Is this picturesque city the most liberal city in Pakistan? Compared to Lahore here you see many pretty young women and teenagers without hijab or burqa (4:30). People dress much more “western” than in other Pakistani cities. Also, the city looks cleaner and nicer, without the chaos of the capital or the cities of Lahore or Penshawar.
What happened to this place ? I was there in 1970 and there was not much there. One guest house . Every thing was open . Lots of wilderness. People walking or on horses. I went out into this hilly section one morning where there was low rolling dew and I seen this man coming my way. He looked like a holy man. It looked like he was floating towards me . He past by about 10 feet away from me and didn't even notice me. He looked like he was totally absorbed in the Almighty !
Thousands of tourists fom all Pakistan visit Murree and they buy stuff. If you ever come to Pakistan, you will always see rush in shopping malls and food courts. We visited Murree two weeks ago and bought gifts for family members.
