Building a rocket requires a significant amount of technical knowledge and resources. It is not a project that can be completed by an individual without access to specialized equipment and materials. The process of building a rocket typically involves the following steps: Designing the rocket: This involves creating detailed blueprints and plans for the rocket's structure and systems, including the propulsion system, guidance system, and payload. Procuring materials and components: This includes obtaining the raw materials needed to build the rocket, such as metal alloys, electronics, and propellants. Fabrication: This involves using the materials and components to construct the rocket's various parts and systems, such as the fuel tank, engine, and guidance system. Assembly: Once the individual parts are fabricated, they are assembled into the finished rocket. Testing: The rocket is then put through a series of tests to ensure that it is safe and performs as expected. Launch: Once the rocket passes all its tests, it can be launched. It is important to note that building a rocket is a complex and dangerous endeavor that should only be attempted by trained professionals with access to the necessary resources and equipment

I think you owe this victory more to my lack of engine building ability than anything else. ALSO, i just noticed you zip tied your rear axle to the landspeeder. 🤯
I loved the video but I did not expect to love a drag race between a stock Ram and a stock Outback. I literally lol'd when you pulled away on him. 11/10 work man. Great video. I hope you had as much fun making it.
Joel you're a great "engineer" but it would make me very happy and at ease knowing that you'll use class 10.9 or 12.9 bolts welded to that L bar instead of a cheap threaded rod and zip ties as axle, especially given the fact that i know you'll "tristar" that thing. Just looking out for you buddy. :)
The body was all plastic, the axle assembly was mounted to plastic, and the forces on the stainless threaded rod pushed it up into the L bracket groove. Given the time constraint, welding just the axle would have been like putting a metal link in a plastic chain. I would however make a full metal chassis for a 3 engine version, and completely redesign the steering. Thanks for looking out for me!
Three real jet engines sounds nice, but a real, adult sized Landspeeder like the one Colin Furze made with three, ACTUAL jet engines would be even better. Sure it might be out of your wheelhouse in terms of price, but who knows what might happen in the future....
You're gonna become that old rocket man who speeds across the salt flats with red hot rocket nozzles, anyone else know him? That's Joel from the future.
"it's got a hemi" LoL final last words of any silly petrol truck boi who thinks he is fast. Look forward to the rematch of '23. Quality content from both fellows 👌
I understand being scared of going highway speeds XD but that afaik track suits like that are incredibly resistant, and also, it's not like you're falling off a bike XD you're on the ground already
@@JoelCreates BE SAFE if you go for three engines on that thing (or a similar rig). You might look into getting/fabricating a parachute to help with deceleration after your run or in case you start to speed wobble. Glad to see you taking this seriously and wearing quality safety gear. Thank you for the great content, Joel, and keep taking care of yourself while you make it! :)
hehe i can relate to the last drag race. bunch of big trucks challenge my mere outlander GT on the road and get smoked so hard they lift off after a few seconds. my car doesn't look fast, but it is moderately so (240hp v6), which is like supercar fast for my country standards.
You *could*, but the thrust yaw could easily destabilize the vehicle at high speeds. If one of those tires gets some sideways grip while you're trying to go fast in a straight line, you're gonna have a bad day. As fine as that control would have to be to make this effective (works great in maneuverable, unstable planes with computer control, but would be a LOT tougher on the ground and with manual thrust controls), you're far better off just keeping consistent power across the three points of thrust while steering with the wheels.
3 questions. 1. What does it take to make street legel? 2. What's the fuel consumption at certain speeds? 3. What would the theoretical speed limit be with 3 jet engines? I'm...asking for a friend. :D Edit: Fuck, forgot about sound limits... :(
Imagine making it into a literal hover craft, ya know? The uhh, air bag way? The bag keeps you above the ground and you just float, it could be a cool video in my opinion :) Just uh, maybe don't use that just use a wooden pallet or something lol,
YOOO Joel your using the same Mountain Board I just so happen to have XD For its price its very durable and reliable, just... make sure your nuts are on tight, and your tires are high pressure.
oh dear lord no those MBS trucks are not good for speed. I have also seen those exact models cheap alu crack right off and cause crashes. Better choice would be Maxtix III dewedged for the cheap side, and SRB NKP HD trucks they do top speed records on.
