- We’re working on a 1996 F350 with a ZF5 manual transmission. We’ve had some trouble starting the truck due to sloppy clutch so we’re replacing all the bushings and doing what’s called the “HEIM Joint Mod”

@@mark98070 rotate it counter clockwise around the steering shaft and it comes out. Going back in is the hard part. It comes out easy without moving the steering shaft but does not go back in easy

I'm forced to remove steering in order to be able to get clutch pedal assembly out ?
Yeah that’s right, unfortunately.
It’s not too crazy hard, just the clamp that hold the u-joint in place and it slide into the firewall
