Evil Reeves and Starmer, just hate pensioners! Previous govt already increased the pension age to 66 for me! I'm 65, literally 9 months away from getting my OAP. I am retired, already drawing my small forces pension and civi occupation pension, but I was going to rely on the OAP, I've been virtually skint, me and missus haven't had a holiday in years!

True, but it's not just Reeves and Starmer (although they're bad enough). They'll raise the pension age, but when the Tories get back in (assuming they will) you can bet they won't reverse it. They're all the same.

Soon there will be no state pension, you won't live long enough.
And if you are daft enough to take out a private one you will taxed
    to the hilt on that.
Not a good outlook for the younger generations anymore.

French Pension age is actually 62, but they intend to take it up to 67, so its rumoured. Germany is 66 and 7 months, but eventually it looks like 67 will be the standard age for an old age pension in Europe by 2030. Denmark, Greece, Italy Netherlands and Norway all have it at 67, the other countries will al be forced into line over the next few years no doubt.
We currently have 67 but that will be changed to 68 by 2046, currently forecast should imagine in will be changed to 68-70 before the end of this Liebour government.

The legal retirement age in France is currently 64 as of 2023. This was recently raised from 62 under President Emmanuel Macron's pension reform plan. However, to get a full pension, you must also have worked the required number of years (typically 42-43 years, depending on your birth year).
In 2023, France enacted a pension reform law that raised the legal retirement age from 62 to 64. This change is being implemented gradually, with the retirement age increasing to 63 by the end of 2027 and reaching 64 by 2030.
To qualify for a full pension, individuals are required to have contributed to the system for at least 43 years. However, regardless of the contribution period, anyone can retire at 67 with a full pension).
