The Indian Armed Forces are the military forces of the Republic of India. It consists of three professional uniformed services: the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. Additionally, the Indian Armed Forces are supported by three paramilitary organisations (Assam Rifles, Indian Coast Guard and Special Frontier Force) and various inter-service commands and institutions such as the Strategic Forces Command, the Andaman and Nicobar Command and the Integrated Defence Staff. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. The Indian Armed Forces are under the management of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Government of India. With strength of over 1.3 million active personnel, it is world's 3rd largest military force and has the world's largest volunteer army It is important to note that the Central Armed Police Forces, which are commonly and incorrectly referred to as 'Paramilitary Forces', are headed by officers from the Indian Police Service and are under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs, not the Ministry of Defence.

Regarding English, Modern India is ahead of China in English. As David Crystal, British author of a hundred books on the English Language says that Indian English is the future language of the world because numbers count. David Crystal came again to India with his wife and travelled across India.He observed the signs on shops, roads and in general conversation and made an assessment of his own. He is also of the opinion that Chinese claims of being ahead of India in English are far-fetched and untrue. It was heartening to note the comment of a British leader that Britain has more in common and greater affinity with India than with Eastern Europe in terms of mental personality,democratic institutions,language and culture. In fact there is a British school in London that has been teaching Sanskrit (the mother of Indo-European languages) for the last 25 years.
The last point is that Britain and Pakistan are both nuclear powers today. But,it is not British Indian history that troubles modern day Indians.It is the bitter legacy of a barbaric past under Muslim rule(Sultans and Mughals) whereunder 80 million Hindus died. That part of history is difficult to erase from memory when the legacy of cruelty continues in the form of Pakistan that continues its' medieval relic of the past, a Middle Eastern holy war manifested in its' obsession,animosity and hostility with India,which are ingrained as a fundamentalist idea in Pakistani history school textbooks and in the instrumentality of four actual wars fought on the Indian sub-continent, followed by a continuous proxy war of terror and the declaration of ill-intent with Pakistani military hardware,naval vessels and missiles bearing the hostile names of cruel medieval Islamic invaders of India.
