  • Boeing's Starliner astronauts will have to wait a while longer to return home as NASA once again delays their trip back to Earth from the International Space Station. The spacecraft was supposed to head back Wednesday, but NASA wants to do more checks following helium leaks and the failure of some maneuvering thrusters when it approached the ISS earlier this month. CBS News senior national correspondent Mark Strassmann has more.

Since President Obama break down NASA, that many years accumulated institutional hard work dismissed. That breaking has made to lose expertise who had long time experience individuals aren't working for NASA anymore. NASA Institutional cohesion isn't the same as it used to be. Institutions are like a child that are designed to function for the task given through time. If you affect the child physically and mentally, that brilliant mind is very hard to mend. Particularly, space exploration is a lifetime work. You need the best of the best to work on endurance of unforgiving space environment. You can't afford mistakes in space as you have the flexibility in Earth. NASA is hope for human endeavors in space. NASA must be strengthen than dismantling.

I am not defending NASA or anything but the contract with Boeing was way way way before 737 max, and both of them have a history of pretty much when NASA was called NACA. Also, NASA has already sunk 4+ B to this boing stuck liner.
But for us space nerds, Strandedliner, is much a given when Crew Dragon already launched without a hitch while Boing hasn't even launched noncrew mission. It is even funnier that The Blue Origin BE4 engine is working perfectly fine

Return the crew on the next Dragon return. If the Starliner makes it back in one piece wonderful for Boeing. Boeing will save face then if Starliner makes it back. I believe we must help Boeing Aerospace and Boeing Airline organizations from severely affecting Boeing. Definitely there is chronic problem in Boeing Management and technical professionals. My guess are as follows:
    1) Management is corrupted and has no scientific knowledge that is vital to recruiting professionals based on credentials and work ethics.
    2) Management may be pushing technical professionals to do short-cut in-order to save money and time without understanding that there no short-cut in science. Science is straightforward and meticulous scientific work.
    3) may be few technical professionals are smart mouth who may have credentials, but they aren't up to the task to work in advanced space age scientific endeavors and public safety. People who in Aerodynamic must know what they're doing and be conscious on the consequences of their negligence work ethics.
    4) Management and technical professionals must read each other for better outcome. Otherwise, one affects the other for sure.
    5) Boeing must commit to restructure itself in order to get out of the messy situation.
Therefore, the American government must assign experts to help to identify Boeing problems and how to fix them scientifically.
I hope Boeing survive these huge problems.

But that advantage is meaningless in the face of corruption and stagnation. Notice how Boeing aircraft and spacecraft is even less safe than they used to be?
SpaceX did what Boeing couldn't with 50% less funding. This is irrefutable proof that the old companies including Boeing were holding back progress. How much longer must we suffer this corruption? And you want to prolong it?

They lack cohesiveness from leadership that will stay for the long haul. Also why have they not killed the 737 and design a replacement for it? It's still unbalanced with the larger engines pushed forward. Why is Starliner having so many valve leak issues? Is this an issue with Welding or just using outdated technologies ? They were giving more money than Space X for development.

They were given more money than SpaceX and still failed to deliver. Well, as long as no more taxpayer dollars are spent on it Boeing can spend as much as they want to get Starliner working provided of course they don't force astronauts to die for them.

NASA is verifiably “in bed” with Boeing milking the taxpayers for every dime, called government waste, while putting peoples lives at risk with their preventable catastrophic failures witnessed over and over again:
      Boeing 737 Max
      Boeing StarLiner
      Space Shuttle Challenger
      Space Shuttle Columbia
      Artemis Program
