I've been doing functional training for more than two years now and can totally see where you're coming from :) I guess people who actually workout and tried different training methods tent to understand this easier. I must thank you for all the videos, knowledge and expertise you put out here in inspire me each day to create new routines and reach new heights. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
This video was more than an impressive demonstration. It was a goldmine of useful ideas. Some I've seen in some other of your videos, Naudi, and some I haven't. I watched this vid for hours, identifying 17 moves I thought I could do (there were others that I was already familiar with) and took copious and detailed notes about starting positions, foot positions, hand positions, directions of rotation, everything I could think of that I'd need to be able to remember what I saw when I look at my notes. It took a lot of effort to get all this detail down, but now I won't ever forget what I saw. The move where you're on your back, one leg crossed over your body, dumbbell in opposite hand, you uncross and sit up, pressing dumbbell upward while pulling opposite hand back was, by itself, worth the price of admission. I call that one the Scorpion with Dumbbell, because you once did a similar one by the same name with the Dynamax ball. Thank you for this generous sharing of potentially life-changing information.
Personally, I am a CrossFitter. I love it, always will. I also don't care why people argue about it, goes for CrossFitters too. I also love this channel. Who cares if this dude hates it? His experience in fitness and how it can better me is what I care about. Not his feelings on other training methods. Great channel bro, sick work...
The human body when it operates in harmony is absolutely eye catching, its like a symphony. This guy is basically living my dream. POSTURE and symmetry is something im fascinated about.
Awesome. This takes me back in time....when warriors leaped through the air towards their target, the arrow shot accurately, just before a perfect landing on their feet. The human body's capabilities have been discovered by the few who dare...thanks for the demonstration.
Great amount of work Naudi! You have shown the very best what functional training can offer. People may dislike your content but that is only due to their misunderstanding of the concept. Whenever I train with Kettlebells outside of the Kettlebell gym everyone stares at me like what heck are you doing. Back in 2012 it was same with the TRX, majority of people never heard about it back then. Keep up the good work.
This is the most inspiring training video I've ever seen. So many incredible movement/exercise ideas that I have never come across before. Awesome work man thank you for this.
Awesome vid! As a functional fitness trainer and a teacher of several martial arts styles, I really appreciate your approach to movement conditioning. Way to raise the bar. Great job!
I have also a functional and crossfit channel in Yt in spanish and really would like to congratulate you for the quality of the video, the exercise and the perform. Great video my friend, from Tenerife (Spain)
Love this training method, this in my opinion is the best system based on functional training period 👌 Functional patterns cuts out all the BS and keeps it realistic! Much love from across the pond in the UK 🇬🇧
Lots of close minded people on here, really missing the point. In any case, good job Naudi, your mobility videos are pure gold. I like that you educate as well as demonstrate, anybody can push metal but you are clearly a cut above when it comes to knowledge and the integrated application of it. Keep it coming and thank you:)
U r my inspiration it's been long time i have not seen this video today June 22/06/22 i watched it. same kind of an feeling when i watched for the first time. I got goosebumps this video is an masterpiece.trying to reach you very soon wl meet you.thankyou for educating us 😊 u do great things sir stay blessed....
Wow! He must have a ridiculous amount of range of motion. I mean, each movement was correct posture. Spine in line, back straight and no over-extension fault anywhere. I greatly applaud this excellent show of performance.
Hey Naudi, Awesome vids and I am so excited to discover someone who is into balancing the body!!! I am 40 years old, and my body is falling apart from the heavy training I've done over the years without being balanced. I already started doing some of the stretches from your videos today. Thank you!!!
For me Functionability is the most important thing I do when working out! Doing my personal training qualification soon and after o get qualified am definitely signing up to your course as is worth the money! I want to be ahead of the competition in terms of the best functional training!
Hey Naudi. I have watched most of your vids and I am loving what I see! I think it's high time that you invite 10 non athletic (heck maybe a couple of Hockey/NFL players) and create a season one series. Each series we get to see them gradually get stronger/fitter and wiser. The rave right now is CrossFit and to tell you the truth, the beginning of my fitness journey I was obsessed (watched endless CF vids) but this right here, Functional Patterns need the same push and focus.
+arikeer I appreciate the interest in something like that. The direction we are going to take with FP is through the scientific method. I want to compile data on what traditional forms of training do and how FP exceeds their results in regards to applied movement. All with time many things will happen :)
I can't thank you enough for going through the scientific process. Especially with the push on clinicians to integrate evidence based practices. Hopefully your data in the future will be researched!
He training an MMA fighter and he lost his knockout power and lost the last 8 of his 13 fights now...he's denied debating many experts also scientist in exercise would've been using this decades ago if it was the best but it's not,it's just better than not exercising sure it will help but it's not going to help an elite sprinter or a power athlete are you SRS? A sprinting coach, strength and conditioning coach for MMA fighter and all combat sports would laugh at this guy he has a weird mind
What you are doing is amazing. And I decided to "like" two of the comments below, because, in my humble opinion, they don't get the magic of your science. Well done. I would train with you.
Motion is life, if you understand this rudimentary concept in nature, everything else is really arbitrary guys. Move all joints through full ranges of motion regularly, regulate and monitor muscle imbalances, focus on full body integration into every movement, be mindful of your breath throughout the movement and breathe fully, increase the parameters of tension as your strength grows, and never stop progressing forward.....ever
at 51 I get asked why I still train my answer is for life or quality of life to be able to function at a high level for the rest of my life ;) training smarter to train for your whole life ;) thanks for the motivation. Brent ,New Zealand
You really know your stuff, man. Here's hoping that, some day, Functional Patterns becomes a world-wide network. Including in India. I admit, for selfish reasons. :)
Pure Master of Balance, Co-ordination, Functional Multi-plane Movement, Discipline in the Correct Mechanics of the Body using Space and an Unorthodox approach to training. Absolutely Amazing! This for me is Precision with Art, a Leader for Ultimate workouts and training! A True Inspiration - thank you Naudi.
Hi I do a lot of martial arts and bodyweght training, and I thought this video was great. I will be incorporating some of these moves into my own workouts for sure. Tanks you for taking the time and effort to create the video.
I like the videos and what you have offered us with all of the free knowledge. Althought a lot of people hate a lot on what you are doing and have to offer, there are a lot of people out there who do appreciate your knowledge, time, effort, and expertise. We cant please everyone but thats their issue, keep up the great work brotha.
Lol functional is a contextual term. I.e. Functional for what function? Sprinting is functional for a football player. Your whole premise is that we need to optimize what we are generally able to do. But why? To prevent injuries? I rarely see significant injuries in intelligent athletes - definitely none that would justify your training dogma
thank you so much for all your sharing Naudi, I am a football athlete and have used many of your principles to better my performance, while I dont share in your critic of other sports movement, I find your principles and drills extremely valuable
Functional Patterns is, right now I think; distinctly the most important system out there to apprentice in if you want to figure your body out. Think of it this way. When your trying to build a house and you make the first stud crooked, the rest of the house relying on that stud as a measurement reference, your going to have a house out of whack, even if you put a bunch of nice material on top of it, it's still not structurally sound or aesthetically. Building and honing your body into something balanced and healthy, Naudi seems to be one of the few who really knows how to lay the first and the 100th stud right. To me it's like history being made in the industry lol. But i'm a nerd of fitness. Draw your own opinion, everybody has to cultivate their own sense of awareness of what they see in the Fitness/Health industry. But I'd Strongly reccomend him. Just from what i've seen, and i've done a pretty good amount of training in different systems through high school, the military, and just on my own. Naudi Aguilar and his team are doing something unique and relevant and needed.
Humans sure do hate having to question their beliefs. Open your minds, just become aware of how your body moves on a daily basis, this guy is onto something. He's still learning as time goes on, we all are. Most people have compromised joint position due to muscle imbalances from modern living. Taking up something like crossfit can and does mess up a lot of people. There is no reason to train that hard either, you're just tearing your body up no matter how balanced youre. Crossfit was a step in the right direction, getting away from isolates movements, but it is far from perfect, and most times damaging.
Amazing, from what I see all natural body movements, jump, squat, pivot, push, pull, lift, swing everything the body is designed to do - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing. Great clip, great music. What is the apparatus on the wall called? Regards from Australia.
I like that thinking. Leaving away the thought of ''body parts'' and working on the planes. You are an great mover, wish some of my guys have that propioception. Those KB swings are awesome. Good luck man!
Awesome Naudi. Studio is looking great!! I am about to open a new much larger facility than the one I'm in now. It will be a facility strictly based on functional fitness. No nonfunctional machines or modalities. It will be right up your alley. If your ever in Kona come by Fitness Forever. We will be flying the banner of functional fitness.
Looks like actual fun. Some moves look fancy for the sake of being different but I've done those in the past purely for cardio effect and were difficult due to coordination which helped in a lot of my knee rehabilitation and hip hop dances. I wish I had the equipment and space for these movement patterns
one exercise that I think u should give a try is doing a push-up where you feet are on a bosu-ball and your hands are on their own individual swiss ball. It is very challenging and rewarding like all these exercises. I have done a few of these and they are not easy my friend haha, you make them look like nothing!
sure, as crossfit is a competitive fitness sport with a complete different physical exercise philosophy ... always these "experienced" opinions ... anyway i like functional training too.
Great video it doesn't follow the methods I use when training or the methods I want to use but really great see that there is someone out there promoting a much neglected side of the fittness world keep up the good work
Excelentes series. Trabajar con el cuerpo y explotar al máximo cada músculo, buena presentación. Tener otra alternativa de trabajo en en el gym, no solo depender de pesas, etc. Es activar los músculos con el equipo disponible. Felicidades y motivante.!💪🏃♂️🏋♂️✌🇲🇽
this is very interesting. I ordered my set of kettle bells and can't wait to try these moves. How do I go about finding out the names of these various moves? Anyone?
Hi, I enjoy the work you do as it challenges the lock pattern of movement we see in the gym day in and day out. I follow your work everywhere. Just one question with the more floor orientated movements involving the cable machines can you please explain for me how to integrate this for development of someone learning these movements and which videos of yours best represent my question. I appreciate your busy, but would love to see more. All the best.
Hi Naudi... in this video the section 2:23 to 2:28 .. do you have a video tutorial for that particular exercise ... please... i am practicing the "bruce lee" movements and i believe this one will be a good one to build my foundation... regards... Manny :)
Why do I not have a gym like that in my surroundings ? Real good job ! And don't pay attention to crossfit haters/lovers controversies, just do your stuff ! Thank you for all these videos.
I gotta hand it to Naudi, the dude has revolutionized the fitness industry. I just wish he conducted himself more professionally on social media.
Haha, yup. 😄
Lol he has literally achieved nothing 😂
Make that none of your business....
Life is magical when you live and let live!!
Be God....
I Am!!!
Its been 9 years. If anything more people are in the gym lifting. Hes revolutionised nothing.
Yep the system is amazing, the mannerism is not..

This is the best demonstration of the expression of the body I've ever seen in my life. This IS the art of the human body.
This is the most inspiring training video I've ever seen. So many incredible movement/exercise ideas that I have never come across before. Awesome work man thank you for this.
Cant get enough of this video! I watch it over and over agein. Best workout motivation ever.
Great respect for this man's fitness, dedication and his professionalism.
You’re the real deal. Been following you for several years, finally created my own channel. Thanks for your help throughout the years.
Awesome vid! As a functional fitness trainer and a teacher of several martial arts styles, I really appreciate your approach to movement conditioning. Way to raise the bar. Great job!
hands down, you employ the most advanced exercises i have seen anywhere..
I have also a functional and crossfit channel in Yt in spanish and really would like to congratulate you for the quality of the video, the exercise and the perform. Great video my friend, from Tenerife (Spain)
Love this training method, this in my opinion is the best system based on functional training period 👌
Functional patterns cuts out all the BS and keeps it realistic!
Much love from across the pond in the UK 🇬🇧
There really is something about this that is very expressive and artistic, like ballet or rhythmic gymnastics.
Chrominance87 It's called biorythms. Functional biorythms relative to how people have to move in nature in order to survive.
This is amazing !!! Great workout. Finally someone who understands how to train the body... Very Inspiring.
Lots of close minded people on here, really missing the point. In any case, good job Naudi, your mobility videos are pure gold. You have an impressive knowledge of the body and i really enjoy learning from you
Absolutely love this video and the guys training regimes. These formats are exactly what we are about.
This man is so inspirational, I'd love to move like this. Time to put the work in...
I still come back to this video weekly for new exercise ideas and motivation!! Great video Naudi!
You are in AMAZING shape. Love to watch you move through these functional patterns. Thank you!!!!
you are the modern day Superman bro ! was never impressed so much by anything in my life.
I love how passionate you are about what you do
I love your precision with each movement. It's beautiful
The exercises are innovative, the performance of them inspired, and the video itself a piece of art, great to watch for its own sake.
More, more more of this great stuff please! I'm practicing those and they are making my body sing! Thanks
Just flow, Just exercise, just let the body work and breath deep. exelent!

naudi aguilar amazes me in so many ways
I think that some of these movements are not functional, but you have an amazing control of your body. Good job sir.

Dude, you're an inspiration. And I don't say that to many people. Crazy, but functional, workouts!
Absolutely brilliant.
Cant wait to get my students onto these and do them myself once I rehab my knee.
Thank you.
Great exercises & performance and highly enjoyable video! Well done!
You really know your stuff, man. Here's hoping that, some day, Functional Patterns becomes a world-wide network. Including in India. I admit, for selfish reasons. :)
Amazing video and training method! Would love to learn more about this style.

great workout, great music...really like the energy of it and coolness. You are a great musician... in my opinion
Inspirational, exhilarating and ridiculously cool! Love the video and LOVE YOU! Much Gratitude
Love the ideas of foundation truly do , I have trouble figuring out where to start according to disfunctions I have
Hi
I do a lot of martial arts and bodyweght training, and I thought this video was great. I will be incorporating some of these moves into my own workouts for sure.
Tanks you for taking the time and effort to create the video.
I think mixing the training-systems allways gets the best profits... Good job to all!
wow this is advance.. felt like watched a war movie.. great dude.. keep posting..

Look at all the people who have no idea what they are seeing. Great stuff man.
Very good video. Presentation is superb. Ur camera crew should be applauded. Looking forward to buying ur videos. Thank u for sharing ur ideas
I am glued!!! I looooooove this,I absolutely loooove this
He is a beast among beasts. You should actually see how he moves live. Pure harmony.
really awesome video, appriciate the time and work.
I appreciate the postivity! Thank you
Any exercise can be functional depending on your specific need. Good mix of exercises though.
nope, look up our discussion on functional training. biology dictates what foundation needs to be implemented if you expect to be functional.
Revolutionary. The haters didn't understand Einstein either bro. Thanks for your work Naudi, and stunning video.
Thank you for the kind words sir :)
thank you so much for all your sharing Naudi, I am a football athlete and have used many of your principles to better my performance, while I dont share in your critic of other sports movement, I find your principles and drills extremely valuable
Man you are fantastic to watch and learn from. I love your philosophies.
Now this is what I call functional!
Functional Patterns is, right now I think; distinctly the most important system out there to apprentice in if you want to figure your body out. Think of it this way. does he have any boxing or heavy bag workouts? those undercuts punches to the body looked beastmode

Cool video, I would like to start practicing. I really like the idea of exercising differently. There are centers like this?
Very valuable to watch after the HBS course this last week. So much to learn. Thanks for your epic course.
JRE, baby.
Inspiring. I want that room and all the equipment. And a nice stereo system! Perfect setup. Some moves look unreal and so cool
Amazing, from what I see all natural body movements, jump, squat, pivot, push, pull, lift, swing everything the body is designed to do - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing. Great clip, great music.
What is the apparatus on the wall called?
Regards from Australia.
Dude's training to fight the entire ork horde with nothing but looted weapons and debris.
I like that thinking. Leaving away the thought of ''body parts'' and working on the planes. You are an great mover, wish some of my guys have that propioception. Those KB swings are awesome. Good luck man!
Que increíble!!! los pondré en practica al menos algunos, están super buenos!!
This is one of the best P90X/Crossfit Videos I've ever... Just kidding. Great work Naudi! :)
lol, thanks brother
Alright, I am impressed. Will be borrowing some of these, thank you! Keep it moving!
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
This is by far, my favorite of your videos.
I appreciate your channel and effort. Thank you.
The truth... crossfit is nothing compare to the benefits of this. Great work.
Thanks brother, glad you see the light!
sure, as crossfit is a competitive fitness sport with a complete different physical exercise philosophy ... always these "experienced" opinions ... anyway i like functional training too.
Respect blood. I love your work and look forward to sharing my ideas with you.
One of my favorite videos, thanks Naudi!
Thank you for saving the fitness world from bodybuilding
Now That's what I'm talking about Brother !!!
this is very interesting. I ordered my set of kettle bells and can't wait to try these moves. How do I go about finding out the names of these various moves? Anyone?
Awesome video....I need a larger home gym...Once more Awesome
Naudi is inspiring, I do copy his teachings in the gym. Please keep teaching and inspiring. Big fan!
dream workout, i am definitely grabbing some of these.
The very definition of functional training
Hi, I enjoy the work you do as it challenges the lock pattern of movement we see in the gym day in and day out. I follow your work everywhere. Just one question with the more floor orientated movements involving the cable machines can you please explain for me how to integrate this for development of someone learning these movements and which videos of yours best represent my question. I appreciate your busy, but would love to see more. All the best.
Amazing production! Thanks for all the great info. Very inspiring.
That is very cool, great stuff to put in my Wing Chun conditioning workouts. Well done!
Beast mode work right here .
Hi Naudi... in this video the section 2:23 to 2:28 .. do you have a video tutorial for that particular exercise ... please... i am practicing the "bruce lee" movements and i believe this one will be a good one to build my foundation...
regards...
Manny :)
Why do I not have a gym like that in my surroundings ?
Real good job ! And don't pay attention to crossfit haters/lovers controversies, just do your stuff ! Thank you for all these videos.
