Loved this! You guys are awesome and I am now a huge fan! Also, I was born in Belize but grew up in California and I’m seeing new parts of Belize for the first time on your channel!
Hi Ben thanks for staying with us and watching, your question is a good one .. I can honestly say that over the years, that we have been going to San Pedro, it has grown up a lot. You can do most of the water tours from either location, you can get to the Zoo from both but one is a boat or plane ride to the main land and the other is ong drive up from Placencia ..I guess you have seen the 2 zoo videos by now. So it really depends what you like to do .. San Pedro has a more restaurants, and bars but Placencia has laid back beachs with bars ..still best beds in our minds are Maya Beach Resort and Bistro in Placencia but it is a fair drive to Placencia itself .. so it really is a hard question to say this one is better .. both have a lot going for each of them ..there is more to do and see in San Pedro and the surrounding area and Placencia is long and a fair bit of walking ..tough call sorry .. please ask anything else that we can help with .. this year we start in San Pedro but end up going all the way to the south of the country to see remote ruins and bird rescue centers .. sorry I can not say either one is better .. please ask anything else that I can give you answers to, I would say Placencia is more laid back in general and if you want lots of good places to eat and hang out then SP by number has more .. what type of place are you looking to stay .. both have large resorts and smaller hideways ..can you give me an idea of what you were thinking of doing while there
I have had my eye on Maya Beach for a couple months and I keep getting drawn back to it. I have also looked at PUR cabanas in Placencia and in San Pedro both are new or remodeled within the last two years and many awards. I think I would rather be outside of the city and then just take a ride into to town for bars and shops. We are more about relaxing then partying, not saying we won't cut loose a few times on the trip. Like I said this trip will be relatively short unfortunately. I would like to due a split trip in the future at both locations. Do you have an account on Trip Advisor?
Since you seem to be in Belize off and on through the year do you see a trend in the timing of the sea grass invasions? It seems that it comes and goes for days or weeks sometimes.
@@benrogers354 if we are in Placencia we will try to stay at the Maya Beach .. it is peaceful, well laid out and the staff are great, the beds are great there and the food is fantastic. They are a little further out of town but we dont mind that. We stayed at PUR in SanPedro it was called the Casistas at Tres Cocos..its small and new it then became PUR .. we stayed in the Eagle Ray suite it has its own plunge pool that is private so if you wish to sip wine naked in your private little plunge pool you can ..I can not say anything about PUR in placencia as it was not done then ..yes we are on tripadvisor .. if I could only go to one .. my gut says placencia if you want to be relaxed than rushed ..San Pedro is by far the larger faster town out of the two ..please keep asking questions if we can help we will
Thank you so much, hopefully in the future you can stay at PUR in Placencia, and I will be looking for the video. The Eagle Ray was the room that I was looking at booking also, nice choice.
I'm 100% more likely to buy Jerry Jeff Walker's music now that I've seen this video, so there's that. I moved to San Diego. 25 years of freezing my balls off in the Northwest was enough.
well right now it was a very wise choice this year as I am sure you know is pretty dam wet around the Pacific North West right now .. enjoy more sun .. thanks for the comment
Thank you! 😊

thank you we love the country and the people
Nice compilation of pictures.
this is really a tiny fraction, I did not put in animals or many views .. and that is all from this last year trip .. thanks for commenting
Great 👍 video. You should talk about how much it cost to stay in some of the places around Belize and the cost of food and restaurants or cafés...
thanks but that is not what I make the videos for, their are lots of reviewers out there
San Pedro or Placencia? I have seen your videos of both over the years. I am only going to have 4 or 5 days in Belize.
