1 tip. You dont want your battery sliding side to side. Make sure ya velcro something or make some kind of stop so your battery sliding around doesn't make your drifting inconsistent.🙂👍
I think it always nice to have a fresh set of eyes interested to see your testing! But Gt5 gyro is gonna stop you from being able to really glide a drift around long turn or maybe even any turn, they are meant to straighten up the vehicle. Also just make sure those gyros aren’t fighting each other.
I literally just got a drift car two weeks ago. There seems to be a lot to learn. It is fun!

As far as the motor placement, it's for weight distribution and center of gravity. Rear high has more traction but a higher center of gravity.
That body shell... How embarrassing! Yep... Sand paddles are a must.

The gt5 gyro once you start drifting doesn’t really work well, drift specific works better plus if you take that redcat gyro and hook it up to the receiver you can adjust it while driving to get it dialed in.
I'm not much of a drifter but I have heard that if you trim those front spindles,you can get more turning out of it, want them wheels throwing way sideways!
A little different vid, but pretty neat car, I'm not into drift cars myself but gotta say probably is fun and I wouldn't mind trying it out, the Redcat seems like a good option out of the box, it's ready to go drift!!!👍👍
Don't use non drift gyros they won't work Gt5 has a racing gyro and for best driving a sensored motor is what is required to smoothly drift
Also I believe you might have the 3 different motor positions depending on track condition ie. Grip and so forth you can probably get the most grip with no upgrades with the motor in the lowest position so it won't swing the rear end so fast but that's just my honest thoughts on it. As I haven't got a local drift track unfortunately but want to try small drones and drifting this summer along with my bashers, crawlers and I had a wild speed car Limitless but no where near good enough roads without hr or more of driving but capable of over 150mph the way it was I got 114mph on GPS but sold it. Going to build a beast 8s basher prob ARRMA first as I love my K6, EXB K6 and little Mega brushed Typhon I put a new Firma 6s system and no upgrades and so far for a year of beating it loves it hahah only broke plastic none adjustable top steering arm which a little Gorilla glue fixed haha Got a Redcat Wendigo for real cheap as he thought it was wrecked but just needed a new front bumper/servo mount put in metal one front and back as it had bad flex and it's fun little beast for 250$ Cdn in it wanna do something cool with it too! Never had any bad words to say about Redcat RC myself 👌🏼

set the end points on the radio, then set the end points on the Gyro (Drift Gyros have EPA built into them as part of the gyro function.... There is a pretty big difference between a drift gyro and normal gyro in how they are programmed and function.
Im a drift newb like you, but in my research on which gyro to buy, is where I found out they are designed and programmed a bit different.

1st thing, charge a couple of packs, a 2s & a 3s. Go to anywhere with asphalt or concrete, BIG area as smooth as possible.
Drifting is all about precision 'sliding'. U remember scte & the slowness & smoothness their Drifting drivers did? Yea that's what this vehicle is made for. Drifting is an art of skill.
To expand my comment drift gyros can be made more sensitive to suit your style but are made to allow more slip angle to hold a drift a conventional gyro will become over sensible and try to pull the vehicle straight or wobble the steering all over the place over correcting and not allowing a proper drift
The gt5 gyro will be more than enough for this drifter. I intend to sell the gt5 with the rds kit for those who want to put their own system and servo in it. Good luck with driving it one handed. It should be fun once you get the ha g of it

with a drift gyro, its how it holds the slide. most gyros dont have the ability to hold that slide as they have different programming.

Unfortunately it’s a redcat.. ther less than mediocre I kno I have 4 of ther vehicles including that crap shredder..
How do you reverse a gyro? I changed the servo on my arrma vorteks and I had the reverse the steering on the radio
