- The Toronto Raptors have defeated the Golden State Warriors, 114-110, to win the 2019 NBA Finals Presented by RUclips TV and clinch their first NBA Championship in franchise history, becoming the first non-U.S. franchise to win an NBA title.
Kawhi Leonard was named 2019 NBA Finals MVP, finishing with 22 points (7-16 FG) and 6 rebounds in Game 6 to become the third highest scorer (732 points) in a single NBA postseason in NBA Playoffs history, behind Michael Jordan (759 points in 1992) and LeBron James (748 points in 2018). Leonard is also the 3rd player in NBA Finals history to win NBA Finals MVP with two different teams (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - LAL and MIL, LeBron James - MIA and CLE) and the 4th player to win NBA Finals MVP in his first season with a team, joining Magic Johnson (1979-80 - LAL), Moses Malone (1982-83 - PHI), and Kevin Durant (2016-17 - GSW).

The worst part about the warriors being injured is that the raptors could have beat them at full strength. Some of the best team basketball an nba team has ever played. One of the most under appreciated NBA championship teams.
I couldn't agree more. The Raptors simply had the Warriors number that year with or without KD. Toronto went a perfect 4-0 at Oracle and 6-2 vs Golden State overall in the 18-19 season, that kind of thing simply doesn't happen on accident.

@@AWCTB Raptors definitely held the underdog role going into the series, but to call the Warriors the better team is a stretch, if they were the better team they would have won. Raptors proved themselves to be the better team, thus are champs.

I think it's pretty clear the Raptors simply had the Warriors number last season. People need to stop hating and give the Raptors credit and respect where it's due for what they accomplished.

Steph Curry missed the game winning 3 and got outscored by Raptors backup PG Fred Vanvleet. Curry is a great player but definitely can't take you to a championship without KD carrying him.
