I came across 2 houses right next to each other that were CRAZY overgrown. After doing the first one, I got a TON of comments wanting me to clean up the 2nd one. So, I went back and spent an entire day completely transforming the lawn. I even found 2 completely buried sidewalks making their way around the side of the home!

They probably worked for years to earn enough money to build that large building. It takes a lot of money to maintain a barn. If it no longer has a function or purpose most families wouldn’t have that kind of money. I understand it is a passing way of life but it makes me sad.

It's also amazing to me, in such a beautiful neighborhood , why the city just lets property sit there until it finally collapses onto itself. It probably was a really nice house at one time, and yet there it sits, a neighborhood eyesore for years and years. It's a total eyesore, it devalues the other properties on the street and is going to end up a dumping ground, or infested with critters. What's the point? If a city can issue a citation for grass, surely they should have some control over how long properties sit as vacant eyesores. It's really such a shame.

@@BFLPodcast that's wild! My state, they would tax dust if given the chance. My state, the property is taxed, then anything built on the property is taxed, a house, garage, barn...if there has been major improvements made to the house, it's reappraised. You have to apply for building permits for certain improvements. For instance, making a basement into a living space would be taxed. A new furnace would not be taxed. But, if you bought the home without central air and you add it to the house, that's taxed (on the appraisal).

I like how the standing big mower lets you see where you are going in order to mow more precisely, and you seem to be able to do the reverse passes quicker
I try to do circle, square, or rectangle patterns (depending on the area) to save gas and time over switching from forward to reverse on my JD tractor. My father and I don't care about the "lines". In my case, I would still use my sitting tractor over the standing one you use because my feet get extremely fatigued.

And everything is so satisfyingly beautiful and a sense of healing for the property and neighbors is just wonderful. I'm so glad that RUclips suggested your videos and, now, other people like you too. I am also inspired to do extra work in my yard and grateful for the lessons in proper tools and techniques. I watch/listen to you at work and am happy that the sound of weed whackers, edge trimmers, scrapping and blowers are more soothing now versus annoying. Thank you and may God bless you, your family and your mission to help the world on yard at a time. And may God keep your body strong and healthy.
