    I've been doing functional training for more than two years now and can totally see where you're coming from :) I guess people who actually workout and tried different training methods tent to understand this easier. I must thank you for all the videos, knowledge and expertise you put out here in inspire me each day to create new routines and reach new heights. Keep up the good work! Thank you!

    This video was more than an impressive demonstration. It was a goldmine of useful ideas. Some I've seen in some other of your videos, Naudi, and some I haven't. I watched this vid for hours, identifying 17 moves I thought I could do (there were others that I was already familiar with) and took copious and detailed notes about starting positions, foot positions, hand positions, directions of rotation, everything I could think of that I'd need to be able to remember what I saw when I look at my notes. It took a lot of effort to get all this detail down, but now I won't ever forget what I saw. The move where you're on your back, one leg crossed over your body, dumbbell in opposite hand, you uncross and sit up, pressing dumbbell upward while pulling opposite hand back was, by itself, worth the price of admission. I call that one the Scorpion with Dumbbell, because you once did a similar one by the same name with the Dynamax ball. Thank you for this generous sharing of potentially life-changing information.

    Personally, I am a CrossFitter. I love it, always will. I also don't care why people argue about it, goes for CrossFitters too. I also love this channel. Who cares if this dude hates it? His experience in fitness and how it can better me is what I care about. Not his feelings on other training methods. Great channel bro, sick work...

    Awesome. This takes me back in time....when warriors leaped through the air towards their target, the arrow shot accurately, just before a perfect landing on their feet. The human body's capabilities have been discovered by the few who dare...thanks for the demonstration.

    Great amount of work Naudi! You have shown the very best what functional training can offer. People may dislike your content but that is only due to their misunderstanding of the concept. Whenever I train with Kettlebells outside of the Kettlebell gym everyone stares at me like what heck are you doing. Back in 2012 it was same with the TRX, majority of people never heard about it back then. Keep up the good work.

    Hey Naudi. I have watched most of your vids and I am loving what I see! I think it's high time that you invite 10 non athletic (heck maybe a couple of Hockey/NFL players) and create a season one series. Each series we get to see them gradually get stronger/fitter and wiser. The rave right now is CrossFit and to tell you the truth, the beginning of my fitness journey I was obsessed (watched endless CF vids) but this right here, Functional Patterns need the same push and focus.

    Motion is life, if you understand this rudimentary concept in nature, everything else is really arbitrary guys. Move all joints through full ranges of motion regularly, regulate and monitor muscle imbalances, focus on full body integration into every movement, be mindful of your breath throughout the movement and breathe fully, increase the parameters of tension as your strength grows, and never stop progressing forward.....ever

      Lol functional is a contextual term. I.e. Functional for what function? Sprinting is functional for a football player.
      Your whole premise is that we need to optimize what we are generally able to do. But why? To prevent injuries? I rarely see significant injuries in intelligent athletes - definitely none that would justify your training dogma

  • @antonioalviar575
    @antonioalviar575 3 года назад

    Functional Patterns is, right now I think; distinctly the most important system out there to apprentice in if you want to figure your body out. Think of it this way. When your trying to build a house and you make the first stud crooked, the rest of the house relying on that stud as a measurement reference, your going to have a house out of whack, even if you put a bunch of nice material on top of it, it's still not structurally sound or aesthetically. Building and honing your body into something balanced and healthy, Naudi seems to be one of the few who really knows how to lay the first and the 100th stud right. To me it's like history being made in the industry lol. But i'm a nerd of fitness. Draw your own opinion, everybody has to cultivate their own sense of awareness of what they see in the Fitness/Health industry. But I'd Strongly reccomend him. Just from what i've seen, and i've done a pretty good amount of training in different systems through high school, the military, and just on my own. Naudi Aguilar and his team are doing something unique and relevant and needed.

    Humans sure do hate having to question their beliefs. Open your minds, just become aware of how your body moves on a daily basis, this guy is onto something. He's still learning as time goes on, we all are. Most people have compromised joint position due to muscle imbalances from modern living. Taking up something like crossfit can and does mess up a lot of people. There is no reason to train that hard either, you're just tearing your body up no matter how balanced youre. Crossfit was a step in the right direction, getting away from isolates movements, but it is far from perfect, and most times damaging.
