A very good window for Canada. I'm still bitter about the off-side US goal - I wanted clean sheets in both games! Can't wait for the October home match against Panama.
I would've loved to get both clean sheets. If only we had VAR we would've got them lol But still a great window from Canada. Don't think I ever could've imagined not loosing to either side and still thinking we could've got more. But October will be very exciting need to win and really prove how good we are.
Mexico worked their tactical plan perfectly only because the Ref allowed them to do so, especially in the 1st half. Mexico should have had at least 2 red cards, which would have changed the whole complextion of the match. The fact that Mexico clutched, grabbed, tripped etc...was an absolute compliment to Canada. Similarly to how Chile & Peru played against Canada, Mexico felt that they had to pull every kind of dirty trick to slow down Canada's very fast pace.
Couldn't agree more truly shows how far Canada has come. The fact a side like Mexico has to up the level intensity and play to compete with Canada just shows the improvement.
I think you can go both ways with it. -On the Mexico side, Mexico brought the physicality to break up the flow of the game so could Canada couldn't really be successful. -The refs will show how the game is dictated, and as a player you have you adjust to that. If a ref is gonna swallow their whistle, the players have to play through some physicality and stop looking back to the refs for fouls. -But on the Canada side, there's a reality that most CONCACAF teams will use this style of game to slow down Canada which means the chances you have you must bury. We weren't able to. Not bad not good either. -A draw isn't bad, but they need to learn to win these types of games consistently.
- Yeah Jesse Marsch has to learn from the match and instill into players now that they have to play through physicality and not continue to draw fouls. Be a bit different if we had a great freekick taker. Especially since it was Marsch first time experiencing a side playing true Concacaf football against him. - Yeah exactly draw isn't bad at all and never will be against Mexico. But agreed the game was there and it's a match Canada needs to start winning if we want to be the 'Kings of Concacaf'.

Mexico knew they needed intensity to compete against Canada, and they brought it. A sign of respect. 0-0 isn't bad.
