  • The Indiana Fever doesn’t want Skylar Diggins-Smith on their team? Well according to Skylar they don’t, lets find out why and where Skylar might go next.
    What’s up awesome people of the internet. You know the saying that beggars can’t be choosers right, well it seems like Lin Dunn and the Indiana Fever are being a bit choosy about who joins their team.

    I hope Skylar goes to the Chicago Sky. She would be an upgrade over their current PG. Plus Sky playing for the Sky? Imagine the marketing possibilities. And the Sky is actually closer to her fan base in South Bend than the Fever.

    I agree w/ Indiana passing on Skylar (as great as she's been and is) and rolling the dice all in on Clark declaring for the draft. Like you said, it could backfire and leave egg on their face if she stays in college; but that is the gamble I would also take. Yes Skylar could mentor her, but would Skylar be cool w/ coming off the bench? Clark is generational and has so much star power that Indiana has to start her right away from a basketball and business standpoint.
    (Full disclosure- I already bought tix to the Fever vs Liberty game in Brooklyn on June 2...so Clark better be starting 😂🤣😂)

      Yes I agree. If think if Skylar comes off the bench and is more of a mentor to Clark, Skylar wouldn't have it. In turn, I think even if it would be Clark's inaugural foray into the WNBA, she has a pretty big ego herself, and if things got tough and coach put Skylar in more often, Clark might be miffed about it. I think the Fever are right in going for a "fresher" roster.

    If The Fever are attempting to rebuild organically through the draft like The Aces once did then that's probably why they're passing on SDS.. To pair Aliyah Boston 23 (#1 draft pick) with Caitlin Clark and Nalyssa Smith ( 2022 #2 pick the draft).. Kelsey Mitchell and others seems to be their major play for the immediate future.
    The Fever could use additional veteran help with added scoring punch and passing, yes, but maybe they don't wanna take on Skylar's spicy and tangy attitude now that they think they'll keep improving immensely since they again...to have the luck of the lotto ball...not to mention Grace Berger and Lexie Hull need playing time too.....

    Skylar would be a definite improvement. however, the Libs may have committed to Sloot for another year, and we know that Stewie and Sloot are tight. but in terms of being more competitive vs the Aces, and vying for the championship, Skylar could/would be the ticket.

    As someone who lived in Indiana for many years, i would not second guess Lin Dunn. at all. Not only does she have one of the finest basketball minds around, she also has been known to have many "steps"in her mind. If Caitlin doesn't declare, you can rest assure that she has a backup plan or two, there is no doubt about that. As for Skylar, while she does have skill, her actions on/off the court has changed how valuable she is to teams...very skilled vs poor attitude. In today's world with all of the skill out there, why would any team take a risk? People like that can interrupt the flow and direction of a team, and there is certainly no room for that on any team.

    (Disclaimer: I am a big Iowa & CC fan...& a big Skylar fan too.) And another thing, I can't stand it when Caitlyn pushes off w/her left forearm, usually when she drives the right side. The refs never call it & her coach appearently doesn't call her out on it either. I'm sure her father knows better-he should address it since no one else is. That's not gonna fly at the next level; for 1 thing, she'll be going up against grown #$% women, they're not going to move out of the way. What's the line from the movie Rudy, "You're 5 foot nothin', you weigh 100 & nothin." Also Caitlyn gets frustrated appearently easily-that's not gonna fly in the W either. Can you see a scenerio where CC picks up 2 quick fouls by any of the following: The long stare at the ref after contact w/no call, the forearm she uses to create space, those imature retaliatory pushes & shoves due to frustration...I sure can. 2 quick whistles then straight to the bench she will go. Now who you gonna put in🤔

    • @User_xxCqqA
      @User_xxCqqA 9 месяцев назад

      Y'all know ball? Notice that her defender's arm/hands is always in front of her whenever she runs to the basket, that is clearly a foul. If you reach in, it means you are 1-2 steps late. You can't guard with your hand. You have to guard with your body and move your feet fast. Cut angles. This is where veteran NBA players milk their points so much in the ft line.

    • @shoofly529
      @shoofly529 9 месяцев назад

      Interesting points, I'll be on the lookout for them. The plays I see CC throw her forearm are the one's where the defender is step-for-step with her; out comes the forearm to create seperation. For the plays you point to where CC has already beaten her defender, to my mind since the defender is already beaten, (behind CC & reaching in) there's no need to push off & you really couldn't because would be reaching backwards to do so. CC has a great change-of-speed move; I think it's her best one. What CC's next step should be though is to develop more core strength so she'll be able to drop her hips lower then the defenders'. In basketball, the player who's in a lower stance, & can stay in one longer, has a big advantage. One would think that the taller a person is, the more advantage they have, but not necessarily so.
      Could you imagine how unguardable CC would be if she developed a rocker-step? With her 3-point %, you'd have to come way out from the 3-point line, then a jab step, the defender steps back, then a ball fake, the defender jumps forward towards her, then CC lowers her body & drives right by a defender who looks like they're on skates! Or if the defender doesn't bite on the ball fake, shoot the open 3. Below is a short vid of MJ's rocker step:

      @@shoofly529 I think because that specific move is not so common with WBB. If you see James Harden plays, his defender is always being called for a foul because of this. Passing on Skylar is crazy but that's Indy. They aren't screwed if CC stays in college. I like Paige more anyway. They need to move on from Mitchell and most definitely wheeler. With all that said though I would like to see Sky in Minnesota. I don't think Connecticut is a good fit because AT is not as effective without the ball in her hands.

    Dillusional. Start Caitlin off the bench lol All the chips on Caitlin Clark... What do you think!!! It's a no brainer Caitlin is a generational talent and anyone who disagrees is either a hater or blind. The only question and it is the only question is the Fever's style of play, the coaches style of play.. Caitlin plays up tempo, transition offence and defence so you have to be extremely fit, be able to run the floor for easy buckets, move the ball at pace, not half court slow lethargic basketball, that will determine Caitlin's decision because Caitlin isn't going to the WNBA to be comfy in the mid-west with her boyfriend and her good friend in Aliyah Boston she wants to win so if they will be playing a fast up tempo moving the ball, passing quickly style of basketball like say Golden State she will go, if it's going to be half court slow build up style, she won't.. It's how Caitlin plays and always has that's what makes her so great and why Iowa have been tough to beat, play against.

She will be number 1 pick, player of the year again and all the other awards break all the records, have a deep run with an average Iowa team and then the WNBA where she will play a little defence aswel, but she will be the star of that team of that I have no doubt..

Many superstars coming out of college have needed to learn and adjust to the pro game not that I think she needs either but stop acting like people can't have an opinion about goddess unless it's worship and adore. If you don't like this commentators view go find a Catlin worship page it's plenty of them out there.
