    Sorry but this thing never could be a real plc. Where is the image processing of input and outputs? It is simply a microcontroller with power output and inputs and thats all.

    Very slick. Makes me wonder how the Arduno project itself ever got off off the ground without loads of funding from Kickstarter, especially given that the whole project is open source.
    I wish you well guys, but I am struggling to see why you needed $100k to do what many people have done for nothing

      I think the controllino hardware is not open source, but the software is. If you think that's not an advantage try buying a Siemens PLC, and the software to program it you'll be spending 5 to 6K. It is a good idea, but tbh the electronics circuits for this kind of input/output control are not hard at all, and I think most people just buy a shield that they need.

      Because you cant legally use an Arduino in a production environment. You need certified equipment for that and this is exactly it. Many EE students are trained to use Arduino while they cant even use it later in their lives.

    I really really really really wish this would have made it's goal. I also probably wouldn't be able to afford any :( But dang, what I'd do for at least the medium sized one. Heck, even the small one!

    Hello, i have a question.. The Input current Max. 8A which is called in the data sheet of the Controllino Mini, is referred to the digital inputs max current?

    i learn plc in my Scholl. it quite expensive. so i hopes U success on Kickstarter so those electrical engineers can used it. to controll the factory.

    Tell me more about how the PLC adds to the Arduino's safety? I'm not clear what the PLC achieves.

    • @adisharr
      @adisharr 7 лет назад

      Generally isolation and high current / voltage handling. 'Safety' is not the best term here as it implies industrial safety devices.

    is the input really 24VDC? that would be so inconvenient

    • @brettsalling
      @brettsalling 4 года назад +1

      Not for industrial automation, nearly every PLC and logic circuit, safety circuits, etc are 24v. But the video said this will operate from 12-24v
