Great Build Craig! This is the second build video that I have seen today from Academy Kits and both have mentioned fit issues and other problems with the kits. I must admit I have never built an Academy kit, but I always thought that they would be better than Tamiya, but it seems from what I have seen today, that sticking with Tamiya is my may forward for the time being. I would love to hear from others about how they got on with Academy kits.
Now back to this model, it looks really great Craig, but I think that it is more down to you than how good a kit it is. The instructions don't seem very user friendly or accurate. I think that once painted, it should look really good, but again, I think that will be down to your skills rather than the quality of the kit.
Have fun finishing off with the painting and weathering,
    Joe

Joe's Model Kits I'm actually surprised with this kit as the other academy kit I made was far superior than this offering but yup I do think tamiya are ahead over academy. I also agree it will be down to the skill level of the builder to make this stand out I said that in the inbox review. I'm also surprised it seems they cut corners like the suspension not attaching to anything it's a shame really a little more effort from academy and this could be a lot better than it actually is.

It is nice to hear someone complain about Academy instructions. I agree wholeheartedly with you that, in my words, they suck. I had to mark off as I went along also. I did have major problems with the lower and upper hull front. If it had not been for several RUclips videos (yours included), mine would probably still be in the box half assembled.

Its a shame really as it didnt turn out too bad once it was painted. It's also not just limited to this kit either I've done 2 academy kits this and the f16 and it was enough to avoid academy afterwards. Glad you figured out your build jay if you have done video on yours let me know and I'll have a watch :)

Where did you see where to mount the spare wheel shovel and stretcher? It's not in the instructions.
