    Pointing out the obvious, but its worth noting: Jayden Daniels doesn't use a cuff "cheat sheet", he has it all in his head. The dude is special, his own category. This is just his 19th game as a pro, I wouldn't count pre-season, he wasn't in them much. If he had some other team's defenses, so he wouldn't need to score 3+TD to win every game, it would be a lot easier on him, but he won't complain, that's not him.

    My biggest takeaway is that our defensive injuries caught up with us. Our offense had a down game and that’s expected to happen. I’m not just gonna assume our offense is gonna play perfectly every single game. But with our offense being down we needed our defense to step up but simply with all the injuries they just couldn’t step up. A good chunk of the people on that field were pulled up from the practice squad and didn’t have a lot of time to practice. If the lions learn properly from this season we’ll learn on how to either have less injuries or learn how to deal with the injuries.

    • @johnboehmer6683

      I haven't heard anyone mention the fact that there was a lot of extra pressure on the offense to be able to keep up, knowing that the defense would not be able to stop anyone - just like the Buffalo game, and a handful of others.
      There is absolutely no way to plan for THAT many injuries! Detroit did an incredibly good job compensating for that number of losses, way better than anyone else could have. San Francisco had about half of Detroit's injuries, and completely fell off the map. It's not just that Detroit had five practice squad players playing big minutes, they had guys like Anzalone playing with broken bones, or needing immediate surgeries like Montgomery. Then Robertson, lffy, and Branch go down in this game too?? Way too much.

      I'm not a Lions fan, but they didn't just have "injuries." Thirteen defenders on injured reserve, eight starters out, and two corners limping through the game will decimate any team. If you look at statistics, the Lions defense is around 10th best in points allowed and yards. But if you look over the last six games or so, where the injuries have stockpiled to an insane level, we'd be close to last. We gave up 30 plus points 5 out of the last six games...of course Washington would go for it against such a pathetic group, especially knowing how good the Lions offense is. My deepest thanks to the Detroit Lions! For over 100 years we have existed without photos or videos of the sinking of the Titanic. Now in beautiful 4K HD, we have photos and videos of every detail of the sinking of the SS Detroit Lions. The serene sailing towards the inevitable Super Bowl berth, followed by striking the small, but powerful Iceberg of the Washington commanders after which the SS Detroit a lions burst into flame and exploded while tens of thousands of Detroit Lions passenger fans desperately tried to leap to safety. Thank you, Detroit Lions! These photos and videos will be treasured for all time!

    This team could have been 11-6 but got to 15-2 despite catastrophic injuries. Came up short in the end, but every yard was earned. Suddenly, it's bravado and arrogance to believe in your team while literally every week since the Hutchinson injury, everyone talks about why you should be losing? To believe in yourself when getting snubbed or called dirty? To believe in your coach when everyone says he is a meathead, and all the decisions that he is making that work shouldn't work? Not sure where that came from all of a sudden, but miss me with it. Detroit vs. Everybody, always. #OnePride

    This team has the vibe of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. New manager, key team changes and beat the Yankees in the ALCS. Then the WS. The Eagles have been a premier NFC team for a while. The little guys is battered and bloodied, but stopped them once. Doubt and stress….

    I take issue with calling Dan Campbell’s statement to Kevin O’Connell being “bravado.” I think it is Dan being a human being and consoling a coach who just lost the opportunity to be the number one seed in the NFL. The Lions were already going to be in two weeks. They had the biweek. He was just trying to give some encouragement to a coach who just lost.

  • @Cherub23
    @Cherub23 10 дней назад

    Look, loving JD, but let's be real. The story-line here is that Detroit had 18 defensive players on IR, including 8 key starters. JD is a generational talent, but I don't think it would have been a win if he was playing the healthy Detroit defense. To illustrate, that catch by the fullback was against Detroit's 6th string, rookie CB, Morris #40 who had only played in 1 game during the regular season. It's on Detroit for running the defense ragged, but let's be fair with the narrative.

  • @carlosbarajas2693

    They will lose by double digits. Defense will not get 5 turnovers again. Philly will put up 300 plus rushing yards.

    I know less players on the commanders than probably any team in the entire league. Outside of Jayden they are probably the least interesting team in the NFL (my opinion only). They were probably the only team in the NFL that I didn't watch a single one of their games. So it doesn't surprise me to hear a commentator call their TE a FB.

    So people are impressed that Jayden Daniels play well against a defense that can’t stop a pop warner team? Please. Washington can’t stop the run. Unfortunately, Ben Johnson didn’t think it was exciting enough to just hand the ball off to Gibbs all day.
    Eagles aren’t making that mistake vis-à-vis Saquon Barkley. This will be a blowout.
