I have a couple of these Dwarf Alberta Spruce. 1 I started 4 years ago is one of my favorites in my collection. Just a word of caution to anyone that tries these: never bend when it has buds opening or bright green tips. You will likely lose the whole branch. Also, it takes quite a while for bends to set. So you'll have to leave the wire on for a few seasons. Other than that, they can take quite a bit of punishment.
Great advice… I have another that I have had to re wire 3 years in a row and the branches still aren’t set… think I need to let it gain more vigour inbetween wiring, more growth the quicker it will set is my presumption…
