Most teams seem to find solid IOL players in later rounds, or even of the street while we need to draft early. There must be something fundamentally wrong with the way the FO evaluates those positions, it has been a problem for years.
As a longtime Dolphin fan this hurts that we can't get good O linemen here. We've had a deep history of great linemen from Langer, to Little, Kuch, Evans, Ed Newman, Stevenson, Ruddy, Pouncey. We've produced great guards, tackles and centers over the years and now we have this bunch?! Tough to take...At least it's good to see that Greer's seat is getting a little hotter.
The league moved to pas happy for a while but the worm has turned and it's now growing in value... we must learn that and get better at it or we'll be behind the 8 ball!!!
With Tuas ball handling being under center would not only improve the run game but will make the play action much more effective. But we do needs some mobile hogs on the line. You make perfect sense sir.
I disagree with you. Miami did not protect Tannehill. Tanny was a very good quarterback that the stinky coach didn't want him. So Tanny was sacked more than any other quarterback in a year! The fact that Tanny lasted a long time before he got injured said a lot about his strength! The coach was so disgusting that he missed the perfect chance to go somewhere with him. Ryan Tannehill was treated wrongly and Tennessee did better for a while because of him.
Hey Curtis, after watching todays game I’ll need some of your positivity or I could lose my freaking mind. I have been ignoring the fact you may not return next year, which would break my heart. We need you brother!
Yes, I agree. It is the offensive line that is hurting Miami!!!! I have said it many times! Miami must draft as many OLine personel as possible. But this offseason, they must get a quality Quarterback as well as offensive Linemen but Right and Left guards and a reliable Center as well.
It's been the core of my eval since 2021... many thought differently, but I think they are now rethinking that.... biggly. Interior 3 is the key... Ts aren't as prominent in pass balance as they were in fun ball.
@@AcePerHead Miami has needed to build their offensive line for a long time. Once in a while they get a big person but that is not enough. One great player here, one great player there. They need to spend the whole off-season scouting colleges, watching videos, studying moves; and finally get 5 to 10 young, strong, fast and aggressive offensive linemen (1 to 2 for each position) so that Miami could have a strong offense with excellent running and a quarterback that can be safe to stay in the pocket and throw or run around. I say 2 per position because the team needs back ups to come on and off the field. It maybe wishful thinking but that is what I would do if I was incharge. Obviously, Miami can't draft that many but the good thing is no team can. So Miami rounds the rest of them up after the draft is over.
Happy New Year Curtis! CROM! Regardless I hope we show up to the JETS game. It's ironic for me personally as I want Grier gone and if we win it will create a rosy set of glasses for Mr. Gullible! The snake charmer may receive another lifeline! Praying your wife heals well and soon.
Grier must go... but the Dolphins and some in the media are doing their best to control the narrative. Likely he'll return... and that will be torture for me :) and any who want to win something substantial.
At least we got a good ot in the second round last year but we still need to get an og in the first round trade down a little and get an ot in the second round.
Thanks, sorry brother tried some new tricks and might have dummied it up... should have locked the audio... was given the tech job... and I'm still in rookie blues my apologies!!!
It seems to fall on deft ears so it gets frustrating to keep saying we need to improve our ol. We should get two ol in the first and second round a guard and a tackle. We can trade down a little and get an og in the beginning of the second round and get an ot in the second round.
Great content Curtis. Coming from the Shanahan tree, there's no way I think McDaniel is okay with a subpar offensive line. Goes against the philosophy. Of course a first time head coach lacking pedigree must play with the cards he is dealt. Grier seems to have Rasputin-like control over the Rossian Dynasty, and like Rasputin, hard to "remove".
Grier and Garfunkle are very rasputin like... I think hi end is here though... rumours are he's going to 'retire' and get another job in the org :) Marvin Allen is likely next up
Can't beat the Jets, playing like last week. Watching that last week was like watching a pre season game. As bad as the Jets are, they aren't as bad as what was on show last week.
If Ross gets rid rid of Grier, unlikely, he will not hire a new GM outside the organization. He will somehow make Mcdaniel and somebody else associated with McDaniel the football czar. He's not hiring someone that has a different opinion than McDaniel. McDaniel treats Ross like the Emperor he considers himself to be. The only wrench in that outcome is Garfinkel has enough power to put somebody in place to run the operation. Either way, it's a loss.
What does Barklay say about the Dolphins and Football? Says a good back is his best behind a good O-line, same back didn't have these numbers behind Giants line. Like anyone not named Greer has been saying for years now.. Build an Offensive Line and this team will maximize the in place talent and team on a whole; running and passing game as well as T.O.P which in turn helps the Defense by affecting Defensive play-calling. Just do it already ffs 😅
@@happyevelyn Not all teams has the same amount.... we CLEARLY sign old guys and guys with injuries histories... this doesn't put the odds that you'll be more healthy than if you did the converse... no?
It’s crazy now that I think about it. Instead of the rest of the offense accentuating Tua, it’s the other way around. The o-line doesn’t help or enhance Tua. He, along with the scheme (aka quick passes) does that for the o-line. Tua is the framework. It doesn’t matter how good he is or isn’t, a successful team can’t be built like that.
Been my eval for quite a bit, so I agree... and it's sad that so many portray the converse. But that's a lot easier to fit in a small narrative and sell than the other.... and really too many either don't know the game or are more about selling tight juicy narratives than bring good information... sadly.
@@AcePerHeadwhat exactly is that juicy narrative, because what I witness and see born out in the data/results. McDaniel said he would only curate the playbook to Tuas strengths. To me it feels more like we’re looking to scape goat players. Look at Patrick Paul, he was drafted way too high for his skill set and we expect him to be 1 step down from armstead? Thats having way too high expectations for a group we know was undervalued by this franchise.
Thank you sir, we are very very far away from having solid, respectable trenches on both sides of the ball. The OL should be first as we are stuck with Tua so please protect him.
Ross needs to move on from Grier, McBozo and Tua. The first is an idiot, the second is a beginner and the third has bird bones. Zero return on this HUGE investment. Wake up Ross. This franchise has been turned into a joke.
Its confirmed Tua said could have played last and can this week too but they will not clear him. He said he definitely is playing next week. That was using the press to put pressure on McDaniel and Grier. Its Grier telling the medical staff to shut him down

When we had Connor , Hunt and a healthy Armstead last season the difference in the run game was astronomical. Curtis hope your wife gets well soon.
Pretty good ,some flaws but much better than what we have now... poor LG and Rt and depth hurt us, but Terron, Connor, and Hunt did a ton of lifting.
Vic Fangio probably told him go to Philly instead of Miami. It didn’t take Vic long to realize what kind of shape the Phins franchise was in.
And we put a media hit on him soon as he left... sad...
!! 100% !!
If you put out a video about draft prospects for o line and which ones you want for the phins and why, it would be awesome.
Will do... need to start studying them now... I usually point out some I like.... but I'll do better this season.
