep your spirits up as you are dealing with changes, I'm sure that you are going to make the right decisions. I started searching today and found them again, and it was definitely good to hear your voice, as well as the calmness that you bring to a conversation! It was also nice to see Hilary come by to see what you were up to regarding the Bruder boxes… She sure has beautiful hair and a beautiful smile❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Watching you build the Bruder house was very enjoyable because you’re so precise and I wish more people would slow down and be as precise as you are, Pete!! Yes for not getting the second one done I just want to tell you and I know you probably know this, but it doesn’t really matter How many you get done in a days time especially during the winter because you’re limited on the hours in a day and the hours the sun is up so, therefore, your work hours are shortened but more importantly, I don’t know if it was my grandmother, or someone else who said God doesn’t make a to do list and he doesn’t check off things that don’t get done and carry it over into the next day. I’ve lived my life as much as I can by that thought. I recently spent the last 2 1/2 months in the hospital trying to finally be cured of pneumonia. It’s harder and harder each year then I get older so I encourage you as long as you got your health not to stress over things that you don’t get done in a days time but rather enjoy what you’re able to do and your health the last 12 years I’ve been fighting cancer issues, pneumonia and heart issues and I sure wished I’d have been less stressed in my jobs and my working life and my personal life because the doctors tell me it would’ve made a big difference so I tried to encourage people to enjoy the fun things you’re doing including work because there’s nothing worse than when you wanna work and can’t. I was watching Eddie Farm Pham, as well as Walker family fun and both of them mentioned you and I thought that was pretty cool because they were admiring not only what you do on the farm, but how much knowledge you have and that you were kind of the person they look up to the most. Last but not least, last fall I was getting together with my sisters, and there were six of us in the room when I decided to tell them, I was watching farm videos not that it’s a big deal because we were all raised on the farm, but it’s been 50 years since we lived on the farm. Imagine my surprise when I told my sisters that I was watching farm videos and I asked if any of them happen to be watching farm videos… (Our parents passed away about 25 years ago)… I was shocked, first, by the fact that half of us or more were watching Pharm videos, and of that half all of us were watching you😊❣️😊❣️😊❣️😊❣️😊 I thought that was pretty cool… And by the way, all of us are educated college girls with honors, and it was super comforting to know that, even though we’ve been to college and beyond with good paying jobs, we still desired and loved the life I thank you, Pete, Hilary, for allowing me to be a part of yourvideos and farm life. God bless you both and your family.
I am so darn excited that Spring is upon us and life gets kicking on the farm. I am looking forward to your garden set up too. Yes, winter is the rest season, sort of, but when then chickens come in, and the cows get let loose in the field first time, and the 2 pigs arrive for the outdoor space, and farmer's market starts fresh, and when you say "Come on cows", Well my days are complete Yahoo!

Pete! Wait until you retire! then you will never have enough time to get anything done!. I went from 60 work week to retirement and I get less done now then I did when I worked those hours. Those little mini fence staples can sure be a pain. Good to see chick time coming. I have a small building here on the farm that I raise new layers in every spring, and sell most eggs at my neighbor's farm store. We had several inches of wet sloppy snow over the weekend here in Otsego County, it is mostly gone now. Maybe spring will come for good now. Glad to see Titus mixing in with the others- I know you said a while back that he was spending time off by himself. I bet he will be fine when he has his own harem.

Lot of thought on the brooders. We use the a plastic stock tank for the brooder now. Room for two dozen peeps and easy to clean and store. When done everything hangs up in the barn rafters.

Hi! I always enjoy your farming videos. Our springs here in Estonia 🇪🇪 are also very volatile. Here we had snow the night before yesterday and today we had +12C (54F) temperatures 😳 Last year at this time we still had ice on the rivers!
Hey Pete, spring is always a nice time of the year here in Wisconsin as well. The last couple mornings it's been in the upper teens. ( About minus 50 C) The days have been getting a little warmer up near 40. ( About 50 C) Although we're not in agriculture we all have our spring routine and have to get used to the longer work hours and longer days. Thanks for the great videos!

Just a thought Pete. If you were to put the water for the cows on the other side that would give more room for them to feed. Of course you would have to reroute the water supply. Nice work on the brooders.

Pete! Wait until you retire! then you will never have enough time to get anything done!. I went from 60 work week to retirement and I get less done now then I did when I worked those hours. I've had a new set of wheels for my grill sitting on the garage floor next to it for week now. Oh! they will get on before cooking season (I hope!) great to see you as always. thanks for sharing ECF.

Sigh! I already miss the pigs. Change is necessary and constant but it comes with the inevitable "feelings." I'm going to make a small chicken tractor and it was helpful seeing how you did it. Thanks Pete and Hillary!
Those little mini fence staples can sure be a pain. Good to see chick time coming. I have a small building here on the farm that I raise new layers in every spring, and sell most eggs at my neighbor's farm store. We had several inches of wet sloppy snow over the weekend here in Otsego County, it is mostly gone now. Maybe spring will come for good now. Glad to see Titus mixing in with the others- I know you said a while back that he was spending time off by himself. I bet he will be fine when he has his own harem.

Lot of thought on the brooders. We use the a plastic stock tank for the brooder now. Room for two dozen peeps and easy to clean and store. When done everything hangs up in the barn rafters.
We are on our second year of raising layer hens. Your wisdom on chickens is invaluable. Thank you!

Hi! I always enjoy your farming videos. Our springs here in Estonia 🇪🇪 are also very volatile. Here we had snow the night before yesterday and today we had +12C (54F) temperatures 😳 Last year at this time we still had ice on the rivers!

Hey Pete, spring is always a nice time of the year here in Wisconsin as well. The last couple mornings it's been in the upper teens. ( About minus 50 C) The days have been getting a little warmer up near 40. ( About 50 C) Although we're not in agriculture we all have our spring routine and have to get used to the longer work hours and longer days. Thanks for the great videos!

Just a thought Pete. If you were to put the water for the cows on the other side that would give more room for them to feed. Of course you would have to reroute the water supply. Nice work on the brooders.
Do you have any idea the extra complication that would cause in the winter? Why would I do that? They get plenty to eat; food is always in front of them.
I love the boxes and the future brooder plan…. But I miss the hogs in there… I know it’s a business…. But the hogs were great
