40k's lore isn't a rabbit hole, but a rabbit warren. Overview videos like what Bricky does are good, but I feel the best thing to do is to find something (a faction / sub-faction, event, topic, whatever) you think is interesting in the setting and dive down that particular hole. From there you'll inevitably find other things to branch out to in the setting.

it's not too bad, there's plenty of great videos out there. I'd recommend Bricky and The Adeptus Ridiculous Podcast.
