  • In Guatemala the extermination continues. In the middle of a hopless electoral process, the voice of dignity rises, the voices of the women who defend life. We are birthing the sun, we are organizing hope, we are writing our own future. Today and forever #ElijoDignidad

Beautiful documentary. I remember Atitlán... Guatemala es tan lindo, y la gente es la más linda que he conocido. Keep doing what you're doing and stay strong.

Amazing and wonderfully eye-opening and inspiring, because I am a fifty-seven-year-old white guy here in Southern California where I am surrounded by massive amounts of pollution ... where I am encapsulated in a miasma of modern filth, noise pollution with a freeway (actually, it's not free) not more than a quarter of a mile away screaming all night long ... where I am inundated by poisonous industrial waste pollutants invading my lungs. I have changed a lot over the last fifty-seven years. I have become more aware. I have become more educated ... that is, more SELF-educated. I have awakened to the facts and the truth of the illusion of our political systems around the world, and obviously, of the one here in the United States where the biggest lies of all are told over and over, and over, and over, again, and again, and again ... ad nauseam.
I sold my gas-guzzling Jeep three months ago and I bought an electric-assist bicycle to do all of my errands and grocery shopping. I discovered that with this new bicycle, I am going outside more and I find myself riding to the beach more. There is very little to almost no nature here. The forest up in the mountains above Los Angeles is dying. Pine trees are and have been so choked with air pollution over the last 100 years, that they are all turning brown and dying. Forest fires have become normal here. Mega-metropolises like Southern California where you can't tell where Santa Barbara starts and San Diego ends because it is ALL one, GIANT conglomeration of cement, glass, steel, plastic, vinyl, and rubber. City and neighborhood parks are not nature. I yearn to get out of this place. I have yet to convince my wife that leaving here will extend our lives. Leaving here will make us happy. Well, it will make me happy, anyway.
Indigenous peoples have always had it right all along. Nature is my temple. Nature is OUR temple. Our Goddess. Our life! Money is bullshit. I have said this for years, but the human species is the ONLY living species on this planet that has to PAY to live on Mother Earth. No other species live in this illusion. They are lucky because they're intellect is simple and truthful and honest. They don't lie to themselves or to others because they exist at this very moment. That's why your pets love you unconditionally, they accept you no matter what you look like, or what you smell like, or how happy, angry, or sad you are. They don't know or care whether you are rich or poor, they love you anyway.
Sadly, our species ... the human being is taught to judge everyone and everything from the day we are born. I am not a religious person. But, I am spiritual. Goddess is coming back into power ... the Aquarian age is upon us ... no, it's not in full swing just yet, but her arrival is here, she's on the doorstep, and where the patriarch had to wipe his boots as he entered, she doesn't because her feet are bare because they ARE the earth! She is the earth! The old man has to leave now, and he is kicking and screaming and gnashing his infantile teeth as he is being kicked out the door. He'll be back in about 2,500 years or so, but until then, it is time for the feminine to reign supreme once again. The ebb and flow of galactic energies plod along and life continues to live and die as it always has done from the very beginning.
