Oh man, I miss having a shep. I grew up with a HUGE one, a big flop-eared mutant. He was so big he could easily look over our 6-foot fence. He would open the gate and let himself and our other two dogs out. My dad moved the latch to the outside of the gate, then Alf would jump the fence and then open the gate for the other dogs.
German Shepherds are very intelligent dogs !
