Election 24: Labour wave could crash into Conservatives' 'Sea Wall' says poll

  • Unlike Brighton, which we heard about earlier, the coastal towns of England and Wales have been fertile ground for the Conservatives for well over a decade.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News...)
    But exclusive polling for Channel 4 News, conducted before Rishi Sunak’s D-Day debacle, shows Labour now leading in these so-called Sea Wall constituencies - by 20 points.
    In the first of a series on these seaside towns, Kiran Moodley has been to Bournemouth - which has never returned a Labour MP.

    Anyone with knowledge of economics and the ability to apply critical thought would not vote Tory. They have repeatedly borrowed more and paid back less than Labour since 1947. As for Reform, the tinpot racists with a leader who said that Truss had delivered the best Conservative budget since 1986...we know where that would go for anyone but the richest 1%.

    • @MalonsMilk
      @MalonsMilk 2 месяца назад

      Knowledge of history however makes you understand that when labour took over from the Tory’s there was no debt before this. We were in the black. Labour got us into debt and also cashed in all the gold reserves we had then left when the debt was insurmountable. Labour has always been bad with money and relies on secretly taxing the working poor to ensure they get their pound of flesh from the ones who need it most.

    • @davidmcculloch8490

      @@MalonsMilk Labour got us into debt by bailing out the banking crash. The Tories have borrowed more and paid back less than Labour since 1947. (Adjusted for inflation and averaged by year in office). This was also the case BEFORE the pandemic.

    Most major European destinations have a tourist tax. Perhaps it's time to consider raising taxes on short haul flights, or making seaside towns tax free zones, or something - something bold and drastic needs to be done - to save British coastal towns.
