Even after beating him up, David Transformed, and the Hulk kept David’s mindset sorta, and didn’t hurt the fella back. Good story line.

@@rirchardrubio5621 Why, the man was no threat to him. Yes, he was the cause of David’s anger, but he wasn’t a villain trying to hurt kill David. He was sick/ mentally ill and the Hulk sensed that and didn’t hurt him. This showed the Hulk’s human side, which David mentioned to that reporter in the episode “ interview with the Hulk”.

The guy David meets in this episode thinks he's Ernest Hemingway. To this day, whenever I read anything from Hemingway, it's this actor's voice I hear in my head doing the narration.

when david turned into the hulk the look on ole boys face was priceless. the look on his face when hulk was about to reach out and touch someone was even more priceless . 4:47 love the look hulk has when he turns around at 4:48 and all you see are his white eyes, then he turns back to the man as if to say i'll see you later. the way hulk flexed at the door entrance after he tore them off was gotdamn epic

Late-'70s Friday nights were my FAVE, I always looked 4-WD to that day of the week where I could pop🍿up some corn, crack,🥤a can of IGA store brand soda, lower those dimmer lights in the fam room and watch the Dave transform into THE HULK!
It's awesome seeing the Hulk rip through the pea coat. However, I always think David sure would be cold after changing back when it's in the fall and winter months.
Looks like the Hulk hit the damn jackpot for smashing that washer filled with quarters!

It would be seen as a really bad fan project. at least back then there were reasons why everything was so limited and the Hulk was so powered down.
Of course they'll have to come up with some bs about why he's not a 15 Goliath, and more than likely find a guy who is good at flexing
@Axel Wülf He's tiny in the mcu now . Lou ferrigno's version might be the same size as him these days. I never worked out the reason if there was one as to why they shrunk him down.
@Jeremy Knight Well in this scene the hulk busts out of a van and turns it over which is pretty hulklike if u ask me. I do agree that obviously being a TV show from the 70s there were budget and technological limitations to the hulk being able to throw tanks or level cities like say in ang Lee's film. Perhaps if they tried making a cinematic adaptation with bixby and ferrigno back then they might have been able to go that extra mile

@ANYTHING GOES VIDEOS no lets be honest. They may have instances of doing a good job, but overall its overdone garbage. There is no need for it. Just keep things simple and thats it.
How can you criticize CGI when it didn’t even exist at the time that this show was made? This was meant to be an adult psychological drama set in the real world. Not a comic book show. The MCU movies are meant to be the comics brought to life on screen, so of course the Hulk is going to be CGI/ motion capture there. No human actor could physically portray the comics version of the Hulk accurately.

Cgi with the strength. Pick a big sob and pick Jasen Bateman to play David Banner. He would be the perfect Bill Bixby style actor.
I believe this is the last of the great Hulk growls. Ted Cassidy who did the voice/growl of the hulk passed away not long after this episode. Hulk never seemed as mean after that voice disappeared.
@@Dhampir101980 That's what made the show great. It appealed to both adults who enjoyed the human interest stories and kids who tuned in to see David perform superhuman feats of strength when he was angry.
Kenneth Johnson maintained a great balance. The Hulk here was CREDIBLE enough to be relatable but INCREDIBLE enough to be awesome.

Fun fact. Bixby didn't want to play the part of banner at the beginning stages of the series. The reason is because the character would get beat up all the time and Bixby served in the Marines and said it's just not right or something along those lines.
Incorrect. According to Kenneth Johnson, Bixby was sold immediately after he read the pilot script. He didn't want to star in something as silly as "The Incredible Hulk" until he read what was actually in it.

In a way, David Banner should be glad that he turned into the Hulk after that man in the back of the police van was attacking him because he was sick and that the police would've found out the vagrant with the dark coat is one of the scientists reported killed in a lab explosion thought to have been caused by the Hulk.

Yes the high pitched portion of the Hulk transformation sound is played everytime Tom "Ernest Hemingway" Wallace has his hallucinations. You can also hear that high-pitched sound in the beginning and end part of Gary Wright's song "Dreamweaver".
