With the recent sale for $120 (US Amazon), I feel like these would likely be well worth it at that price point. But they've been at that price before, which is why I chose the Pixel Watch 2 as my free item with my 8 Pro. They were actually delivered today while I was at the office, so I am eager to set it up and be rocking my full Pixel hardware setup.
I think what should have been made clear, is to say these are hands down the best functioning earbuds on P8 and P8P. If you consider Music alone, Bose best earbuds are 300usd, and if you think the quality of sound is mind blowing better... it's not. True audiophiles wouldn't bother with buds most of the time. They'd be using studio quality stuff to get proper balanced audio and hear it true to mix. Also mind blowing that these were free with a preorder of P8... Google is matching apple features, but giving them away for free.
Love my buds pro from the launch of the Pixel 7 Pro. I was tempted to update just for the colour. However, they work perfectly and thanks to them getting all these updates, I've no reason to replace them. I've tried many high end brands but these are really the best thanks to their dedicated pixel features and excellent sound quality for music.
Hello my friend, i also have a pixel 7 pro and I was wondering how the pixel buds pro work with it, have you try some gaming with them like PUBG or COD? i have read about some problems with the latency
I have a set of XM3s, Nothing Ear 2s, and Pixel Buds A. Out of all three I'd say the PBAs are the best overall. The NE2s sound better, but cost more and ANC isn't great. The XM3s sound the worst, cost the most, ANC is not great, and they have the longest dialogue on start up or mode change. I don't think the NE2s sound advantage outweighs the price disadvantage. The PBAs are what I would recommend unless you absolutely need ANC. Not sure about that because I haven't used a set of buds that do a good job.
Decided to give them a shot today. They are on sale for $119 on Amazon in all the colors except Bay, which is fine since I wanted Coral. Hoping they will replace my AirPods Pro Gen 2. The multipoint conmection is what finslly pushed me over the edge and the price was right.
Just tested them while on a busy street and the Clear Call feature is worth alone the price! I also have the Bose Quiet Comfort Ear buds bought last year and while they are in my opinion still the ANC King in the ear bud category but in a busy environment like on a street with traffic, they still can sound bad to the other person. The Pixel buds pro sounded as if i was talking from my bedroom!! Same story with the Sony WF-1000XM4, as they also cannot compete with the Pixel Bud Pro when it comes to call quality.
Have you ever tried the Huawei Free Buds Pro? They are amazing even on a bicycle with windy conditions. Half the price, but haven't tested the Pixel Buds Pro yet. But I agree, many other headphones suck in regards to calling. I had the Samsung buds pro 2, Bose quiet comfort 2 and Sony wmxi 2 or however they are called. I'm selling my Pixel Buds Pro atm which I got with my Pixel 8. Have fun anyway brother!
The one feature I am looking for most on any wireless earphones is the call quality. I have tried Bose, Nothing, Pixel Buds, RHA etc etc but people on the other end of my calls all complain about the background noise drowning me out. From your experience it seems these PBP at least do a decent job of tackling that.
I just picked these up based on that. My Linkbuds S just dropped off in battery life and my waxy ears did something really weird to their mics which was the final factor in declaring them a dead pair because until then, they were the best for call quality I had found yet.
Don't make the same mistake as me. I've been using the Sony XM3 for over 3 years and then the right ear suddenly won't charge fully and I get only 20 minutes out of it. I saw that the Pixels Buds Pro was $40 off on BestBuy Canada and it also had better rating than the Sony XM5 and on top of that I watched Marquees Browlee's review of it then was sold on purchasing it. Big mistake. The sound quality isn't nearly as good as the Sony XM3. And now I realized BestBuy Canada changed their policy few years back on used headphones and won't accept them (even though BestBuy USA still allows it). What gives!
Just updated the last version and it seems to have given all the stuff you are talking about on the news ones. Sound is great on these. So not enough to update this time round 👍 Nice review again.
Hey can someone confirm if these are same pixel buds which launched last year & only the colour is new. I have recently bought these buds in sale but the release date says 2022 so just curious.
I preordered the Pixel 8 Pro and with the 10% Google store credit via being subbed to Google One, that netted me $135 in credit. I picked the Google Watch 2 as my preorder bonus, and sold it for $350. And with the $135 credit, I ended up getting the Buds Pro on a Black Friday deal for $60. Not too bad. Now my Dudios Zeus TWS can be retired or thrown to the way side. Yay!
This is basically Pixel Buds 2022, since all the new features have already landed in last years Buds. Only difference is for this year is the new colour
Thanks for the video. The one feature I was looking forward to was the AI noise cancelling on calls, for some reason *ALL* headphones even ones with beam forming mikes seem to amplify the surrounding noises rather than ones voice, even with my mouth only 4 inches away it seems to pick up the conversation of people 30 feet away (go figure)

Hey Chris, love your reviews. I've been a fan for quite some time. My apologies, this comment is unrelated to the product being reviewed. I was hoping you would provide a 6 month / long term review of the regular Galaxy S23. I'm trying to determine if my next phone will be the Pixel 8 or the S23. The audio quality imo is absolutely fine, very good even especially if you cutom EQ or use something like XEQ which is free. For me its the other features and the easy integration that I love.
comparing costs of earbuds is almost impossible. MSRP means nothing outside a few brands. At least in the USA, Samsung buds pro2 are easily had for free with a phone, or $50 and on sale every month for $119. The Pixel buds, similar, are free with the Pixel 8 and regularly on sale for $129. To compare them to Sony or Bose, is not fair, neither Sony/Bose worth 2-4x more than Sammy or Big G. Honestly, I don't even know how they sell so much. Perhaps internationally. Its hard to find anything but Apple, Samsung, or Pixel in the wild. Airpods Pro are on sale every other month for $199.
These things are buggy as hell for me, super annoying. The call audio always disconnects randomly so my calls don't come through my earbuds, and Google assistant disconnects at the same time too.
I have had mine for a week now. I encountered a bug where conversation detection enables without a conversation or sometimes doesn't detect conversations at all. It was a one time bug though. Maybe I'll find some more while using.

Had 2 sets of the last generation of buds. First set got sent back to Google because the right bud gave out on me and now the 2nd set has lost proper anc. Needless to say I won't be buying another pair .
I'm confused are these different from the original ones? I guess what I'm trying to ask is the pixel buds pro I already have they are getting the same update correct?

EQ helps but still rather grievously insufficient. You called it, mate, although you're more diplomatically inclined than I'll ever be.
The Pixel 8 Pro does support LDAC and APTX HD. The Pixel Buds don't appear to support LDAC or APTX HD. However, they do support something called Opus. I'm currently messing with the settings. They sound really good, especially for the price and what they do.
Does the ANC seem to turn on by itself with anyone else? It sounds stupid, but the AC or the wind will blow past my ears and turn on the ANC when I don't want it to be on. Has anyone else had this happen?
That function for pause the music when detectig conversations durin transparency cannot be turned off?😮. I need it at work, i listening to music at low volume while I'm talking with my team... This is vital, i think it's the main reason why I still didn't order them
I got mine free with my pixel 7. The only serious issue is noise cancelling which is poor. I havent noticed an improvement since the update. I have in fact discovered a bug which causes nc to be off even though its turned on in the app. I fix it by turning it off then back on again. The new voice detection function is flawed for the same reason it is on any headphones. It just gets triggered unintentionally on a regular basis. So for me it stays off. In general though i am happy with the buds. The general sound is good, spatial sound is good. They are comfortable and have decent battery life. The apps function being built into a pixel phone is an argument for them if you have a pixel phone. The sonys and the bose may be better but they cost more. I would say if you want to save a bit of cash and arent too bothered about good nc then they are worth it.
@@Saurabh-hx1yp nobody likes voice detection on headphones and nobody thinks the nc on pixel buds is anything more than mediocre at best. Does that mean everyone should throw their headphones away? I did say despite certain things they are still overall good.
A number of the features mentioned came with the caveat of having a Pixel 8/8 Pro, is that just some Google-aided marketing spunk? I'm guessing that all features will be available if you pair them with almost any Pixel, probably most other blowers too.
The Ones never stand in my ear especially the right one. Never could wear them without a beanie ....so I switched to Link bud S and doesn't have problems.
Don't do update to 4.0.0 . It will ruin them, a shhhhhh noise will be present in one of the buds after 1-2bof usage in Ambient Mode or ANC. I returned 2 of them.
Same. Sadly ordered directly via Google for 230€ 😒. Wanted to immediately return but got tempted to try them. Compared to my XM4s these are a joke. Sound, ANC and Clear mode. Only advantage is the platform consistency with my Pixel.
I have Bose over-ear Bluetooth headphones, which are the best sounding ones I own. They are not audiophile-good. Nothing Bluetooth will be that great. I also have Shoks open run pro for when out walking and want to hear my surroundings. I didn't need more Bluetooth headphones, but I bought a pixel 8 and it came with free buds, so I'll give them a go. Tempted to just sell them, but also curious if they're a nice compromise between my Bose over ears and Shoks things... We'll see.
I've just taken a punt on these, but got them for £120 on a sale to pair them with my pixel phone. Will see how they compare to my Samsung buds+. Edit. Pretty good. But I found some good eq settings on reddit to try. Then I used the wavelet app and found another custom import setting and loaded that. Headphones have gone from pretty good to excellent now.
Googles tactic: Make everything expensive. Include it to the expensive phone so so the phone doesn't seem expensive. Lower price on the expensive thing later so you only pay 50% more that it's worth so you feel good about the purchase. Pointing this out: "WHAtaBoutaA IphoNe Aplle???!!!"

@@Saurabh-hx1yp nobody likes voice detection on headphones and nobody thinks the nc on pixel buds is anything more than mediocre at best. Does that mean everyone should throw their headphones away? I did say despite certain things they are still overall good.
@@markwallis5395 the way you are crying seems like you should throw it away. Maybe you are a Karen lol
Sony released the Pulse Explore earbuds that are $200 also and they dont sport any features at all really.
A number of the features mentioned came with the caveat of having a Pixel 8/8 Pro, is that just some Google-aided marketing spunk? I'm guessing that all features will be available if you pair them with almost any Pixel, probably most other blowers too.
I can't help but notice that it looks a lot like you have a OnePlus foldable somewhere around 😅
What is your favourite true wireless earbud Tech Spurt??
They are heavy and uncomfortable. Wish I could return mine.
Heavy? Wtf
Same. Sadly ordered directly via Google for 230€ 😒. Wanted to immediately return but got tempted to try them. Compared to my XM4s these are a joke. Sound, ANC and Clear mode. Only advantage is the platform consistency with my Pixel.
I managed to get my 🍋 grass color pros for 120 quid of Amazon new, 199 quid is a new phone price
Why are they so damn high now I went to get a replacement estimate online and there $500 and over lmao
We'll see.
I blagged mine on Facebook marketplace place £60 used like once bargin.
They are giving them away free with Pro 8 preorders.
please tell me you can disable conversation detection.
You can
yay thanks@@SanguinePink
Hey my favourite uncle ❤❤❤
these aren't a new version it's the same as the original release
Ah that baby blue colour is so tempting! But the price of both the Pixel Buds Pro (v2?) and the Pixel 8/8 Pro this close to Christmas!
Pointing this out: "WHAtaBoutaA IphoNe Aplle???!!!"
maybe when they'll be bt5.3
Conversation detection works too well it pauses even when you clear your throat
Is there a way to turn it off

After the latest firmware update, these buds are some of the best buds I've owned. Good thing I didn't listen to the audiophiles who trashed on these!
Gigachad Miku enjoyer
when did you last go jogging eh lol !
At full price, no these aren't worth it! Not as long as soundcore, the oneplus buds 2 and the nothing buds 2 exist
So basically the Pixel Buds are just ok.
Bro got OnePlus open
No. Put 200 quid towards a car or house
I've got mild tourettes - this product might not be for me 🙈
I'll watch until this lad says "lughole(s)"... :D (won't be long)
Am I the only one that's creeped out by this dude having teenage anime girls on his phone?
Lmao the dudes a cretin
He's also a man of culture.
