Worst time of the year lol we wash both combines 6 tractors 4 headers and a grain cart before we bring them in the shop to be waxed buffed and touched up with paint on any rough spots but they look good afterwards
We don’t wax we probably should, but we don’t. I wish somebody would come up with a business with a mobile unit to do all that shit I would hire them. 😂😂
My uncle built a treestand on our farm many years ago that is basically the same design as yours. It's still out there, but is falling into disrepair. I shot several deer out of it too, over the years. I pressure washed my JD 4400 last week. It was only in the 40's with wind and no sun, but it needed to get done. I did it late in the day so I could just call it quits for the day when I was finished and not have to spend the afternoon wet.
Charlie we had to rebuild the door on that one this fall on a rainy day that we couldn’t harvest because the critters had chewed apart and yeah, I felt like shit for three or four days after we made that three day mad dash to get everything washed up and put away
At one time I had a high pressure/hot water cleaning business. We wen’t through all sorts of things to increase our machine pressures. The most common sense answer finally prevailed upon us and we learned one of those “Life Lessons”. It is not the unloader valve, not the pump or any expensive complicated piece on the pressure washer. It is the inexpensive brass tip on the very end of the wand. The brass wears to such an extent that your pressure may seem to be 80% like you said…not 100% like you want, but visually looking at it doesn’t show any wear it looks unchanged. Go get a handful of new brass tips. There should be a number on your old tip. The number corresponds to the diameter of the tip opening. Your old tip is probably matched correctly for the pressure washer if it came new from a dealer. You could get several of the same diameter opening and perhaps a couple a bit smaller just yo see how they work. I had two pressure washers on Trucks running steady 5-6 days a week doing truck fleets and oil rigs. We would have to change tips once or twice, sometimes 3X a month as we noticed the pressure drop. In the beginning we tore into valves and gauges and relief valves thinking the problem was there. A lot of work for nothing. Finally, we did the simple thing: changed out a (then) $4.00 brass tip and it was like we had a brand new machine…..great pressure. Because of high use, I put a quick connector on the end of my wand, like a hydraulic quick coupler on the back of your tractor. With our high use we could solve our pressure issue in seconds; no need for wrenches and/or a vise. You may not need such a set up but it was handy to have…..
Seriously I never thought of that and this already has the Quick attach on the end of the wand so maybe I will get some new tips for next year and see what happens 👍🏻
Changing the tips sure suprised me. If I would have thought of it sooner, I would have saved myself a lot of chasing a ghost problem and a lot of frustration. One other thing: if there are ANY leaks or even drips in the wand at all…..at the hose connection to the handle, or inside the trigger housing or at the twist valve that allows you to use the second tube, your pressure will drop. A small tiny leak really affects the entire system pressure. Sometimes just tightening everything up will do the trick. If you are in town getting the tips check the price on a second wand. It might be worth it just to have it hanging in the shop. If the wand has been on the machine for a long time and had sustained heavy use (2-3 years), you would be surprised at what a new wand will do for pressure washer performance. Almost makes it act like it is a new machine……
You know Bud I enjoy you that you have a wife that works with you and family I do miss my farm and cows I am from Ontario Canada and I do love your videos on and that wife and farm is gone
Always impressed at how well you take care of your equipment. 👍🏻👍🏻 Hope you’re able to relax and enjoy some hunting now. The Mr Buddy heater reminded of a few years back when I deer hunted up in Manitoba. The guide would take us to the stand before daylight and pick us up after dark. Man!!! It was cold with snow and howling wind. The plexiglass windows in my box stand would vibrate as the wind blew. A little Mr Buddy heater turned down to low kept me warm enough to be able to pull the upper part down on my insulated coveralls. Hope y’all have a great Sunday and upcoming week!!! 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌. 🍺🇺🇸
Try waxing your equipment after washing it. It may make cleaning it easier next year. Years ago I farmed in the Peace River district of British Columbia, Canada. We couldn't dig a well because of sour gas. We cleaned our equipment with an air hose, brushes, & rags. Then applied car wax on the combines & tractors. The wax also helped with sun fade. Love your show man. Reminds me of my farming days, always a struggle & hardly a day off. 😅
Love your channel! When I have issues with my power washer I run vinegar thru it Sometimes cleans the valves. Otherwise take the valves out of the pump and let them soak in vinegar. Watch out for some small parts but it's not real bad to work on.. sorry that I'm more than an hour and half away...
Done then play , AWESOME, I use tomkat bars in there feeding containers. They smell like Snickers bars. Dogs will gobble them up so must be in feeding boxes. God bless
I used to do a job on jets where I had to stand under them during 60mph winds with driving rain in 35 degree weather. All the water runs to the belly of the jet, Then directly onto you. I despise being wet and cold. Takes a hell of a long time to warm up after that. I'm glad I don't do it anymore, 35 years was enough.
Nice work getting everything washed up. We ended up washing our equipment on a colder day too. Sucks, but it’s well worth it. Good luck hunting. I had deer blind envy last year watching your videos and the envy is back this year. I have a couple places I think I might build one. Getting older and wiser.
Just something I read recently about pressure washers. It said that if the washer isn't being used and it's just idling for more than a minute or two, It's best to shut it down. If it sits idling for 5, 10, 15 minutes it causes wear on the pump and it will begin to lose pressure eventually. Just thought I'd pass that along, food for thought maybe. Thanks Andy, always enjoy what you share with us about life on the farm. 👍😊
I always hire our county soil and water district with their arm mower to do my ditch lines and some hedgerows they are already done but as wet as we are now you don’t want to be in any fields anymore we have got a shit ton of rain in the last Three weeks
I’m the same way I like cleaning it before it’s put up I know this probably doesn’t make sense but I go through and grease everything before I wash it but I only give it a very very light grease job that way it tries to help keep the water out then after I wash it I run it for about 20 minutes that way the water is gone then I go through and greese everything really good and oil chains really good then put it all up and take the battery lose and during the winter when it ain’t super cold I start everything and let it run for a hour or so and I always fill everything to the main top on fuel that way the tanks don’t sweat so bad but glad you have all the harvest done but keep all the good videos coming
Those Ralph Nader switches are a pain in the ass. I've bypassed the seat switches on my tractor and lawnmower. Enjoyed the video, and I hope you get a nice buck.
Although my equipment is a lot older than yours, we do the wash, clean, oil thing every fall. This stuff costs too much to replace. Good luck in deer season.

Check the input filter on both the water and any air intake. Might be plugged up or partially obstructed. The loss of pressure may be at that point or you may be losing pressure because the pressure pump is overheating from too much constant use. Might try letting it cool down for 60-90 minutes. You need to get a 50lb sand bag to put on the seat to fake out the computer LOL Shame about that pressure washer. Seems to be hard to find anything built well anymore. Glad you got stuff put away- I still have a bunch of crap to put away, but I still need to get my new building fixed....
Artie I do have some dryer sheets spread around in and on the combine I don’t think they’re bounced. I just think they’re a no name brand of the grocery store my wife shops at.
it doesnt if you never dairy farmed. last week we found out that the state is going to take the cattle. i am just blowing some steam off@@TheGrumpyFarmer
I love your work ethic, especially owner of your family farm. Get all the work done then go play. Try to explain that to a millennial with a phone in there hand. Hope you harvest a organic, cage free, no hormones protein animal. Venison is healthy.
I seen where this guy claims this to be the best rodent killer out there, he said to mix half corn meal with half baking soda, place in containers with an access hole and when the rats or mice eat it they die but you dont see them...he said that rats and mice cant belch of fart and when they eat this they bloat and die
Clean equipment is always a nice way to start the season. Gives a sense of pride. Does your car/truck seem to ride better, quieter, smoother, and run better after it's washed ? I guess it's all psychological but still gives a nice feeling.

When the pump is running and you are not spraying, the water recirculates in the pump and gets hot, then internal plastic pump parts melt.

Hey there Andy, have you ever used Bounce dryer sheets on keeping mice out of equipment? Smell better always work good for me
Artie I do have some dryer sheets spread around in and on the combine I don’t think they’re bounced. I just think they’re a no name brand of the grocery store my wife shops at.
@TheGrumpyFarmer ok Andy, enjoy & good luck on your hunting season
@@artieshuster8013 thanks Artie

Water pressure
Water pressure is the same as it always is
To prevent yourself getting your clothes wet you should get a rainsuit to wear along with rubber boots
Yeah I still get wet 😂

You’ve got yourself a great wife. Although mine helps in harvest, no way in H E Double L WOULD SHE BE Washing equipment after harvest

I love your work ethic, especially owner of your family farm. Get all the work done then go play. Try to explain that to a millennial with a phone in there hand. Hope you harvest a organic, cage free, no hormones protein animal. Venison is healthy.
Appreciate it

You rich farmers need to build a heated wash bay...🤣🤣🤣🤣
How much do you want to donate to the cost Tim 😂😂
I really want a heated shop with a wash bay too. I’ll take all the donations I can get. That would give me more good video content.
@@onehappyfarmer3461 because it’s all about the content as we know, or at least as someone tells us it is
I seen where this guy claims this to be the best rodent killer out there, he said to mix half corn meal with half baking soda, place in containers with an access hole and when the rats or mice eat it they die but you dont see them...he said that rats and mice cant belch of fart and when they eat this they bloat and die
Interesting
Nice job cleaning, a real pain but pays off in the long run. Shows diligence, seems not a valued trait in today's society
Agreed
Clean equipment is always a nice way to start the season. Gives a sense of pride.
Does your car/truck seem to ride better, quieter, smoother, and run better after it's washed ?
I guess it's all psychological but still gives a nice feeling.
Get yourself a foam cannon they say they work good on equipment
Got one and it does two things 1. Makes what you want to clean cover with foam. 2 smells good.
As a cleaner it is mediocre.
