    oOoOO. You've gotta do Luetin's Tyranid First Contact. It's a pretty good dramatic retelling of the Imperium's first contact with the Tyranids on Tyran Prime.

      We cannot live through this. Mankind cannot live through this. In a single day they have covered the surface of this planet with a flood of living blades and needle-fanged mouths. Kill one and ten take its place. If they are truly without number then our race is doomed to a violent death before every shred of our civilization is scoured away by a force more voracious than the fires of hell themselves! Death! By the Machine God, Death is here!

    Its not just that 40k inspired all these other series, its more that most sci fi is based on absolute literary giants in the 40s-60s who covered everything from gods, nanobots, aliens, super intelligence, telekinetics etc all the way to the space marine, psykers, warp travel etc.

      It's kinda like Quentin Tarantino, he is essentially the best plagiarist of all time for film. And 40k is the best plagiarist of sci-fi.

    Also, the "Interruption" mid-video was from the Inquisition, that was the massive letter i with a skull in the middle. They are from the Ecclesiarchy, the Imperial Cult/religion that believes the emperor is god and all aliens/xenos are to be exterminated.
    The interruption began because the contents of the video talked about Tyranids that have evolved with suspected traces of Astartes genes, believing that fallen Astartes chapters may have been consumed by the Tyranids and have their genes partially integrated to Tyranid genes.
    Astartes have their Geneseeds, which have genetic material from their Primarch.
    Primarchs who were created from a fraction of the Emperor's genes.
    Which is why the Inquisition interrupted that part of the video. There can be no error in the Ecclesiarchy's narrative, that is heresy. And the fact that someone believes that there are xenos with even the tiniest fraction of the Emperor's genes is heresy. Even if it were true, the mere existence of such xenos is heresy.
    The contents of the video may lead faithful believers to be led astray and become heretics harboring dangerous thoughts, and so to save from the trouble of punishing them, the Inquisition blocked off a part of that dangerous information.
    This is why a lot of planets are ignorant, say, Krieg post civil war, to the dangers the imperium is facing. Because videos like these are blocked entirely. Although thankfully this one is only partially censored.

      A minor correction; Malcador's Inquisition is separate from the Ecclesiarchy. The Inquisition answers directly to the Empreror, the Ecclesiarch has zero authority over even the lowest ranking member of Ordos.

    The way that Genestealer Cults infect a prey world in advance of the swarm reminds me of the sort of spiders that pre-digest their prey.

    The best suited force against tyranids is propably the deathwatch. Space marines from multiple chapters can join them if they show outstanding skill in killing xenos.

      If we talking about races Necrons are the perfect counter And some of farsights scientists made a toxin that wiped out a splinter fleet but Deathwatch is the best suited in the imperium.

    Everyone talks about orks vs tyrannids, I'm waiting for the day when someone makes a comedy/suspense/horror about how s while bunch of catachans (and sly marbo) were purposely put on a jungle planet in the path of a tyranid hive fleet, the shenanigans and bullshittery that would ensue would be glorious.

    The only reason the Tyranids didn´t overwhelm the galaxy so far is, that they probably used Space Marine genes, for their monsters, from the Lamenters chapter.

    *Happy Genestealer Noises* Side note, it's ironic that you ask who would win between Orks and Tyranids.
    Watch the Luetin09 video called Tyranids First Contact and the Battle of Macragge, to give you an up close and personal idea of their impact.

    Not sure if this has been answered in canon but a theory is that one of the Ctan who survived fled the galaxy and created the Tyranids, becoming their hivemind t oget revenge on the Necrons, Eldar, Orcs and Old ones.

  • @hermaeusmora424
    @hermaeusmora424 2 года назад

    There was once the theory that a few escaping old ones created the tyranids, but with the new necron lore now it doesn't make that much sense anymore, although you still could make it kinda work. In the old necron lore the c'tan were not defeated and almost wiped out all life in the galaxy. They then went to sleep to wait for the galaxy to refill with life so they can harvest once more. The nids destroying all life would've assured that the c'tan never wake up again. With the new lore however it doesn't really fit since the necrons set a ~ 60mio year timer for reawakening and ofc they destroyed the c'tan.

    It's worse than just not getting reinforcements. You can't tell anyone what's happening, nobody knows that you're dead.

  • @micheal5973
    @micheal5973 2 года назад +1

    One of the theories is that the old ones created the tyranids as a lasr ditch ark. The tyranids could theoretically return any planet theyve nommed back to how it was before snack time. So theory goes the old ones would send them ahead of the necron forces to clean out sections of the galaxy that were about to be overwhelmed before heading off to the void between galaxies to await the old ones signal to restore planets. Only the device used to control them got nuked during the horus heresy and theyre essentially just running on auto pilot now.

    You asked "who made the Tyranids - the old ones or the c'tan?" - the answer is neither. The old ones were wiped out tens of millions of years before the Tyranids made it to the galaxy and the c'tan were enslaved not long after the old ones were wiped out. Also keep in mind - those 2 races were only in THIS galaxy, that we know of - we don't even know where the Tyranids came from, how old are they - chances are they have nothing to do with either the old ones or the c'tan.
