I'm not a motorbije guy, but I LOVE your Sand Raiders videos. You're very lucky to be able to get to remote and beautiful locations there. Safe riding I wish everyone ! And of course, no breakdowns !
I'm not a bike guy...but Sandraiders!!!! Yess!!! High point of the HG year! This goes totally over my head but I just love watching you guys nerd out over these bikes. This is RUclips treasure. Can't wait for the video(s) of the actual event. Thanks for taking the camera along as always Harry.
I had a 2001 650R I used for green laning. A bit OTT and certainly not the ideal bike for that but I loved it but obviously not as much as the thieving scumbag who stole it.😡
Yesssss... only just started watching, but just commenting to say that i'm sooo excited to see the adventures!! your Sandraiders videos are always such a treat to watch!
I had a pretty much identical bike to the Marlboro HPN in the video. Mine was an original R80G/S, uprated chassis by HPN, 1040 twin plug engine, extended carden shaft, same tank as on the Vid, plus an under seat tank, WP suspension with twin shocks at the rear. Took me solo from Cape Town to Zanzibar via a number of countries including Angola. Hell of a trip . . Had two big smashes on the way but survived to tell the tale . . .
I’m sure we’d all be happy for you to drop as many videos as you wish of the ridden sections with your adventures Harry 😊 Looking forward to seeing them after you wetted our appetite with a look round the paddock 👍
Harry and Charlie......Great to meet you at Gatwick south terminal on your return from Morocco, and thanks for the chat. Really appreciated it. Keep the channel thriving and all the best for the future. If you want to do a feature on a 99 996....give us a shout. Cheers guys.
The BMW is a G 650 XChallenge, based on the old 650 Rotax single cylinder. It was BMWs try to build a lightweight and sporty bike . It weights 155kilo with a full 9.5 liter tank.
Excellent, very much my thing, had one or two of these bikes back in the day - HPN BMW' g/s 's , Paris Dakar g/s's and 83 Honda XR 500 exactly like the one shown. . Thanks for the upload
Love the Sandraiders videos. In 2019 I bought in Ho Chi Ming City, Vietnam a 1983 Honda XL600R (well stole it really) for USD $1000 and used it for two years through CoVid whilst based out there. It's currently in storage with a friend, with a plan to find a way to bring it back to the UK. Would love to do Sandraiders. Looking forward to your video on the event. Stay safe.
I was on the lookout for my old 03 KTM450exc that I spent 2 weeks on in Morocco and Spain last year and intended to bring to the US, but was sold to a UK buyer who took it to this event.
That paddock is dirt bike heaven right there!😃👍 Do Sand Raiders '23, hit problems, make some mods and come back for '24.👍👍👍 Fair play to Charlie sticking with the kick starter, I hope he doesn't end up with an over developed right leg at the finish! Looking forward to the "race" coverage. 😀
Great stuff Harry and fantastic to meet you. does your friend need the part number for the Acerbis tanks as it took them several attempts to sort. Also thanks for the plug for Reuben's charity. I have managed to raise £3,600.00 so far. keep up the great videos. Mick
Thanks Mick, good to meet you too! I’ve just finished the edit of part 2 and the chat we had works really well. I think that total might climb a bit more after video goes out 5pm tomorrow, let’s see.. Jon is organising for his bike to go up to David Lambeth to be sorted and he has all the info on the right tank. If anything changes I’ll let you know. 👍
Wasn’t your Charlie supposed to do a video on 2 cagiva Elefant he was doing up? Thought he’d use one this year. Great entertainment as usual, thank you
how did the dominator cope? heavy in the sand ?- looking at a dominator or an xr 400 (im only 65kg) . the electric start might sway it - any thoughts ?
totlly awesome video!! some of the best bikes i have seen in a long time! Riding a modified 1998 Honda XR650L over here in Canada. love that bike and it goes anywhere I want it to...
Really nice presentation of the nice bikes, but sadly not a single Cagiva. I know that you both, Harry and Charlie, are big fans of the Cagiva Elefant. We are a big group of fans of the Elefant that'll meet at "Meeting Cagiva France" in late june. You are welcome to join us.
I had a xr 650L for years. A very reliable go anywhere hog for sure! But pushing it hard in a race 🏁 would be an absolute handful with soft suspension and a chassis that flexes
8th comment. One day I'll be first. Just shows how popular HG is. Great video as always. Love the bike ones as a none bike rider they are very interesting indeed. Cheers.
FYI, the fuel tank on the Dakar replica HPN Airhead BMW is 43 litres capacity. Regarding the BMW with the extended tank, standard capacity is 32 litres, so I'm (educated) guessing it is now 35 litres, or maybe even a tad more.
Great content, love me some old powerful sand beats. Harry, I will be sharing your vid with some of the MotoGP riders in Barcelona this weekend! New camera?
Hi there. How often do they run the sandraiders event. I've just passed the dakar truck and 3 sandraiders lorries and a support car,on the e15 motorway heading towards Almería southern spain. Cheers.
I'd love to have the resources and stamina to take part in that event, but I'll happily take second best and experience it vicariously through your videos! Speaking of videos, I seem to recall that we were teased with the suggestion of a few videos on the the resto of a cagiva about this time last year - is that still on?
John is a Very good Cameraman, with steady hands, captures and zooms perfectly brilliant
Another same old same old boring video
Great video love these different format type ones
@@anthonywbelcher No one's forcing you to watch lol
And the audio is perfect too
Great camera work!
How time flies. Just doesn't seem a year ago you were there last time.
Some real enthusiast's bikes on show. Great to come for the walk round.
Cheers
I'm not a motorbije guy, but I LOVE your Sand Raiders videos. You're very lucky to be able to get to remote and beautiful locations there. Safe riding I wish everyone ! And of course, no breakdowns !
yeah definite highlight of the channel!

I had a 1988 XR600R was a gem of a bike. Thank you for a trip down memory lane. Beautiful dakar KTM as well thanks for giving us a look at it
I had a 2001 650R I used for green laning. A bit OTT and certainly not the ideal bike for that but I loved it but obviously not as much as the thieving scumbag who stole it.😡
My favourite videos of the year! What great adventure the Sand Raiders must be
A cheeky non-Sunday video dropping Harry? Spoiling us!
Bad Harry, naughty Harry……. I wasn’t ready.

I love seeing you doing cool stuff with your son 😃👍
I was really hoping you were going to do the event again and presto, fantastic video and some amazing bikes. Looking forward to Part 2.
Harry may have a drum front but his disc definitely won’t fall off!
Yesssss... only just started watching, but just commenting to say that i'm sooo excited to see the adventures!! your Sandraiders videos are always such a treat to watch!
Always a great dynamic with you and Charlie. Really enjoyable video. Thanks!
I had a pretty much identical bike to the Marlboro HPN in the video.

Love it! Such a great energy in the air! Million thank yous for sharing this experience!!
Harry I enjoy your videos so much. I’m not a biker but I still found this very interesting
loving all the amazingly prepped 90s xr600r,s in the background, and those 2 dominators look amazing!!
Best video series on youtube! Dream team
I’m sure we’d all be happy for you to drop as many videos as you wish of the ridden sections with your adventures Harry 😊 Looking forward to seeing them after you wetted our appetite with a look round the paddock 👍
I've never been into motorbikes but I love this kind of video. Looking forward to part 2 when the race kicks off!
Ive had all the big singles, the dr 650 and dr 800 were in an altogether different league, stupendous bikes!
I really enjoy the sand raiders trip! It’s great that Harry and his son get to do it together!
Harry and Charlie......Great to meet you at Gatwick south terminal on your return from Morocco, and thanks for the chat. Really appreciated it. Keep the channel thriving and all the best for the future. If you want to do a feature on a 99 996....give us a shout. Cheers guys.
What a great looking event.
Such a great event and good to meet you both after a long day on Day 2.
That's the best looking collection of bikes I've ever seen.
I had to watch it on slow-mo to catch all the ones in the background.
Thank you, really nice to get to see a style of bikes I know little about.
Always good to see the Messrs Metcalfe on screen. Especially when they’re just chatting back and forth.
These are all great looking functional off road bikes. That red and white 1000 cc BMW is on 🔥.

Love the sandraiders episodes, would love to do something like that sometime!
Wow the year flew by. It doesn’t seem that long ago since your 23 sand raiders video.
Awesome, thanks guys, go safely
Love it, properly excited to see the next video. I can't wait for the day when doing things like this becomes attainable.
Can't believe it's come around again already, awesome
What a bonus for a Friday evening .
Wow! Amazing. What a trip. And another great video. Thanks chaps! 👏
Farming bikers like myself. Nice vid this, watched quite a few and enjoy them all!
I see several XR400’s there. One of the best all around bikes of all time. Have had mine for 20 years and it’s still amazing.
Love the Sandraiders videos. In 2019 I bought in Ho Chi Ming City, Vietnam a 1983 Honda XL600R (well stole it really) for USD $1000 and used it for two years through CoVid whilst based out there. Harry, ace watching yourself and Charlie together, bikes look amazing. Looking forward to Sandraider updates.👍
Great stuff lads. I've been looking forward to this since last year.
I was on the lookout for my old 03 KTM450exc that I spent 2 weeks on in Morocco and Spain last year and intended to bring to the US, but was sold to a UK buyer who took it to this event.
Question: What have you done to your bikes for this Sandraiders run?
Harry: I made the exhaust quieter.
Charlie: I rebuilt the entire bike. 😂😂😂
Bigger foot pegs.
That paddock is dirt bike heaven right there!😃👍
Do Sand Raiders '23, hit problems, make some mods and come back for '24.👍👍👍
Fair play to Charlie sticking with the kick starter, I hope he doesn't end up with an over developed right leg at the finish!

Thought I had lost couple days in my head. It’s not Sunday though. That parts good news. Extra video!
Enjoy the sand raiders coverage. Thank you for posting. Ps if its possible to get one of the Kove rallys in for review, that would be great.
Very excited!!
This was a nice surprise. Shame on Harry for walking past more than 1 KTM640Adv without comment.....
Great video, some of us have no interest in videos of cars we can't afford
. Great can't wait
Thanks for the great coverage again! Would love to participated too but Seems like the lines of a classic enduros are slowly thinning out.
Your bike is spectacular!
Lovely video !
YES! Love love love! Stay safe lads!
Excellent vid.
I love these videos 😊
Brilliant videos, love it. The Harry Dakar. 😂
FYI, the fuel tank on the Dakar replica HPN Airhead BMW is 43 litres capacity. Regarding the BMW with the extended tank, standard capacity is 32 litres, so I'm (educated) guessing it is now 35 litres, or maybe even a tad more.

Cheers.
