  • Gold Coast surf fishing the easy and fun way. In the video you will see that you don't need big surf rods or monster sinkers for surf fishing. Just use your light 6 foot spin rods with a light leader, sinker and a long shank hook, with some fresh beach worms. Cast 20 to 30 feet into the gutters and have a blast catching a nice feed of Bream, Whiting, Dart and Flathead. Also great fun for kids. Gold Coast beach fishing is simple and fun.

I remember back in the 80's over on Fraser Is it was not uncommon to find a gutter & catch Dart 2 at a time, I still have photos, I must have been about 12, arh the good old days & I also remember catching those bloody sand worms, now that was a special skill, great video by the way, cheers.

Do you put sinkers on or just line, leader, hook with bait?

Yes mate put a small sinker on. Use the rig we call a running sinker rig.

Stand up on the sand dunes and look down at the beach, what you want to find is paces where the waves are not breaking but are breaking everywhere else. If you look closer where the waves are not breaking and it looks like a deeper green hole this is where you want to fish. Look at the water where we are fishing in the video and you will get an idea on where to fish. Good luck buddy
