I was up there earlier in the spring before they closed the gate. Made it all the way to the end of Indian Arm! I started to head over to the Coquitlam watershed but the bolt broke on my alternator... That is the Eagle Mountain-Woodfibre Gas Pipeline project. FortisBC is building an approximately 47 kilometre expansion of a portion of their existing natural gas pipeline system that serves Squamish, the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. It involves adding new 24-inch pipe, beginning north of the Coquitlam watershed and ending at the proposed Woodfibre LNG site. To avoid surface disruptions, a portion of the proposed pipeline will be installed in a tunnel underneath the Skwelwil’em Squamish Estuary.
Everything seems to be getting smoother, Highline like a highway now too. All the views are good though. Still fun up north of mud lakes if that’s your thing. Nice put together video
I logged the property south of Shannon Falls back in '76, tough country, we had to use ladders to climb some of the boulders to get the timber. I hiked from there up and down that road to Valleycliff.
Figured there had to be a road to the top of the gondola to get all the equipment and infrastructure up! Thanks for showing the way! The Indian River road up to the gate looked beautiful!! Thanks for always showing the map of your route(s) at the end of the vid!! 👍
Great view from up there. So, forgive my ignorance but is that gated access road open to any vehicle that can get past the gate? (ie: without getting hassled by the site operator?) If so, I'll probably give that a try.
I don't know if it is technically open but none of the gondola staff have ever harassed me. The sign I show in the video shows areas that are closed to motorized vehicles and subject to hefty fines. It does not include the section from the gate to the back of the gondola.
@@samaldabak269 It's all good. I can see how my bad writing skills can make my post appear snooty. In all transparency, I've ridden my bike exactly where this location is. I called the wife while I was up there and she told me it was something like $70 dollars to ride that gondola! I don't know where you live, and you probably know this, but Vancouver and it's surroundings is crazy expensive and these places are all Whistler copies. The touristy areas all look alike and the people eat it up🙄. It's legit cool that we can save $70 AND get a nice ride in at the same time. This video must have been on a week day or maybe it's just the off season, because that local is usually crazy busy. So yeah….it really is kinda cool to walk around in all our riding get-up, around the tourists🤣.
Well, at least they opened up the veiw. Logging landings are ugly. Hopefully it won't become a highway full of cars. Next it will be a highway to Indian Arm.😢

Ah, interesting. I knew the general stuff about the project but not some of your details.

Love Mud Lakes area. Thanks

Looks like there is a road that goes to that area, to Petgil Lake. Tough terrain to log. Got any pics from back then?
@@AdventureMine2022 Film cost money, that was better spent on fast women and beer.

@@AdventureMine2022 Excellent, thanks very much for the quick reply.
Good one! I was up there last year on my T7. It was a bit rough in a couple of spots.😊
Smooth and steep now.
I love that trip. It's like guys buying a boat to save money on fish(🤣)…..the savings on gondola rides really adds up!😉
Right?! Totally rational. I just love clumping around in my gear amongst all tourists who feel sooo out on the edge.
@@AdventureMine2022 Hope you walked across the bridge? It is a cool spot…I'll give them credit for that.
@@MrRodwatsonSorry for my misunderstanding too.
