When I started first started operating track loaders 45 years ago, It did not matter who made them it was called a (Drott) and if you were a proper drott driver, you were put on spreading Dry Lean and expected to get within 1/4 -1/2 inch by eye and feel , or they sent you down the road, you were lucky if you had a seat let alone a cab, boy they have come a long way, I worked for Wimpey's on the A2 Canterbury bye-pass in 1979 on a Cat 951C grading, and sometimes on there 977 loading there brand new Maggie Deutz dump trucks. now I get to sell them, and still get to drive them, best of both worlds.

Nice to see the cab view, I often only see them from the outside while they are working.

Is the 973 the biggest track loader that Cat sells?

Really am surprised how badly the operator is shaken about, cannot be good for spine and neck. Am sure modern technology could lessen the impact on the operator but no doubt manufacturers not prepared to pay to investigate / install and have cost eat into their profits.

I don't get it either. I run a (1980s tech) original Cat 963 and it's usually a much smoother ride than this. And Caterpillar more than anyone cares about making a smooth ride and a comfortable cab so that's not the case for Cat.

I think the fact the camera is attached to the cab frame explains some of it: we try to isolate the operator from the vibrations.
This said the machine is supposed to move on uneven grounds.
