Wonderful! Thank you for showing this. Here in NZ it doesn't get dark until about 10 p.m. at the moment, so most people don't bother with Christmas lights. It's great to see the old traditions still kept in England.

Thank you for your comments, Jim. The festive lights certainly bring some seasonal cheer to our long, dark evenings at this time year. Happy Christmas from us both.

Thank you, Marcus, for your kind comments; we are pleased you enjoyed it. The bow-fronted windows and 'olde-worlde' nature of the town certainly adds to the charm.

It didn’t disappoint! Some of the shops ‘go to town’ with their imaginative decorations! It does look just right on the older style windows- plate glass just doesn’t do the trick! I think I am right in saying that the entrance to the castle grounds was very disappointing - that’s the only place that didn’t look inviting.
Thanks so much for- Seasons Greetings!

Thank you for your kind comments. You are correct about the lighting and the older style windows, and, yes, the castle was disappointing. The gate we showed is generally used as the public exit, but the main public entrance had a single, tiny Christmas tree!

Thanks - I guessed it was the castle entrance or exit but it does seem very very low key when you look at what other stately homes now ‘do’- some are over the top but this is silly in comparison.

It's possible that the publicly accessible areas inside the castle were better decorated, but given the price of entry, it was not something we were prepared to verify! Let's give them the benefit of the doubt! Cothele in Cornwall looks fantastic at this time of year.
