What I love about Miley is that she is indeed a pure woman who doesn't hide who she is. A lot of young tween gets into a phase where you just feel like you're a "wrecking ball". Grown up, physically, hormonally, but still a kid as well. You want to get rid of the idea people had of you when you were a kid, sweet and innocent. And you just rebel and mess up your own life. Then after some years you finally start maturing and pulling yourself back together. Another change. And most times you come to a point where you are much closer to the girl you used to be but a more mature version. I think this process a lot you see a lot with tweens. Went through it myself too. And I recognize that in Miley. The difference between Miley and me is that I am not in the spotlights.

It makes me sad that this album did get enough recognition, and you know it’s because she’s not showing all her skin and singing provocatively... it’s pathetic because she’s really grown as a singer and her voice is truly amazing and unique. She’s so talented!
Actually Miley chose not to release more singles and she decided not to go on a tour, that's why this album was forgotten so fast.
Actually, her voice on this song, is still pretty bland, I feel. It's just not that interesting. She's definitely playing it safe. I just hope she comes out with something that really flexes her voice a bit. Although, maybe it's just the processing on her vocals that's making it so thin and reedy, who knows.
Not showing her skin? Honestly I think it's because Wrecking Ball ruined her in SOME regard. I mean she made a huge joke of herself with that music video and I think that's why she doesn't get as many views anymore, not because of her not "showing her skin."

I 100% agree! When this album came out I listened to it straight for months. I couldn’t believe how great an album it was from start to finish. I was super bummed to see it didn’t get the recognition I thought it totally deserved.

So many of these artists who start out as kids, especially under the Nickelodeon or Disney company, seem to break lose when they finally come of age. It is as if it is the first time they can explore their art without restraint. We have to give these young people space to evolve into the adult artists they are meant to be. When I compare this song to "Party in the USA", it is evident that this song is more heartfelt and personal to Miley.
