My first sonic plush was the sonic underground plush. I would play with it a lot and have sonic team up with mario, spiderman, batman, superman, and other toys of mine. They would face against bowser, venom, scar, wario, and even mechagodzilla. As time went on I collected other plushes/toys that I would play with that would be part of the story that I made up when playing with them. Toon Link, meta knight, donkey kong, yoshi, knuckles, luigi, pikachu, tails, shadow, ironman, captain america, the flash, red and chuck from angry birds, ect. I even had my own characters that I made up like a guy in a robotic mech suit that would be the main villain creating evil plans and robots to take down sonic and the gang. But now that im older and in high school I don't play with my toys anymore, but I still keep them around for the memories. I still collect figures from time to time, like I got a new spiderman and the flash figure, Loki from thor ragnarock, goku, master chief, the predator, ect. I do have new plushes like diddy kong and Raichu. I think that if I ever have kids I'll give them my old toys so that they can take sonic, mario, spiderman, godzilla, and the others on another adventure. I like your video because it made me think about my first sonic plush, which made me go down memory lane. Back to the good old days when all I needed was sonic and my imagination to go on an adventure. Sonic to me was what woody was to andy, nuff said.
A re-do of this plush with the correct amount of back spikes (so it doesn’t look completely authentic because idiots would buy it at humongous prices thinking it;s the original) would be great!
Did a quick human translation of the Japanese he posted. "That is the first plush for testing (Test Plush. Japanese sentence order is a little strange sometimes. Literal translations am I right?). It is one of a kind. He is standing." Not sure how to properly translate 1990年物, I could ask a friend what that means.
Except the whole video is wrong lol. Its not the first plush he should just delete this big fat lie. He was getting close towards the beginning. This plush used for testing is the basis used for the Tomy UK sonic plush dated 1991/1992. This dude is a complete fool making a video like this and not even making sure his facts are correct. You can own a decent similar looking plush by searching UK ebay. Talking about sonics finalized design is good points but not when his mouth is to the side and shine spot on his eyes like the final release sonic. Smh what a moron.
At 5:30 , the Japanese text is: 「それは最初ののテストのためねいぐるみです。1点物。彼はたっている。1990年物」 To translate a bit more literally (instead of naturally): "That's the (very) first (for the sake of) test plushie. one-of-a-kind item. He's standing. Circa 1990" The word 最初 is like "the very beggining" or "most first" The word 1点物 basically confirms this is a "1 of 1" item The word 1990年物 means like "circa 1990" , as in something made in that year, so it was made in 1990 !
Do you think you’d ever have a rarest sonic items (non plush) episode? I have some really great contenders for rarest sonic item. I even own some! There could even be a 1 of a kind episode, like the tom kalinksi sonic statue, and a “for public release” rarest sonic item, like the 10th anniversary wine glass, I own that as well. I’d be more than happy to take high quality video of some of my stuff for your vids. I’m a big fan of the work!
Thank you!! And yes, I would love to make videos like that! Those are some really legendary items and definitely deserve videos in the future. That's so cool you own them! If I ever do end up making videos on them, I'll message you for pics or videos of the items if needed. You have some really cool stuff in your collection, I remember watching your old unboxing videos way back when, it's crazy that you'd want to help me with my videos. Again, thank you!
haha, you watched those!!!!!? Oh man, I was going for a Keith Apicary kind of character, and looking back, I think it was more or less offensive! Are you on the "Sonic the hedgehog Collections" FB group? Shoot me a message on there if you'd like!

Another absolutely fantastic video! I could seriously watch these videos all day long, dude - you’ve got a serious talent for keeping your viewers constantly entertained and eager for more. Great work as always! :D
I have a classic sonic plush from 1991 - 1992, but im not super sure when or where he originally came from. He looks really good, is in good condition, and I rescued him from an outdoor garage sale. I don't even see any on eBay......
Is it gonna spund crazy that my birthday is on July 26th? And hugely coincidence I've learn that Sonic in Japan release was in exact date before I was born???? July 26th?? Now I feel like so speical for it!

Great video, love your content so much!!!!!!! I do hope you keep on making sonic plush vids I love them so much, I didn’t even know this was a thing until now ,thank you.
I still have a Sonic plush that my, at the time, best friend gave me for my birthday all the way back in kindergarten in I think '98. He came with hard plastic eyes and a nose of the same material. He ended up losing an arm during a sleepover with a horrible kid who demanded that I let him have my beloved plushie. My grandma sewed him a new one, so now he has an arm that's made of a different material, is a different color and wears a black glove (I insisted on it because it would look cool.) My friend ended up moving away early into 1st grade and we failed to keep in touch. I understand now that I had a huge crush on her, which made her moving away hurt extra for me. Anyways, that's how a Sonic plushie from over 20 years ago became a constant reminder of the only thing in my life that I regret.
I’m not sure if you’re too interested in it, but have you ever thought about covering the Sanei Pikmin plus set? I collected them as a kid, and when I saw the World of Nintendo Pikmin plush, I was happy to see more Pikmin merch, but a little disappointed that they didn’t have different versions of the Pikmin with leaves, buds or flowers on their head.
Wow dude. You have been rolling out a lot of videos lately. That's good though because there isn't a lot of sonic collectors these days anymore. I also found a suprising plush in the Sega Sonic plush line. I don't think it is that well known either. It is almost a foot. Do you wanna take a look at it? You know what, the original Sonic plush is probably the first Sonic thing in GENERAL to ever be released to the public. It's pretty incredible it's been preserved for the past 25 almost 30 years.
I know this is an old video, but I remember my first Sonic plush. It was the Fun 4 All Adventue Sonic Plush with the weird double stripes on the shoes. I got it for Christmas and thought it looked not like how I wanted it, so like a year later I asked for the Build A Bear Sonic. It was available at the time so I got it online. I actually got the Tails in store before that. Now I have the Movie Sonic Build A Bear, And the Toy Factory Modern Sonic plush, but since I had the Build A Bear, I colored his eyes black. Also I remember you tweeting a couple of years ago that the Fun 4 All Sonic Plush is RARE, so that would be cool if it is.
I literally got a SA1 plush from japan in a Sega Sonic UFO Capture from a small toy store for about 5 dollars. I didn't say how rare it was because it would make them change the price, but I knew it was a steal!
hahaha good video 10/10 (no really this video was really good! also will you ever review the 2018 sonic plushes with the chao, vector, super sonic, amy, sonic, etc. since it is march? or when it is released?)
Is this the Tomy plush? That’s the one I had as a kid and still have today! Unfortunately my one from back in the day was destroyed in 2014 by our new dog, so I had to search for another one on ebay

The Sonic plush that was used during the original pitching looks absolutly amazing. I would want a duplicate of it.
ModmamiaMardmamia i
ModmamiaMardmamia, me two.
Me Fourth
Agreed
Same
Never would've thought a plush toy could as much history as the series itself
That's Sonic for ya
Not to mention how high quality its design is, even compared to the modern plushes.

TheGuyWhoIsSitting Cool! I was wondering what he really said since Google Translate is extremely literal, which is especially bad for Japanese.
Im not sure the point of your post. He broke down the google translation perfectly (9 years in Japan here).
I know. Just a confirmation to let him know he got it right.
(I just gonna guess this.) Made in 1990.

That Sonic plush looks great! Especially amazing because it’s the first Sonic plush!
This looks awesome, I never knew about this, I always thought stringy sonic was the first plush

You should do a video on the 1993 Mario Kart plush line, I’ve always had a soft spot for the unique plastic karts they came with
What a pure looking plush. :3
Too think that the sonic franchise started not with a game, but with a plush toy.
Incredible
Holy shit that test plush is incredible. One could only dream of TOMY remaking it as a throwback
OMG you are so close to having 25,000 subs! Go luck to getting those last few subs good luck!

That plush is in really nice condition for being 28 years old

Very well done Pat.

@Jake P mine didnt ever have one so i think thats a different one
patmac even though this has nothing to do with videogames you should talk about the toysru s closing where will I shop for my sonic stuff!
That was really cool
When you go overboard with concept art and make a plush instead.
This channel is great
Happy 100th video!
PatMac this plush was CLEARLY the inspiration for the TOMY one made around 1991/1992. You can see it from a mile away.
Also,if i'm not mistaking, that TOMY one is the first sonic push that came in Europe.
4:45
The art on the left looks like adventure/advance sonic
I believe that’s an Ohshima sketch of Super Sonic
Why are these videos so gooood aaaaa

I would love to see more videos like this, maybe one on Kirby next? (Edit: just say SuperSonic's video, how bout Kirby?)
Why do you just have 24k (almost 25k subs)? You deserve a lot more (now 45k)
Your sir got an impressive collection
For the first Sonic plush, I'm amazed at how good it looks.
I was actually wondering this earlier today :D
Is this the Tomy plush? That’s the one I had as a kid and still have today! Unfortunately my one from back in the day was destroyed in 2014 by our new dog, so I had to search for another one on ebay
Something unrelated to sonic, but relating to plushies. Any plush relating to anyone unknown, the one i have is a pacman one...
I remember once getting a shadow plush and the tag said Mario party.
Neat video.
7:05 it's kirb!
Patmac: What was the first Sonic Plush?
LSuperSonicQ: The Mystery of the first Mario Plush

I have the one thats at super sonics right side
Also if some people say that they were lazy or it was a mistake about sonic plush with 1 backspine on that sonic
Its possible that this was sonic’s early design ever since beforr the 2 spines
Hey patmac I really liked this video :D keep it up
Can you do a video on the sonic the hedgehog impact innovations plush line I have sonic, tails and knuckles but there is a eggman but I’ve never seen any photos of it but it is on the box and says “collect all 4” it would be interesting to see what happens to it
you should do a look back on stretch armstrong even if he's not a video game character he is still SUPER cool...........just an idea. btw you make AWESOME videos
I wish I had that because it looks so awesome!
Are you gonna do an episode on the jazwares plushies?
dude that plush is even better than any of the new ones
0:34 I REALLY want this boi
Sweet. I have actually seen a plush that looks like that one

Great. Now I want a standing Sonic plush.
I wish current Sonic merchandise makers(TOMY) would make a Sonic plush that can stand on its own.
Thats such a cool plush that it stands
i like ur vids, theyre really "NOISE"
