I don't understand why coaches choose Carmen for their young skaters, especially when she cannot exude the charisma or sensuality needed for this music. As talented a jumper as Mia is, this isn't the right music for her.
Love that she is trying quads. It's ok to stumble because eventually you will get it. If you back off of the quads like Jason Brown, then you won't win a World or Olympics medal. Once the russians are back, then you will need quads again. We are proud of Mia for attempting them and Good luck in the future!
a lot of yall need to understand that performing jumps during comp is way harder then in practice, she may land her quads pretty consistently and this is the first time shes doing them in comp.
Mia is definitely taking a cue and inspiration Kamila Valieva, and I don't really mean the costume. Her arm and hand movements and positions are very much inspired by the Russian style of having beautiful upper body and full body movement. Granted, Mia has a very long way to go she must improve many qualities of her skating including jumps but more importantly other elements as well. If she can open up her whole body more, developer core strength, flexibility, fluidity, musicality, charisma, interpretation, consistent jumps, she could be a star. I know that's a lot to improve, but I do see potential
Mia loves a challenge and a competitive piece and shows maturity, even Sasha Cohen had chosen challenging pieces and Michelle Kwan also had chosen challenging pieces and classical musical pieces, Sarah Hughes also had chosen challenging pieces: and now we have Levito and Lindsay who also had chosen challenging pieces so I understand for competitive competition championships of her peers and the program of Carmen won Katherina Witt the 🥇 gold medal: Mia needs to step up under pressure and delivered her performance when it counts: she had fallen because she was rushing the take off of her jumps after her transition and she must build up her CONFIDENCE but she can do it. She just needs CONFIDENCE and she will be fine and just enjoy it; she needs to just have FUN with it because the rules of figure skating is INSANE: foreigners are skating to challenging pieces and doing quads combinations, triple combination without any errors, Mia can do it too!!! She has to be FIERCE and she can do it!! The talent and the potential are there but she needs to believe it herself... She has to just do it without hesitation and doubting herself because she can do it; I am waiting for another Michelle Kwan; could it be our Mis?!! Only time would tell!!!
It's really not that bad compared to all the hate comments, she just needs to understand that having beautiful lines isnt an excuse to skate with no intention. Kamila Valieva's movements are very meaningful and she puts energy into her presentation, which is why her programs are intriguing and entertaining to watch throughout the whole thing. While watching this, I get bored easily and I wish she would put more effort in between jumps since artistry does not come naturally for her! P.S her ending pose really needs to change because what the hell

She should work on her 3 jumps and then work on quads. It does not matter if you try quads when your triples are "Q" or "UR"
What are they doing with this girl 🤨
clearly have never done comp before
