i honestly relate with you thinking the facials have made your skin worse. i went on a facial spree and it made my skin 10x worse and now i can't even leave the house without concealer on. acne is so normal and i wish more people showed it so that we don't feel the need to cover it but you're not alone maggie
I couldn’t agree more! When I think back to when my skin was the worst it was after I started getting regular facial and switched up my entire skincare routine based off my aestheticians recommendations😩
Coming from someone who also struggles with hormonal acne I really appreciate you speaking so open and honestly about it on here. It really does make me feel less alone❤️
I dealt with hormonal acne for almost 3 years and it sucked I'm so glad to see influencers like you be so open about it! Spironolactone, tretinoin, and clindamycin changed my life - I also switched birth controls and noticed a HUGE difference. It took about 3 months to see a difference - be patient :)) You're not alone
I applaud you for being so real and honest about your skin problems. It's refreshing to see an influencer looking like a normal person with flaws just like anyone of us out here. ❤️❤️❤️. Oh I'm a total incense girl too.
maggie im literally about to cry hearing you talk about your skin, i know how you feel, you are so amazing for sharing and being vulnerable with us, so many people would never
I went through the same exact situation with my acne. I started out with the best skin and then I went vegan for 2 years and had the worst cystic acne. I tried everything under the sun before trying medicine (fixing my diet, taking supplements, facials, etc) and ended up going on accutane. It made me so sad that I couldn’t fix it myself, but accutane was the literal best thing I’ve done for myself. The only side effect I went through was extreme dryness. Just know you’re not alone and I know it’s hard to think about now while going through it, but acne doesn’t define you
for me personally, after years and years of struggling with acne i finally got on accutane a few months ago and I’m so glad I did. My skin is so clear and I feel like it’s been the only permanent solution that’s worked for me!
I had such similar skin issues to yours. When I hit 28, I finally just took accutane. I wish I would have done it sooner after trying EVERYTHING but looking back I was just doing too much (because I was desperate). The more you think about it, the worse it gets, I swear! Thanks for keeping it real.
Accutane is the way to go!! I tried literally everything, and it was the only thing that helped me!! I like never get breakouts now, maybe one or two around my time of the month but that’s about it.
Maggie - thanks for always keeping it real and relatable. We all have ups and downs with our skin, however, not everyone shows that! We appreciate you keeping it 100 always.
Babe, i tried everything when i had stubborn hormonal acne. The only thing to this day to help my acne stay away for over 4-5 years has been going on accutane. Everyone has different experiences and people try to scare others out of doing it but not everyone has a bad experience, i had a great experience being on accutane. So great, i’d take it again if i ever needed to. It was my last resort, i tried topicals, antibiotics, natural remedies & nothing. Sometimes products, diets, facials, even just going on BC doesn’t help.
I am going through the same thing right now. I am so happy you are open about your acne journey because it really does help those of us who also struggle.
I struggled with hormonal acne and took the lowest dose of acutane for 6 months and it’s was the best thing I ever did. The only negative symptom I had was dry lips! I also took it during the winter that way I didn’t have to worry about sun exposure because acutane does make it super sensitive to the sun:( but overall I’m so happy I took it and 7 years later my skin has never gone back. I only get a few pimples here and there during my period but it has stayed healthy and clear since I stopped acutane. Acne can be so debilitating and it’s such a normal thing we all going through so I appreciate your transparency and it really means a lot🥰🥰
I love that your honestly about your skin. I struggled with hormonal acne on and off for years. I’ve tried everything from accutane to holistic measures like acupuncture. Sadly when your “in it” you feel so alone and it seems like literally everyone has clear skin. The best thing for me was seeing a dermatologist and getting on some less harsh medications compared to accutane. Panoxyl is a really great cleanser and I stick to cerave moisturizer. I spent so much money trying fancy products but they had so much crap in them and always didn’t help. There’s no problem in having to resort to medications as it might just be what your body needs 💙🦋
I was struggling with breakouts randomly & appreciate you talking about acne because it’s so relatable. I just found out I have celiac disease which means I have to cut out gluten. After doing my own research it’s crazy how much it affects your gut health & you don’t absorb nutrients esp if you don’t know u have it & continue eating gluten. So despite me eating well for my skin nothing helped because of my body not being able to absorb it. If you haven’t checked maybe you can get that checked! ❤❤ I am now healing my gut & body so that it can properly absorb all the good things I put in my body & clear my skin!
i totally relate to the skin problem. I am 17 years old and every time my skin gets bad it makes me soo insecure and I don't want to put on makeup even though I'd love to. It's soo true with always seeing everyone with the best skin and I genuinely don't know what to do anymore :( But thank you for sharing!! We'll have flawless skin soon ;))
Relate so much with the skin issues and just know you are not alone. It is so easy to compare yourself, but I like to remind myself that shit could be worse. I am going to eliminate one thing a week to see if it is the cause, instead of doing a bunch of different stuff at once. I am also taking pictures every day! You are beautiful people and I understand what you are going through!
I feel you! It’s totally okay to talk about it, that’s your experience! If you are using acids on your face, check ingredients if there are any acids, try to stop using any acid and see if your skin gets better.
I know everyone doesn’t want to solve all their problems with a pill but spironolactone pills have literally saved my skin when it comes to hormonal acne. Definitely look into it!!! My skin was miserably bad and so painful and now, it is as clear as can be!!! Thanks for being so open maggie, we love you!!
I so feel you with the skin struggles! I had hormone issues and once I got them fixed, I switched to the full ZO system last June and it’s been life changing! It’s medical grade skincare and makes such a difference to tiktok trendy skincare.
Totally understand how you feel about your skin! I had cystic acne a year ago for two years straight and it was the worsttt. You will find a routine for your skin and i promise it will get better! Honestly for me it was mostly stress and now i only break out when i have too much going on & am stressed
I understand the frustration of having adult acne. My adult acne journey is getting better but it’s taken months of using the prescribed treatments from my dermatologist. And don’t stop if you start breaking out again at first, just keep using it even if it feels wrong. I hope the derm can help, it’ll take a lot of patience and consistency I thought you were using the MASK face cleanser and other products you’ve shown on your channel. While I didn’t comment anything, we have seen you use or at least show other skincare products on RUclips. I thought it was just part of the job, and it’s fun to try new things that might work.
My skin used to be so bad and I tried the holistic approach but it unfortunately doesn’t work when it comes to regulating whatever is going on. I seriously recommend going on spironolactone. It’s not an acne medication it’s actually a blood pressure medication but it regulates your hormones and clears your skin. If you’re not comfortable going on a medication they just came out with a topical version called Winlevi. I also threw out all my really expensive skincare and 1000 step routine and brought it back to the basics. I use panoxyl 10% face wash, a vitamin c serum, tret, and La roche posay moisturizer. Everyone’s skin is different but I think the reality is some people just need medication to fix these problems and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that! Sending love 💓
Hi Maggie! Figured i'd share. Sometimes hormonal acne is as a result of some underlying issue( this was my case). Probably have an extensive gyno visit to assess hormones, uterus etc. Also what worked for me was Panoxyl foam cleanser! $20 bucks at target. It has benzoyl peroxide which is great for acne. Completely got rid of my hormonal acne. Good luck!
I know you prefer holistically, but if you are open to trying an internal medication, I would highly highly recommend trying Spironolactone and bringing it up to your Derm in your upcoming appt! I did accutane twice and my skin was great for a while, but I had a trigger with hormones/stress/adult acne and Spironolactone saved my skin. It’s recommended to take in conjunction with birth control as it is a dynamic duo basically (my derm mentioned this). I feel for you because I literally felt so defeated. Hope this helps❤
Winlevi or spironolactone both target cystic acne and worked for me when nothing else did!! I truly believe acne is usually caused by hormone imbalance. Also spearmint tea helped me as well because it balances your hormones! My dermatologist recommended I drink it every morning and night and I saw a big improvement. It will get better ❤
I'm sure the last thing you want to hear is that your skin doesn't look bad, but it doesn't. The parts that are clear are actually porcelain-glowy, like a doll. I'm not a doctor, or a dermatologist, but I'm 47 years old (yikes!) and have had lots of skin issues over the years. The more I washed it, thought about it, hyper-focused on cleanliness, in general, and got stuff done to it, the worse it got. Not washing it excessively and just letting it be is what ended up working for me, but I know it's different for everyone. I hope you find what works for you.
may be farfetched but when my skin was freaking out bad I found out anything processed almond made me flare up like almond milk, cut it out and immediately helped. You should try tracking foods and doing elimination to see if something may be causing flareups. for me its almond and apples!!
ZO Skin is the freaking way to go!! I literally got so happy when you said you got the exfoliating polish. You should try their Daily Power Defense it will be a game changer! It is essentially a multi-vitamin for your skin!
Girl share whatever makes you happy. This is your space. I want you to try something for the next 2 weeks. Lather in your hands dial gold bar soap, apply a few drops of tea tree oil and a few drops of vitamin E. Lather it up, wash your face with it. Rinse. Then use a good clean moisturizer. Game changer. I promise you will see a huge difference. I really hope it works for you. ❤❤ having skin troubles is so uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing. But there is hope. Please please try it.
Hii you need to stop paying attention to your skin. Whatever you put energy and attention on is going to become bigger. The day I stopped worrying and obsessing about my skin was the day my acne began to disappear. Now I have clear skin and whenever a breakout appears I just ignore it and have a deeper knowing that the less attention I put on it, the faster it’ll go away. I know it’s easier said than done but it’s a practice, you wake up, do your normal skincare routine and then you FORGET about your skin for the rest of the day. Also, the simpler your skincare routine, the better. Hope it helps ❤
I used to have horrible hormonal acne but went on doxycycline and stuck with minimal skincare products and it cleared everything up. I swear less products helped keep my skin clear too
I know it’s not for everyone and can seem kind of scary but accutane was the best thing I’ve ever done. I didn’t have horrible acne but it was persistent over most of my teen years and early twenties. I was so against it at first but would not change a thing now that I’ve done it. In Australia I believe the dosage is lower and they don’t put you on more than 40mg a day so wouldn’t recommend a dosage higher than that. But absolutely something worth considering!!! 🧡
Maggie! You should REALLY just try to use cetaphil or cerave something really simple! all the harsh chemicals and acne focused products usually just stress your skin and make it worse! Your robe is cute!
Can i ask a very random question to the Americans in the comments! I'm just so so curious, how come you all (maybe not all, but majority for sure) use a 12 hour clock rather than the 24 hour clock? In Europe it's 24 clock as standard but so curious. Is that how you're taught in school? Thanks xx
I’m going through this rn!!!! I’ve been to the derm and they put me on tretinoin and winlevi. And I feel like my skin is worse but I’m just hoping it’s one of those situations where it gets worse before it gets better lol! But ur not alone and I give u sm respect for being so real :)))))
I’ve only been on the topicals for ab a month and I do notice a huge difference in my complexion. I feel like my pores are smaller and my skin looks more even toned. All I can say is stick w whatever they give u for at least 3 or so months and u may see it get worse before it gets better. Your skin has to go through a purging phase before it gets used to the medication!
I deal with bad hormonal acne! I went on birth control at 19 because my periods were so bad and didn’t have too bad of acne in high school luckily because I played water polo and chlorine killed everything lol. I really didn’t have bad acne but decided last year to go off birth control and I went off of it for a year and dealt with horrible cystic acne and bad periods. I finally went back on bc and it’s made my hormones so up and down and I’m so depressed so I might go back off of it which is frustrating because it means bad skin. I understand the struggle and it’s hard when it’s hormonal and hereditary
Maggie! Desicated Beef Liver Pills healed my hormonal acne. It's the healthiest acne remedy I've ever used and stuck with. I've been on it over.1 year now. Idk if you know about it. I know you said you want to see a doctor about it. ILY!
Facials make me break out too. Serioulsy b4 a derm pleaseeee try beef liver pills, I truly think you may have fantastic results wtihout having to use antibiotic creams and pills.
Sorry for constantly commenting, I am shocked no one reccommended BL pills because I know so many females it's helped, I thought it was more popular. I showed my coworker it and she is forever grateful because she hated being on toxic pharmaceuticals for her acne. Seriously, please look into it because I felt like u 100% and if I can change someone else's life I would be so happy.
I had the same thing happen to me with laser hair removal my new laser lady told me that it could be because of a hormone shift in your body she said sometimes that happens to women especially in there 20s and it can be from anything or bc. But you should get a robot vacuum on the main floor and second floor of your house! It helps keep my floors clean! I don’t have dog that shed but my house is always the place where people hang out and we where shoes inside and it brings so much dirt and sand! But highly recommend it to maintain your floors clean!
Have you tried benzoyl peroxide? I had acne for the longest time couldnt figure out why only eat whole foods etc etc and benzoyl peroxide healed me after one use
Maggie you’re doing too much to your skin. You’re continuously introducing new products to your routine. Take it easy don’t do anything other than moisturizer for a month and you will see a significant improvement. No vitamin C no, I said no serums nothing.. your skin has been over sensitized in your skin barrier is compromised.
Maggie, please please try the clear stem hormonal acne supplement. The ingredients are clean and basically just vitamins that help to support clear skin. I’ve been taking them for two months now, and I’ve consistently had clear skin with less breakouts. This is coming from someone who has struggled with consistent acne since 12 years old. Please give it a try.
I had a similar situation with my skin but I started using cerave Lotion and cleanser I stopped with the over the counter products. I started putting on the trention and it works
Make a list of every thing you’ve changed about your routine since the last time you remember your skin being what you wanted. Maybe it won’t help at all, but you never know.
Try out panoxyl and benzoyl peroxide spot treatment! It has literally CHANGED my skin! It helps so much! Make sure to moisturize a lot when you use it though!
Maggie! My skin got cystic acne from supplements - especially vitamin b's and c's. That might be the issue? Once I stopped the supplements my skin cleared up!
I have been struggling with my hormonal skin issues for the last year or so 😢 I have started doing acupuncture and thinking about going to a functional medicine doctor to help fix it!
having dark wood floors is the worst for showing dust. I have dark hardwood too and it only stays clean for 2 hours then the animal hair is all over again!
maggie i used to have the same skin, or even worse, and i never tried or trusted commercial skincare brands so i went to a good dermatologist. the doctor recommended me to do chemical peeling, after 2 weeks i saw results, my active acnes were dry and all my scars started peeling and after a few more times of peeling my skin was clear. ofc u have to use the creams that the doctor recommended bcos it will speed up the peeling process, ur skins gonna feel hot obv bcos its peeling, but that's the only way to make the scars and acne dry and gone! trust me go to dermatologist and ask for chemical peeling! they have diff levels of peeling depending on ur skin condition, so don't worry if this is ur first time! do the peeling every 2 weeks, and use the night cream regime, consistency is key and u will see results! hope this helps peeling changed MY LIFE
9:48 your now lady of the house 🏡 cleaning up everything it’s a responsible for the owner home 🏡 to keep it clean nice and neat ? Have a fun with the vlog today cold weather keep it up 👍 doing vlogs
I think your acne is hormonal acne. My sister and I both experienced terrible acne in our early mid twenties. Nothing would fix it and we never had acne in the past. I finally saw a dermatologist and she said it was probably hormones and gave me spironolactone which worked wonders. I haven’t had breakouts since. Obviously, everyone is different. One sign of hormonal acne is all the breakouts being below the eyes. That’s what my dermatologist told me.
Hey! Maggie today is my birthday and I really love this vlog so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 400K Subscribers very very soon!💫😊💞
I keep hoping that she can see my message, but even make up can cause breakouts so sheet you have to try to see what foundations may cause breakouts blush cause breakouts primers
I feel u with the acne I can relate rn it fucking sucks feeling like I have to put on concealer to cover these red dots on my face to go out in public or do anything and then it feels ick to put makeup on ur pimples, I recently started seeing a lady who specializes in acne extractions and so I went to that it is so painful wow but she told me not to use moisturizer bc I have oily skin and moisture is water so something abt u don’t need it and she said just wash ur face and use toner and at night she gave me a cbd serum bc ut calms inflammation and says to put some type of drying lotion to dry up your pimples. Sunscreen is ok and vitamin c serum is always good (I do in the morning sometimes not everyday) it repairs ur skin and I’m keep seeing her every 3 weeks to a month idk I’ll update u but I just wanted to make u feel better about struggling atm cause I can relate it’s not even like bad acne either like I know so many people have it worse but it’s hard and the more u talk about it it just makes it worse I feel like idk. I’ll update u but honestly it just takes time . wow I wrote a paragraph . Love u♥️♥️♥️♥️
Also like maybe it’s just me but this time of year like the inbetween seasons can b tough for no reason i Iike life is good and I have so much to be grateful for life is just stressful sometimes
Facials do make your skin worse! Dermatologists have said this. You need to just see a derm and stop trusting these “estheticians and facialists” go to someone with a medical degree who actually studied this
Personally I think you may just be suffering from adult acne which is usually hormonal. I didn’t really have many pimples during my youth but did suffer from adult acne. The only thing that worked for me was taking medication prescribed by my dermatologist. Either way your magnificent darling. Don’t you forget that 😉
i honestly relate with you thinking the facials have made your skin worse. i went on a facial spree and it made my skin 10x worse and now i can't even leave the house without concealer on. acne is so normal and i wish more people showed it so that we don't feel the need to cover it but you're not alone maggie
I couldn’t agree more! When I think back to when my skin was the worst it was after I started getting regular facial and switched up my entire skincare routine based off my aestheticians recommendations😩
Thank you for being so real and showing your skin!! Hormonal acne is so annoying and hard to manage!! Just know your never alone babe♥️♥️

Always my favorite bc of how real you are🫶🏻🥺
In the Boston area too, I recommend Live By Skin in Woburn, MA. She has an acne bootcamp that really helped me - takes *some* time but I love her!!
Maggie! You should REALLY just try to use cetaphil or cerave something really simple! all the harsh chemicals and acne focused products usually just stress your skin and make it worse! Your robe is cute!
Sending a kiss to the dog
Milo's facial expressions are so cute and funny
Can i ask a very random question to the Americans in the comments! I'm just so so curious, how come you all (maybe not all, but majority for sure) use a 12 hour clock rather than the 24 hour clock? In Europe it's 24 clock as standard but so curious. Is that how you're taught in school? Thanks xx
please do a haul of your lululemon !!
pls pls
I love the deep cleaning.the furniture is a beauty art.😊😊
But highly recommend it to maintain your floors clean!
wait not me sitting on the couch with my airpods in watching this video while my boyfriend watches the Celtics game 😂
Yes !! Unless you have a normal skin type less and basic is better !
Oh my god the ZO exfoliating polish legit changed my skin, I’ve been using it for 5 years now
Your place is soo nice! I dream of having an apartment/ house like that in Boston.
I started putting on the trention and it works
gworlll, Accutane for 6 months saved me. my only regret is not going on it sooner :)
her skin is not that bad, there are some products out there that she can use without having to go through the side effects of Accutane, its so harsh
Make a list of every thing you’ve changed about your routine since the last time you remember your skin being what you wanted. Maybe it won’t help at all, but you never know.
I love ❤ the design on your lighter fabulous video
Try out panoxyl and benzoyl peroxide spot treatment! It has literally CHANGED my skin! It helps so much! Make sure to moisturize a lot when you use it though!
Maggie! My skin got cystic acne from supplements - especially vitamin b's and c's. That might be the issue? Once I stopped the supplements my skin cleared up!
I just learned about and bought the zo skin polish too!
I have been struggling with my hormonal skin issues for the last year or so 😢 I have started doing acupuncture and thinking about going to a functional medicine doctor to help fix it!
do you use the same soap you use for your makeup brushes for your hair brushes? i’m not sure what to use to clean my hair brush!!
try dish soap or hand soap
having dark wood floors is the worst for showing dust. I have dark hardwood too and it only stays clean for 2 hours then the animal hair is all over again!
I refuse to get facials.. I did once and I broke out so bad... after that I never went back and I Neve get 1 pimple..
How is the weather in Boston in March? Im going the 9th-15th from Tx so i need to know what to pack 😂
Beautiful video 🌺👏
You should try benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin! I had the same issue and now my face is clear.
Maybe you should try going on a retinol or even acutane? They suck but work. Luv yaaaaaa
try curology i struggled with acne and tried everything and curology was the only thing that helped me!!
Zo Skin is the best ever 🤍
Please show us everything you got!!!
maggie i used to have the same skin, or even worse, and i never tried or trusted commercial skincare brands so i went to a good dermatologist. the doctor recommended me to do chemical peeling, after 2 weeks i saw results, my active acnes were dry and all my scars started peeling and after a few more times of peeling my skin was clear. ofc u have to use the creams that the doctor recommended bcos it will speed up the peeling process, ur skins gonna feel hot obv bcos its peeling, but that's the only way to make the scars and acne dry and gone! trust me go to dermatologist and ask for chemical peeling! they have diff levels of peeling depending on ur skin condition, so don't worry if this is ur first time! do the peeling every 2 weeks, and use the night cream regime, consistency is key and u will see results! hope this helps peeling changed MY LIFE
Where are your makeup brushes from? The cleaning compilation made me realize I need new ones! Lol
Sephora!

Such a good vlog!!
what is the exact model and size of your cream bottega bag? loove it!!
It’s the small Jodie!
Where is that silver lighter from?! 💜
It’s a lighter case from Amazon!

Anyone know what font her intro is in? I love it
I feel u with the acne I can relate rn it fucking sucks feeling like I have to put on concealer to cover these red dots on my face to go out in public or do anything and then it feels ick to put makeup on ur pimples, I recently started seeing a lady who specializes in acne extractions and so I went to that it is so painful wow but she told me not to use moisturizer bc I have oily skin and moisture is water so something abt u don’t need it and she said just wash ur face and use toner and at night she gave me a cbd serum bc ut calms inflammation and says to put some type of drying lotion to dry up your pimples.
Also like maybe it’s just me but this time of year like the inbetween seasons can b tough for no reason i Iike life is good and I have so much to be grateful for life is just stressful sometimes
if you ever need to find new cleaners...polish ladies for the win lol
Sea moss would definitely balance your hormones and help with acne!!
Don’t you forget that 😉
❤❤❤
