I finished editing this video in the early evening of the 30th of October, so the festival mentioned in text that I was supposed to see Idle perform at a day later ended up understandably being cancelled, as a couple hours later the Itaewon tragedy would happen. Due to this terrible tragedy I decided to postpone uploading this video until after the national mourning period. More info on that in the community post that I'll post in a couple hours (I'm still writing it rn). Most importantly: I'm fine, I ended up spontaneously not going to Itaewon that night, since I wanted to preserve my energy for the concert! Thank you to everyone for reaching out, and I'm sorry I didn't say anything on RUclips sooner. I posted on twitter on the morning after the tragedy, but I wasn't ready to write out everything for a community post yet. Hope you understand 💕 filming and editing this video has been a ton of fun, and I've become a big fan of idle ever since filming this, so I've been very excited to share this video with you! Since this was what I worked on for the entire day before going to bed and waking up to the tragedy though, I needed some time to disassociate it again!
The vocalist that caught your attention is Minnie. She is well known for her dreamy voice and her captivating gaze. That "carpet" she was dressed in is now lying in her workroom lol. Fashion... The rapper is Soyeon. Not only one of the best rappers in K-pop but also the mastermind behind all of their title tracks as she not only writes and produces the songs but also always has a lot of input into the concept of the M/V's. Lion was made by Soyeon for the survival show Queendom where I-dle took part in as industry rookies and got a lot of attention for their immaculate stage presence.
Minnie is the vocalist who caught your attention. She was actually the one who originally captured my attention too, but she became my bias wrecker as Yuqi's unique deep vocals just really ended up winning me over (plus Yuqi's personality is something else! x'D)
Fun fact (G)i-dle were the first girl Group who makes their music since debut (and I'm not talkinng about only 4th gen, I'm talking about all kpop) they also are the first girl Group who has a foreigner as the main vocalist (Minnie)

The "Ba ba ba" during Lion's chorus is them imitating fanfare during a coronation ceremony since song speaks about young lion becoming queen... this song is them proclaiming to be queens with ceremony and everything, I truly love them haha Edit: also we do not speak about those cgi lions 🤣, we already memed them to death when mv was released.
🤣🤣 I can't stop laughing at your comment on Minnie's outfit when she has the Balenciaga sash on. I always notice it and get a giggle everytime I see someone react to this hoping they would comment on it. I think she actually still has that to this day in her dorm still because I remember seeing it just laying down on her couch in a video where she was making music.

Idle or gee idol are both fine. This song was originally made as a performance piece in the first Queendom competition show. It was loved so much that they added it to their next album as a b-side on the "i trust" album, which incidentally, "oh my god" that you will react to next is the title track for the same album.
Idle vocals is more maximalize vocal tone rather than 'technical'.. Their dance not too hard as some of other gg (the point is memorable dance move in chorus part) Idle my fav GG for now, i adore them sm like they are real artist.. Pull off every single diff concept whenever comeback, create their own music, how confident they are, n of course on stage they just ON FIRE Waiting for next reaction
I’ve read on Reddit that Soyeon asked for the members to not receive typical “Kpop vocal training” but instead to work on their individual strengths and qualities in their voices 👀 I’m not sure how true that is, since it didn’t have a source attached, but I can definitely believe that from their interesting voices! I’m not at the point where I can distinguish them or anything, but when listening to their songs that I already know and checking the line distributions, Minnie, Soyeon and Yuqi have stood out to me often as very unique voices~
@@Landyra yeah. you read it correct. soyeon and the mwmbers also talk about it in different interviews how soyeon dont want them to sound the same and felt manufactured so she find different vocal teachers that teaches the members how to improve and inhance their vocal color/tone. aside from that soyeon is known as the best rapper 4th gen(but she also been recognize overall as one of the best rappers in kpop),the main producer of the group and the one who thinks of their concept every cb
the song was made by them for a survival show called queendom (they gave lots of amazing performances there), so it wasnt an official comeback, and the performance went viral so they scrapped the mv together to promote the song, thats why the modern look in the mv might be a bit weird cuz the stylist just pulled some clothes from their storage
The fact that this MV is thrown together is hilarious to me, because it left such a positive and vivid impression on me! Together with tomboy it’s probably the MV I still remember the most about this long after first filming the reaction 👀

it‘s a personal preference, but I always want to watch a music video without lyrics for the first time, so I can think about what they music and video convey on their own - once you read the lyrics they‘ll always influence what you hear and see of the song afterwards and you can’t really go back to experiencing the raw message delivered through tone, melody or videography choices~
