Very nice save! Your neighbors are lucky to have your help. I'm considering a Hong Kong Orchid. Does it keep most of its canopy in winter in our area? I'm looking for an evergreen that takes our summer and stays green in the winter.

      Thanks!
They do lose their leaves in winter but seem to not know when to wake up. My neighbors tree looses them, then buds out, then drops leaves again over and over. As far as evergreen, I would say no. If you have space I would recommend a banyan tree (Ficus benghalensis) they grow great here and keep their leaves year round. They are super tropical looking and get areal roots which looks like nothing else in the country let alone the state!
