Highly likely if they don't actually start repairing the roads, paths and maintaining the area. People are just going to stop paying their council tax. Funny enough though they have plenty of money to put up surveillance cameras.

There needs to be a public enquiry into all the councils that have gone bankrupt. As there are a number of councils that have declared bankruptcy we have to ask why and are these people we put in charge of running our towns' and cities finances negligent or worse

Heres the thing, birmingham council is "effectively bankrupt," so it has to continue to provide paid for public services.
Its effectively bankrupt, because birmingham council lost a legal battle regarding equal pay disputes and bonus packages from its current and former female employees. I think it still owes another £60 million out in compensation and legal fees for this one case.

I think if your council covers a highly diverse area there is more chance of it going bust as usually needs to provide more services and usually takes in less tax revenue!

That is a highly irresponsible comment to make. If a council goes bust then those responsible should be prosecuted and sent to jail for gross misappropriation of public money, which it precisely what they’ve done, it is just that simple and there is absolutely no argument to defend their actions.

But they had money to spend on renaming streets and diversity training strange .How they could afford that

It's all debt they would have wasted their remaining budget instead of allocating it in to inflation beating assets that they could liquidate at a minutes notice because they would have to pay for storage my local council said to me that it's a waste of tax payers money this is a national problem it starts with councils and ends with governments we are going to see a credit freeze event people have to prepare for this event keep some cash on hand and have none perishable food items in stock its the end of the debt based system

So if all those councils bought properties, let the properties out as there is an accuse housing shortage. Irresponsible spending by all local councils, they must be held responsible!

Everyone needs to become their own central bank hold real assets not units of debit your only way out is to hold anti debt units that can't bankrupt and has no counterparty risk if every council had allocated capital in to gold silver and bitcoin they would be in the mess their in i worned about this to my local council and was laughed at look who is laughing now
