i can't believe there is a movie that exists that can rival Shrek 2 *HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2* and *ALWAYS SUNNY* Season 16 is available for Full Length on Patreon! www.patreon.com/professorreactions
A small detail, Hiccup is very apologetic so Toothless learned what "I'm sorry" means. Everytime someone said I'm sorry, Toothless opened up to them and accepted them. When Astrid apologized he stopped terrifying her and when Stoic apologized he showed him that he saved Hiccup
This movie is so completely S tier, it never fails to make me just so flippin happy. The soundtrack, the characters, the relationship development between Hiccup and Toothless 😭😭🥰🥰 I'm sure the rest of the trilogy is also so good (I still enjoyed the second one), but there's just something so special about this one. It just feels like a hug from your fave person, the kind of internal warmth it generates. Ugh, I'm so happy you finally watched it 🥰🥰
Two pieces of info about Toothless: First, he's the same maturity/age as Hiccup. So as dangerous and deadly as he was, he will become even more impressive. So will Hiccup. Second, the Night Fury is the most intelligent of all the dragons (at least in the movies). They are able to identify and asses threats very well, which is why Toothless was striking the siege engine and the watch tower in the first battle. This also makes them _extremely_ dangerous to humans, because they easily identify humans as the greatest threat they face.
The How To Train Your Dragon trilogy are three of my favorite movies, regardless of genre, animated or not. And so is the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. DreamWorks usually don't miss, they have many gems, some of them are a bit hidden, but still gems.
Your pointing out the differences in Hiccup's voice in the opening and closing monologs was spot on. The great stories - the ones that we re-read and/or re-watch - are the ones that chronicle a major change in a character. It happens in THE HOBBIT, when a homebody turns into a warrior/burglar, and in CALL IT COURAGE, where a scared boy learns how to embrace his Polynesian heritage, and in this movie.
I would highly recommend the show “race to the edge” it’s rare to find a spin off of a movie that’s as good as the films but it genuinely has a really good story and new characters, it’s 6 seasons so it’s long but it takes place between the first and second movie, also kung fu Panda is also a must see, Hans zimmer and John Powell (who did the httyd soundtrack) worked on the soundtrack together, so I highly recommend the other httyd movies and all the kung fu panda movies
Dragons of any mythology seem to have higher than human intelligence. Toothless waited to show Hiccup to Stoic until Stoic said sorry. He waited until they would really appreciate hiccup. Just like he waited to stop flying like a maniac when Astrid said sorry for picking on hiccup. Also godzilla is considered a kaiju, a really big monster lol. Great reaction, can't wait to see what you think of the next two.
You were right about Hiccup sounding less strong/confident in the beginning. At first he sounded tired and sarcastic. Another great thing about these movies 💝
Super enjoyed your reaction, and really like how you break down the characters, plot, and animation. I enjoy your distinction between villain and antagonist---the difference between those roles is fascinating.
"He lost an Ugg! Wear that shit like a badge of honor" This is what made me hit subscribe. Not many people say this aloud but mixed with the humor, I think you're doing amazing in this choice of career! :3
13:06 A lot of people miss the reason why he brought him to the village. When they fell earlier while testing the harness, the clasp got bent and they were stuck together. He had to sneak Toothless back so he could get some tools to undo the equipment.
Yup like you said you were surprised that this did not feel like a "kid's movie" despite it being animated... that is a recurring theme with MANY animated movies haha. Speaking of which... again I will suggest to try (maybe after this dragon series of course since you are "into it" now)... Nimona.
The writing and transitions are so good. I'm glad my mom got me the dvd when I was like 13. I grew up with Hiccup and cried at the last movie in theaters.
10:34 Okay, this is the one shot that's not as strong as the rest of the movie, hahaha. If you tilt your head to the right, you'll see that the drawing is pretty good! Toothless drew two eyes, a nose and the head. The hair is a mess though haha
The little dragon should be able to just escape the ring if you think about it. If a fully-grown Viking can jump between the bars, the dragon can just fly out.
I had about given up on Dreamworks, then they came out with this series of movies. More like these movies please! (And btw the books are great too. Not at all the same story lines as the movies, they both have characters with the same names and beyond that there's not a lot they have in common story-wise.)
Have been watching you for awhile now and LOVE your content, was wondering if you’ve ever watched the Truman show (guessing you may have) but if not I would absolutely love to see you react to it, one of my favorites of all time
This is such a well done movie, I love it. It was nice to see you caught the parallel between toothless and hiccup losing an important part of them♡ (it took me years to notice lol)
Oh boy!! I’m SO READY FOR YOUR UPCOMING REACTIONS of HTTYD! I’ve been watching your content for a while now but NOW you just became one of my top 5 reactors on here. Without a doubt. Loved this! Everything you had to say along the way and at the end was PHENOMENAL in my opinion. Your pointing out, your memory, understanding and caring it’s what I look forward to see happen on a movie commentary ------- The journey that’s expecting you it’s something else, dude. Can’t really compare it. This is one of those franchises that gets EVEN BETTER with each movie. From the story, the connection, the learning, the growth, animation, character developments… EVERYTHING! I literally don’t know one soul who doesn’t like these films. ----- YOU’RE SO RIGHT when you stated: “I even forgot it was an animated movie”.. F*** YES!! The fact that you were able to point that out made me scream out of joy! That right there, my friend, it’s the amount of power these movies will continue to have. I’m so glad I got to see the last two on theaters and I even hold those movie tickets dearly to this day; I keep them inside their respective movie case. I was 10 when the first one came out. ------- I’m so looking forward to your upcoming content and I wish you an amazing watching experience with these. I know you’ll love them! Side note: Don’t hold back being completely honest. If along the way you do find something you would’ve liked to see differently or something, PLEASE state it. I LOVE to hear another person’s perspective on stuff and take it into mind. And yes! Hiccup is indeed 15 in this one. -- Also, good to know you’re a fan of GOT (as am I). You’ve said it before, I’m 100% sure. Just good to hear it again… REALLY good to hear it again…😗🎶

FYI there is 2 Christmas specials a Netflix series and another 2 specials and a second and third move all which are Godly

HTTYD and Kung Fu Panda are the greatest animated trilogies EVER. All 3 movies are a 10/10, you'll see!!!
I don't have high hopes for kung fu panda 4

But you kinda need to watch riders of Berk first to understand a lot of it. Characters and dragons and stuff.
But they stopped with 6 seasons that’s disappointing
@@headhunter3773 better six seasons than none. I’m happy with what we got.
@@dm_dude yea but we might get other series' based on this
@@headhunter3773 They did unspeakable things to the dragons in the nine realms 🤮
Httyd is one of the best animated trilogies made by Dreamworks and
were my childhood. From the age of 6 to 16, I saw them all in cinema
god this series is so good!!!! soundtrack is a W in every entry, cinematography too. excited for the sequel reactions 😊

Yeah, the Red Death was the villain, Stoick was the antagonist.
I always loved this movie and especially Hiccup as a character because I kind of relate to him in some ways, it's also just a fun movie in general
"He lost an Ugg! Wear that shit like a badge of honor" This is what made me hit subscribe. Not many people say this aloud but mixed with the humor, I think you're doing amazing in this choice of career! :3
Also I'm so glad you're calling the Red Death Beyonce/Queen Bee. Cuz lots of people just don't realise she's female and get confused later on.
happy for the soundtrack appreciation, definitely one of the strongest parts of an already very strong trilogy.
13:06 A lot of people miss the reason why he brought him to the village. When they fell earlier while testing the harness, the clasp got bent and they were stuck together. He had to sneak Toothless back so he could get some tools to undo the equipment.
Just wait, the second one is even better!!

Astrid doesn’t have her own because Hiccup will be on Toothless later. That’s what I figured anyway.
Love these movies!!
One of my favorite flim franchises
YES! That little dragon IS a chihuahua. I mean it. They hired a chihuahua dog to make the sound.
The writing and transitions are so good. I'm glad my mom got me the dvd when I was like 13. I grew up with Hiccup and cried at the last movie in theaters.
I love Astrid's pep talk 😭
The trilogy is so incredibly deserving of all the praise it gets

3:50 about the accent, the adults have an accent and the kids don't.
How is it this legendary movie came out in 2010 and this is the first time you've watched it
since you asked in traditional lore dragons are almost always depicted as high intelligent.

I’d be thrilled to send you an extra Toothless Funko I have. Haha.

Godzilla isn't a dragon, he's a Kaiju.
Are you going to react to the whole trilogy? i love those movies with all my heart and all movies are amazing in their own way
Babe wake up new Professor No Name just dropped
Lol hiccup has an American accent, it doesn't mean that non American accents are not normal
loved this reaction!
MY FAV MOVIE !!!!
10:55 - Awwww omg I can't stand it :P
Great movie, Colin Mochrie approves
the other 2 are just as good
PLEASE SO HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U
there how to train your dragon 2 and there how to train your dragon 3
It’s crazy how the second one is *even better* truly one of the best animated trilogies of all time
