I did! I talked about it more in my everything I made in 2023 video. It's slow going but I want to make a short, and I've done a lot of design work, have one of the rigs almost done and the story is mostly there and sections are boarded. I want to get stuck into it again soon and make more progress this year
This is a great video. I really appreciate when industry professionals take the time to demystify what it's like to work in the industry. Currently working on some prop design to include in my portfolio so thanks a bunch for making this :).
finally decided in my last year of college for animation I want to focus on being a prop designer so thank you for making such an educational video it is legit a life saver
Thank you for sharing your job! I was reminded of this title by accident and realized I did something similar and enjoyed it; I might take a look at it again now :)
This is by far one of the most helpful video, I have seen. I was curious on how a day looks like so seeing this acted out was really great and gave a very realistic view! Thanks!
Thank you, I'm glad to hear it! It depends on the production really, I've worked on a bigger budget Disney show and the rigging was all handled by someone else, but on smaller shows sometimes you have to wear a few hats at once.
I really enjoyed this video! thanks for explaining your role in so much depth, I really liked hearing your thoughts about the design process and how you split your time during the week
It depends on where you are of course, but there's a fairly lively industry in Ireland anyway. When live action shut down at the start of the pandemic, animation was in a unique position to continue ticking along with everyone working from home. But I do have to say I don't think it's made it any more valued as a medium. In a lot of places, wages aren't great for the skill required, contracts are short so you're always hopping around and the kinds of working conditions you can expect is a gamble from project to project. I'm not trying to put you off but there are some realities that I'm sure people would want to know before going in!
@@DrawBoySeanie Thanks man! Yeah, everything here on the east coast of the US is video game related. 3d and such. I’m looking for some traditional 2d work. Of course with Covid and everyone working from home maybe I could get a job with an Irish company. Haha Cheers
This was amazing . Prop artist videos and articles are very hard to find..
This is the BEST day in the life i have seen for animation. thank you for the transparency down to the spreadsheet/process.
Hey, thank you! I'm really glad you found it valuable! Transparency was important to me when I was making it :)
Did you ever flesh this concept out? Rocket power, about a band? Sounds amazing.

Hey 👋 I’m looking for my frist trainee role in animation as prop designer trainee ! Really great vlog
Did you get it?
This is very informative! There isn't a lot of informative on prop design on RUclips so thank you!
Hey I'm really glad you found some value in it! I didn't really know anything about the job until I started doing it, and it's really fun!
@@DrawBoySeanie Wow that's great! Maybe I'll consider the job myself :D
This is so interesting - I don't know why I've never really considered this area of animation as much!
I hadn't really either until I got into a prop design role, and it's really fun!
I really enjoyed this video! thanks for explaining your role in so much depth, I really liked hearing your thoughts about the design process and how you split your time during the week
Hey Parker, sorry for my delay in getting back to you, it slipped my mind! I'm really glad you found some value in it! Thanks for watching :)
Your job sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing your process
Oh damn I missed this one, sorry! Thanks for watching :)
It will be cool if you make a video explaining about drawing in perspective and different angles
This was super informative; thank you for sharing!
Hey! I'm glad you got something out of it, thanks for watching.
Kitten Spit is the best band name ever!
Haha, I agree! My friend Dee came up with it and I gave the name to my real band, but we haven't done much in a while and I couldn't let the name go!
do you work in a office or are you doing all of this in your own room?
Normally I would be in a studio but I've been working from home for the past couple of years because of the thing, you know
@@DrawBoySeanie damn i see thanks for telling me
Things are drying up what I’m doing now - is animation going well?
